  • I washed mine--went through the whole washing routine in my shorts one day. It worked ok though after that. If it works, you might have to "reset" it and you can find directions on how to do that on the iTunes website. I had to reset mine after that but if you have your songs backed up on the hard drive, it's no problem.
  • WOW! GREAT JOB!! What a way to start T-Day!
  • No. I peel the individual cloves and then just place around the bird. They'll spread just like butter when done and are UNBELIEVABLY GOOD! I got that idea from AB and his recipe for "Chicken with 40 cloves." I don't think I'll use 40 cloves of garlic (although I have before with chicken and it's great!) but will probably…
  • Love the new pic! I hope to post my "Good-Bye to the 200s--hello 100s!" pic by next week. My B-Day is Dec. 7th, and I'd LOVE to be in the 100s by then! Anyway, I got that weight-lifting guy from a great new icon site I found. Here's the link: http://www.graphicsgrotto.com/nextgensmileys/sports/exercise/
  • Happy T-Day to all! Step 1 Step 2 Step 3 Step 4, 5, 6, and 7
  • I'm cooking a Turkey, no stuffing (don't like it), rice for DH, squash, bell peppers, and crescent rolls. I'm throwing some garlic cloves in with the turkey towards the end of cooking time so they'll get roasted and will use that instead of butter on my rolls. Got that tip from Alton Brown Yea, AB! :drinker: And, then for…
  • I'm logging but I'm not intending to blow a day on Thanksgiving food. We're having Turkey (which is a great low-calorie food!), squash, bell peppers, carrots, and crescent rolls (that's my one splurge but will be sans butter). I do have a "free day" once a week now but I'll save that for Chinese food tomorrow--fried…
  • I only have the Shuffle and love it! If you create a "Playlist" in iTunes with the songs you want on the Shuffle, then tweak that using the settings for the Shuffle that will come up once you plug the shuffle into your computer (all this on iTunes), then you can have it automatically fill itself from any playlist you…
  • Continue to be awed and inspired by all the great photos! I've decided to wait to take more of myself to post--I am 2.8 pounds away from the "100s"!!!! This morning, I weighed 202.8--when I get below 200, I'll post new pics.
  • Oh, the fried one sounds good! But I don't like mushrooms and tomatoes--and yeah, I've tried those
  • Today, I tossed them with summer squash and some olive oil and baked them--they were good but I'm hoping for something "different" tomorrow.
  • Today, I tried bell peppers--and, guess what? I LOVED THEM! Why haven't you guys told me before now about all this great stuff I've just discovered since being on MFP--like squash, yogurt, and now bell peppers. Anyway, so we bought some and are making bell peppers to go with the old turkey tomorrow--what's a really good…
  • Finally, today was not rainy or windy (too windy anyway) and the temp went above 35 this morning in time for my exercise time, so off I went! 39 degrees, 8 mph wind--brrrrr!!! Got in 19 miles anyway and burnt up 692 calories doing it with an average speed of 16.2mph--I really wanted to get back home!
  • Don't count it as exercise but as part of your daily routine, so make sure you have your activity selected as "active" when you set up your goals
  • Be careful with the tea--tea is a natural diuretic and can lead to dehydration if you don't balance it with enough just plain water.
  • Ok, now all of this is starting to remind me of that movie, "The Road to Wellville"
  • Yeah, I don't even feel like I've done exercise until I hit the 25 mile mark on rides now. I go to the gym, work out for 80-90 minutes now since it's cold, I sweat, but I don't feel "tired" or worn out after wards. But, sometimes you have to rein in the body because, like I said, if you're not eating enough "fuel" to keep…
  • Well, it interested me because of that one day last week when I apparently had gotten dehydrated but didn't feel like it. One thing I haven't been doing, and I just realized it yesterday, is drinking some electrolyte stuff when working out in the gym. I hadn't thought about it since I put the cycle up for the winter but…
  • Let me tell you, the thought of drinking an ADDITIONAL 50 ounces of water a day, plus with the diuretics I'm on--LOL. Yeah, that ain't happening!
  • Because the companies tell us that we need their products--SBS, don't upset the apple cart, just go along and be a good consumer, you hear? I agree--we are fearfully and wonderfully made and our bodies tend to work pretty well unless something is wrong and you've having true medical issues, and in that case, consult a…
  • I stumbled upon this site just now that has a bunch of calculators, including a water intake calculator. It takes your age, and activity level, weight, etc. and tells you how much water you should drink every day. According to this calculator, I need to drink 205 ounces of water a day!!!!!! That's about 30-50 ounces more…
  • We're all looking goooooood! I'll have to try to get some new pics today--problem is my clothes I've got now are getting too big and everything "hangs" on me now! Makes me look 10 pounds heavier than I am. I'll look around later and see what I can find and get some pics. But, here's one from when I was 260--19 pounds shy…
  • That doesn't bother me, all have a goal and a desire. Shoot, there's even a few on here who need to GAIN weight to be healthy--now that taught me something! They have just as much a struggle as I do in losing and for the same reasons. See, that's the point of MFP--to bring together people who are not just trying to "diet"…
  • I've burnt up as much as over 4,000 in a day cycling, and averaged about 1500-2000 a day in exercise calories when the weather was warm. It's really no problem eating them, and you REALLY need to eat them even more when doing that kind of exercise. TRUST ME! If you don't, you will find youself gradually wearing down and…
  • If you do a search of the forums for HRM or heart rate monitors, there's been bunches and bunches of stuff posted previously.
  • Guess you didn't catch my post the other day about upping calories: here's a link for you. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/30952-to-all-who-aren-t-eating-all-your-calories-or-need-to-eat
  • Ummm, work harder on the equipment they do have? You control how hard you work on the equipment, so up the intensity of your work-out yourself. Or take some other group class offered.
  • Ok, again--the BMR tool is not what MFP is basing your calories upon. Look on your goals page, you'll see a number on the right hand side of the screen that is what MFP calculates to be what SBS is calling the TDEE
  • Could be pre-men, too. From what my doc told me and from research on the 'net, most women are in some form of pre-men (even if unnoticable) from age 35 on. I entered it big time this year though. Wait until you get the hot flashes, too!
  • It's all about glycogen replacement. Google glycogen or check with Songbirdsweet for a fuller explanation, as I don't get all the scientific stuff too much but as SBS put if in layman's terms for me--your muscles burn glycogen for energy, on longer periods of exercise, you burn it all up, so your body makes more. All that…
