Anyone hungry??
The church ladies had an Election Day luncheon sale and just dropped by some left-overs for us--I now have a 2 gallon zip-lock bag of home-made chicken salad (yes, mayo, salt, and all that good stuff!) in my fridge, with home made sweet potato biscuits. I don't even dare go in the kitchen! Anyone want me to FedEx you some…

Craving....pepper????
Ok, what does it mean to crave pepper? I have a craving for anything with pepper sprinkled all over it! I know pepper isn't bad for you (is it?) but I don't want to go eat loads of it either!

Hi all, I was on here frequently a few years back but I've been a way a LONG time. Had some exercise related Achilles injuries that just set me way back and that plus other things resulting in me losing my focus for a couple years. Gained back all I had lost :ohwell: But last summer I was finally able to get back on track…

Hi all, Popping in real quick to say hi! Thanks for all the messages from everyone of support and encouragement! I haven't had time to reply to everyone. My schedule continues to be unbelievably busy--got a funeral later today and my husband's step-mom is doing very badly on top of it all. Anyway, I have been doing better…

I finally made my own Turkey Egg/Spring Rolls!
I read the recipe months ago for home made turkey rolls but never got around to making them. Since I've been eating WAAAAAYYYY too many real egg rolls lately, I figured I better find an alternative, so I made my own. I used turkey burgers chopped up (the only turkey I had in the house), a little soy sauce, some red and…

Back--again--for good I hope!
Hi all--I'm back again. Sorry I disappeared again. Oh boy--what a couple of months. I've been busier than you-know-what. Plus, this cold weather just has me depressed--I hate it! I haven't been able to get on my bike in forever, and I just couldn't force myself to the gym. I came to really dislike going--I don't know why…

What does 200 calories look like?
I found this great site while doing research on Splenda--it says how much 200 calories is in various foods. It was really interesting to see how much, say fruit, you can eat for 200 calories vs. a cheeseburger or french fries! http://www.wisegeek.com/what-does-200-calories-look-like.htm

I'm back!
Hi all--I'm back from my hiatus. I'm heavier I know but I'm not even going to weigh, as it will just depress me. So, starting fresh today and will weigh in a bit. Took almost a month to just kick back and basically blow it! And, boy, did I blow it! Didn't track a thing, eat pretty much what I wanted--ate out ALOT, lots of…

Water intake calcalator
I stumbled upon this site just now that has a bunch of calculators, including a water intake calculator. It takes your age, and activity level, weight, etc. and tells you how much water you should drink every day. According to this calculator, I need to drink 205 ounces of water a day!!!!!! That's about 30-50 ounces more…

Embarassing/dumb moments at the gym
Soo....yesterday I felt like a big dummy at the gym! And, I thought I'd share and get others to share theirs, too, so I wouldn't feel like the only one who's done something stupid at the gym! Here's mine: I started incorporating the rowing machine into my circuit training the other day, right? And yesterday, I hopped on…

To all who aren't eating all your calories or need to eat mo
(Just because this is ALWAYS a hot topic on MFP---some words (well alot of words:tongue: ) from personal experience! ) To those who don't eat all their calories (including exercise ones!) or who insist on eating way too few calories a day: your body is an amazing machine that will do what it takes to keep functioning. It's snowing!
This is crazy! We're getting snow flurries here--it won't stick or anything but we're still over a week before T-Day, and it's snowing in VA! I can't remember seeing snow before this early. And, Saturday, it was 72 degrees and I was wearing shorts :noway:

Yes, you, too, could be dehydrated
Long--but a lot to explain--sorry. Since cold weather hit, I've resorted to working out at the YMCA nearby. I've been doing circuit training and learning all the cardio machines. I work out for between 80-90 minutes each time I go there. And, boy, do I sweat! I mean, it's almost embarrassing. I'm a "sweater", and I just…

I've lost a 2nd grader
We had a function at church today, and someone asked how much weight I've lost so far. When I said 72 pounds, a young girl who is in 2nd grade said "WOW! That's how much I weigh!" So, I've lost the equivalent of a 2nd grader! I tried to pick her up to just see what 72 pounds I've lost felt like, and I couldn't do it. It…

Too cool!
I went to our little post office today for the first time in a few weeks, and the counter lady didn't recognize me! She was amazed at how "different" I look--as she put it--since she saw me last. I've got to get my DH to take some pics now and see if I really do look at that different. But it was cool to have someone not…

Ladies, help! Hungry all the time and looking for answers
I'm hoping one of my fellow women might have an answer to this but I'm feeling like I'm starving! I mean, for the last 3-4 weeks, I am just constantly, and I mean constantly!, hungry. Not just cravings--although I get those--but I just feel like I am never ever full and could turn around and eat more right after finishing…
