Hi All!!

Well, seems I took off last week and guess everyone else did, too, or I missed the post anyway. The weather finally got a little better today though, and I went out this morning and got in 20 miles. The next 3 days are supposed to be rainy here :grumble:

Anyway else get a ride in today?

    Hi Shorerider,
I rode 16 miles on Saturday. I'll probably only get 10 in tonight with it getting dark earlier. I've got a headlight on my bike now, so I'll be OK. I just prefer daylight riding. It's tough since I have to work during the day - I sit here and think "gee, wish I could be riding right now!".
My hubby got me a sweet riding jacket - reflective, breaths, cut just right for riding, etc. as an anniversary gift! We've been averaging over 16 mph. He also got me the fancy odometer for my bike that tracks miles per hour, distance covered, time riden, blah, blah, blah... Next I want a real cycling jersey - pink or lavendar, something really girl-ie.
A group of women from church (code name: dump the plump) are planning a 10 mile ride in a few weeks. I guess I'll just have to double lap them or something. HA
I think I'm officially addicted to cycling now. I've not been too active on the boards, but know that I'm kickin' it on the Loveland Bike Trail!

Way to go! I don't ride at dark at all--just not safe feeling to me. The roads here have no shoulder and are narrow rural roads, and I just wouldn't feel safe being out on them on a bike after dark (or before sunrise). For that matter, I don't even like to be on them at dark in a car!

Good job on the average speed, too!

As far as "something girly" in a jersey, check out this link. Not my style but they're definitely "girly" stuff on there. Although I really love the Cat-In-The-Hat jersey and might have to get one of those one day! The prices are in line with other companies--jerseys aren't cheap :grumble:

I hate this weather  and the shorter days. I have not been able to ride for 3 to 4 weeks now. I have joined a Gold's gym that opens in December. The gym has spinning so I am looking forward to the grand opening. :drinker:

Hope everyone is doing well ... Shorerider & Glammy it looks like it is up to you two to keep the cyclists corner active!!!

My local Y offers Spinning--although they don't call it that so I'm not really sure that's what it is! I think it's listed as "Cycling" or something, I'll have to look again. It's at 6:00am though--the only time I could there anyway--and that's pretty early even for me! They have something they call "Cycle Chat" where you I guess you ride and "chat" but I'm not sure how that would work. If I tough the weather out here, I could probably ride until mid-December, after that, it gets pretty cold. The good thing about my line of work is I set my own hours pretty much, so can ride when I want during the day.

I rode 40 minutes last night. It was pretty dark by the time I finished, but the headlight works well. My average speed last night was 16.8 mph. I drafted behind my hubby the 2nd half, but he didn't increase the average speed I had already started!
We'll be going again tonight, but hope to get an earlier start. (Good thing I voted this morning).
We're having some beautiful 70 degree weather here in SW Ohio - lucky me!

I've taken 1 spinning class - it was great! I really felt like I'd pushed myself on the bike for an hour - but I missed the breeze, the trees rushing by with their lovely fall colors, the scenic river that runs along the bike trail I use. It just wasn't the same, although in a snow storm I'd take it!

Got in a 40 minute ride Tuesday night and a 50 minute ride last night (Wed.). Both nights my average speed was 17.6 mph. I know last night I went 14 miles, so Tuesday must have been around 13 miles.
I'll be going out again tonight - just because it's probably the last nice evening we'll have for a while.

Great! It's been raining here for days--gross weather. But I dusted off the recumbent stationary bike yesterday and put in a total of 20 miles on it. I watched an Instant Movie on my laptop from Netflix while I was "riding."

Well, the weather broke yesterday--finally--for a couple hours at least--and I got in 21.5 miles. Then the rains returned. Today is cold. I hope spring gets here soon!
