I use mapmyride.com to track all my cycling and walking miles. I noticed today that they just added some new stats called "Green Stats." Here's mine for this year since I started my health journey in April:

Total Workout Days: 92
Distance Traveled: 2,025.63 mi.
Gas Saved: 112.53 gallons
Money Saved: $391.62
Carbon Offset: 2,178.7 lbs. of CO2

Sooo. ... got me thinking--hmmmm....www.MessenTools.com-Humor-pantera-rosa-pensando.gif

wonder if I could start selling my carbon offsets??  Hey, if Al Gore does it, why can't I? I found one site that sells carbon off sets for $12 a ton; I'd have to do a LOT more riding to make a decent profit though!

I think you should be able to sell them. Al Gore should keep his for heating his big house and driving his suv.

Yep! about 2000 of them is from cycling; 25 from walking. I track my miles, too, on a Government site that takes your exercise and converts it into a Virtual Trip Across America--so far, I'm halfway! Currently, I'm "in" Scott City, KS. Here's the link if you're interested in tracking yours, too. It's pretty cool and just another motivational tool I use.

BUT, were your cycling/walking miles in lieu of driving on an errand or in addition to driving on your errands? I run 4 miles three days a week yet accomplish nothing more than getting my cardio workout in. I wouldn't be driving those miles if I wasn't running them and I'm still driving to the store for shopping. If you're walking/cycling to the store, or to work, or somewhere you you would drive to, but aren't now, that's another thing. Then sell your credits.
