Thank you everyone so much for your input. Just to make clear gaining weight wasn't the only thing putting me off the antidepressants, I'd rather be chubby and happy over skinny and miserable/dead any day. I will address my other issues with medical professionals, I just wanted to know how other's with first hand…

Thanks everyone your words of advice and the useful links really helped a lot! The hospital recommended the antidepressants but I'll speak to my gp about alternative options and anti-anxiety medication. Just to clarify is it the drugs that make most people gain weight or is it the increased appetite? I have quite good self…

I'm going through this aswell. I think your supposed to stick to an exercise routine for 4 weeks to see what difference it makes not only to the scale but also to your inches lost

I'm doing this to feel good not look good because Iike the way I look already! I like my squishy belly I'd be sad if it was completely flat. Plus I wear loose clothing anyway, most of the time no-one can tell I have a massive disporportionately large belly and hardly anyone will be able to tell I lost weight. Not everyone…

Do you think I could train my blood to flow in my hands and feet more? Not because I need to lose weight in those areas lol but because their always cold! I want to improve my circulation

I agree with the main points of what your saying but some of it is quite subjective. How much attention do I need to pay to my personal appearance for me to appear not to look like an *kitten*? Do my eyebrows need to be freshly plucked, all my blemishes be covered etc? Also, my idea of wearing something that fits and…

My boss came up to me and started telling me about the maternity package at work. I think she was more mortified than I was when I told her I wasn't pregnant

Thanks and I like your picture

How much should I increase my protein to?
-
When I first joined MFP I lost 3 pounds in the first week but that was probably water weight. It's not good to lose more than 2.5 pounds a week and I'm guessing if you lost 5 pounds a week you'd have a lot of loose skin and surely you don't want that? Remember losing weight is a marathon not a sprint

How long does it take to come off? I've been exercising for almost 2 weeks now and my weight's pretty much stayed the same hasn't increased (except when it was my TOM so I was expecting that anyway) but it hasn't decreased either. It hasn't put me off exercising but I just want to be see the scale move so I know I've been…

The type of pilates I do doesn't have any lying down on a mat just resting unfortunately  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GurTMB_4bc I do this ^^ at least 3 times

When you first start exercising your weight increases due to water being stored to repair your muscles. It is really important to eat at least a net of 1200 calories, eating below this level especially consistently isn't good for you. If you really struggle to reach 1200 calories drink your calories! That's what I do when…

I managed to exercise consistently for the whole week, major achievement for me because I have panic disorder and I couldn't exercise before without having to stop because I thought I was going to have a panic attack!

My subway doesn't have a fish fillet either but that does sound really yummy

I do walk away the pounds for cardio its quite easy so I'm planning to swap it out for something more challenging. For strength training I do Denise Austin Pilates Total Body Challenge, it's only 15 minutes long so I do it twice but I find it really hard. Edit: They're both free on YouTube

How long does this last for?
-
I've recently incorporated pilates into my exercise regime as my strength training because I hate lifting weights. A couple of MFP users have told me its effective so I'm hoping for the best. What pilates exercises do you do? I follow the "Denise Austin's Pilates Total Body Workout" it's free on YouTube

Since being on 1200 calories I've discovered veggies are awesome! I've been on 1200 for one and a half months now and so far so good, just make sure you eat back your exercise calories. I'm eating back a bar of chocolate now  Also, for people who are saying they have difficulty exercising try walking! I love it! I…

I'm 5ft 4 and my goal weight is roughly stone as well. I was 9 stone when I joined MFP just over a month ago and have lost half a stone by netting in at 1200 calories. If you want to appear slimmer focus on strength training and toning your muscles. Good luck

My health. I wear loose clothing anyway so you can't see my body shape and having flabs/not having flabs doesn't really affect my confidence. However since joining MFP and starting to exercise my anxiety has reduced so I guess it gives me confidence that way

I'm fasting (religious kind not diet kind) and now I really want lemonade! To OP: Thanks for sharing your story and good luck on your weight loss journey
-
what's the 17 day diet? I lost approx. 4 pounds on my first 17 days of being on MFP, calorie counting really works and it was all on the jump start I needed.

LOL

just did my first ever plank!

Cheers :drinker:

I'm a newbie to exercise I've recently learned that I need to do cardio and strength. Should I aim to do an hour a day to reach the 24 hour target and have 6 days off when I need to?

I follow youtube vids that way I can do it in the comfort of my own home and not have to wear my scarf!
