Motivational Observations for new users of MFP

- Do not give up what you want MOST for what you want NOW.
- Thinking about going to the gym burns between 0 and 0 calories.
- Do not reward yourself with food. You’re not a dog.
- There are days when you won’t exercise; but TODAY is not going to be one of them.
- Some quit because of slow progress, never realizing that slow progress, . . . . is progress.
- Don’t let exercise become so routine it’s easy. It should never get easier. You just work harder.
- What fits your busy schedule better, exercising one hour a day or being dead 24 hours a day?
- Don’t make excuses. Don’t even consider excuses. Get up! Exercise!
- You won’t get very far if you only exercise on the days you feel good.
- Whether it’s a 14 minute mile or a 7 minute mile, it’s still a mile!
- Do it for yourself; nobody else cares as much.
- Stop with the complaints and excuses. Suck. It. Up. Go.
- Dead Last Finish is better than Did Not Finish, which trumps Did Not Start.
- I don’t HAVE time to exercise: I MAKE time.
- Sleeping in is not an option.
- You’re only one workout away from a good mood.
- Most people never run far enough on their first wind to find out they’ve got a second.
- “I don’t have time” is the adult version of “The dog ate my homework”.
- There are seven days in the week and “someday” is not one of them.
- One “bad” meal won’t make you fat. Just like one “good” meal won’t make you skinny.
- It is far better to be exhausted from success than to be rested from failure.
- The question isn’t “Can you?” It’s “Will you?”
- If you still look good at the end of your workout, you didn’t train hard enough.
- Don’t depend on others to provide motivation. It comes from within.
- Being challenged in life is inevitable. Being defeated is optional.
- Success comes to those who show up.
- Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.
