  • Thanks :) I have taken the advice this week. Eaten closer to 1600. Noted all liquid intake. Also butter/marg whatever ya call it to. Weighed it too. Also the banana was less than I had put in my diary happily lol. Did have a coffee tonight but used skimmed milk. Don't take sugar anyway in coffee. Fingers crossed for…
  • Well yesterday and today not a drop of coffeemate had past my lips. Black tea, with sugar unfortunately, but reckon it's less cal than coffeemate, I hope at least :)
  • I've swapped my bedtime coffee for some tea with honey. Not quite the same but if I can swap some of my coffee for something else hopefully it'll help at least :drinker:
  • Thanks :) Was feeling a bit stupid and chastised. I will take notice though and be a lot more aware to log as accurately as possible.
  • Thanks. I've read that and quite a few helpful things today.
  • I need to have a good look at what actually passes my lips I think :/
  • Thanks for your replies. After reading the comments I've received ive decided on a few changes I will put into place from now on & will see how it goes :) Patience and perseverance :)
  • Condiments I use regular are chilli flakes, garlic powder, oxo, occasionally coarse grain mustard, Worcestershire sauce. Soy sauce on sushi. Olive oil only. I dont pour it, I put on kitchen roll and grease the oven tray. Flora light is the marg I usually use. Not a fan of ketchup, mayo etc unless on stuff like pizza,…
  • Well I am gob smacked!!! I have just weighed the coffeemate I would use per day . spooned into a regular mug onto digital scales. It almost filled the cup and weighed a massive 77gs. Meaning it was a whopping 414.4cals!!! How could I have been so blummin stupid to not notice that. Especially after me telling my partner…
  • No that's true too. I never log drinks. Thanks for pointing it out. I'll have to start measuring my coffee mate. I never thought of hidden calories there. I'm gonna go weigh it and see ;)
  • Thanks. I'm gonna try and shake a few things up this week and see how it goes :)
  • I had to laugh at the 100g of banana. I scanned the pack and it said each banana was 100g from that shop lol. I just trusted the pack. But after that comment, I realise that's quite naive of me >_< I'd weigh loose items, veg, pasta, potatoes, berries. But you're quite correct. Just cos the pack says Xg doesn't necessarily…
  • Hi Thanks for your reply. I've had nothing from my gp. Been waiting 3 months for a referral regarding another issue. I'll have to chase him up.
  • Thanks for the article. I've just read it and it's owned my eyes. Cortisol along with myself is my enemy. I've already decided to increase my cal intake to the 1600. But I'm also as the article stats "chill the heck out" cos it's doing me no favours! Thanks Melissa. I'll add now :)
  • :) done. Thanks.
  • I'm not sure what BMR means? Looking back at my own diary I can see days I have missed recording meals when there are empty spaces. But the full days are accurate. And those that I've missed I don't believe would be over my 1200ish as I check my diary to see how many cals I have left before eating anything. The quantity of…
  • Hi Thanks for your reply :) Yeh some days I feel exhausted. When I found out that exhaustion is part of the symptoms it was quite a relief cos I had been feeling soooo tired. And I just thought I was lazy like a few people had been saying. You are on a lot higher dose than I am. Do you mind me asking, how do you know when…
  • That's a good idea. I never thought of that. That might over ride my brain worrying about intaking too many cals. By splitting the total into smaller 'total intakes' Hmmm I really like that idea Thanks :)
  • Yeh I've started the gym a few weeks ago and can already feel myself fitter and stronger. I've increased my wrk out routine a few times already, since the routine my instructor set out for me, as I've thought I wasn't sweating enough or it felt comfortable. :)
  • I use digital scales :)
  • Thanks for your replies :) I do enjoy going to the gym, once I'm there lol. It's a real push to make myself go some nights, especially when my partner has to work and I need to go alone. Since starting I've increased the levels/weights/rpm etc that my instructor set or for me a few times already. But this week I'll make an…
  • Hi Thanks for your reply :) I actually had to Google electrolytes lol. Now I understand though lol. Ive only been going about 3 weeks, before that I used my exercise bike/cross trainer at home. But my partner broke the cross trainer lo. So instead of buying a new 1, we joined the gym. Since starting though, my instructor…
  • Thanks again for your replies. It all does make sense what you're saying. I never eat breakfast. When I've logged in 'breakfast' it means I've eaten earlier than my usual 2 ish pm. I tend to stick with the rich tea biscuits purely because I thought they were better for me than the toast I have occasionally when I'm…
  • 8 weeks? Wow that's about as long as I've been going already (O_0)
  • Thanks for your reply :) Now the weather is getting milder hopefully my craving of hot things will lessen and I'll get the spring/summer seasonal appetite of things like that. When its so cold and miserable weather I tend to crave the stodgy warming foods.
  • Yeh the gym instructor actually said I should take measurements of body parts too. And stupidly I didn't. So that's my task tonight. Measure my limbs lol.
  • Thanks for your replies :) Everybody does seem to be saying along the same lines of eat closer to the mfp given of 1600. Really that should please me being told to eat more. But it doesn't. It sort of worries me. But I'm gonna give it a try for a week. See how it goes.
  • Thanks for your replies :) My food intake I think I'm getting correct as I do weigh/measure everything. This isn't the first time I've tried losing weight. The very first time I lost 7 stone. That was at a rate of 2/3lbs per week. But for 2 years I ate nothing but rich tea biscuits, toast and laughing cow cream cheese…
