Thank you rick! Much appreciated. Another question....if I wanted to do this at home, what kind of equipment would I need and roughly how much would it cost? At the moment I'm a gym member but am wondering if it would be worth the investment to get my own equipment. And could I do this forever or would I have to move onto…

100 cal popcorn 60 cal sugar free vanilla pudding fruit these are the only things I snack on as I eat a fairly large lunch and dinner

I have 2 packets of aspartame in my morning coffee and two diet drinks per day. I have actually cut down and am trying to cut down more.

Your calorie burns sound a little high.

One pound per week is excellent. You should be happy!!!

Good topic. Anyone else not know when they're hungry or full? These cues seem to be broken for me. I just don't get hungry or full, but I love to eat (prob because of the lovely chemicals eating releases in your brain). At the moment I'm not counting calories but I am counting servings. I stopped losing so I figure I'm…

I gained weight because somewhere along the way my hunger fullness cues stopped working. It's strange, but I don't feel hunger or fullness. I can just eat and eat and eat. An entire pizza? No problem!! The only thing that kept me from gaining even more is that my job is fairly active.

Going gluten free should help you tremendously. I have PCOS and celiac. When I went gluten free, my period went from being nonexistent to coming every 6 weeks. I highly recommend going gluten free to anyone with PCOS. It doesn't hurt to try. I eat one slice of gluten free toast every morning. I still feel great. For the…

I have a co-worker who aims to eat 800-1000 calories per day, but guess what? She is always saying how she was "bad" and she "cheated". She weighs 147 lbs and is 5'5. For the amount of calories she aims for, she should be at a much lower weight, but she isn't because she's always binging. So to answer your question, yes,…

I would definitely input the net calories. I was bummed when I learned there's a difference between net burn and gross burn because it's a large difference. Another interesting article for you... http://www.runnersworld.com/weight-loss/how-many-calories-are-you-really-burning?page=single Also, I don't think you're…

100 is too high if you are calculating net burn. Closer to 50 for a walk. Run is about 100.

I'm gluten free and I love it. I feel a million times better. I could list my symptoms, but it could take a while. LOL. They all went away with gf diet. I'm also dairy free.

I eat red meat all the time. I love it.

This should help. I feel like I'm posting this everywhere lately. LOL. Mr. Knight\s numbers are about right. http://www.runnersworld.com/weight-loss/how-many-calories-are-you-really-burning?page=single
-
Yes this makes sense if you\re calculating net burn, as opposed to gross burn. Anyone know if heart rate monitors calculate gross or net burn?
-
You're probably talking about gross burn, as opposed to net burn. Net burn is closer to 40 cals per mile, unfortunately. Sad, but true. When I first read the article below I was shocked. http://www.runnersworld.com/weight-loss/how-many-calories-are-you-really-burning?page=single

I also have PCOS and celiac disease. Funny thing happened when I went gluten free. My period came back and my stomach shrunk considerably. It's still a bit of a belly, but nothing compared to before. I also went from NEVER getting my period to getting it every 6 weeks. I also recommend that everyone with PCOS try going…

I eat gluten free. My period came back when I went gluten free. I went from getting my period maybe once a year to every six weeks. I still eat carbs, but also make sure to get lots of protein.

How big is your deficit?

I think you may be overestimating your exercise calories. You would have to be going very hard on the elliptical to burn that much in 60 minutes. There's a difference between net burn and gross burn. http://www.runnersworld.com/weight-loss/how-many-calories-are-you-really-burning?page=single

I think you are overestimating your exercise calories. Does your HRM measure net calorie burn or gross calorie burn? http://www.runnersworld.com/weight-loss/how-many-calories-are-you-really-burning?page=single
-
LOL :)
-
Do HRMs measure NET burned calories or GROSS burned calories? I would really like to get one if it is measuring net burn. In case you don't know what I'm talking about.... http://www.runnersworld.com/weight-loss/how-many-calories-are-you-really-burning?page=single

Hi everyone. Thank you for your responses. I'm sold!!!!

Wow. Once when I was dieting I was pretty insane about it. I ate very little and exercised 2.5 hours per day. I was tired all the time and ended up losing a tonne of hair. Needless to say, it was unsustainable and I ended up gaining it all back. I hope Rachel can find a balance cause if she doesn't she will gain all the…

Here is a really good article: http://www.runnersworld.com/weight-loss/how-many-calories-are-you-really-burning?page=single There is a big difference between gross and net calories burned. I still plan on running though :)

I have no idea if it can affect weight loss but I can say that I sleep way too much. On my days off I wake up, eat, go back to sleep, wake up, eat, go back to sleep... It's getting in the way of my weight loss efforts because I just can't seem to get out of bed to go to the gym. I'm actually going to the doc this week to…

Thanks guys. Those are all great reasons. I have another question since I like to ask questions. LOL. How does lifting help you get leaner if in theory you are not building muscle unless on a surplus?

Yeah I agree. Her face is what shocked me. Her body is actually not that bad and I thought she looked good until I saw her face...her body just looks slim to me which is not such a bad thing and was an amazing transformation. So if her body is ok, why did she age so much in the face? Is it the stress on her body from rapid…
