Hi there, I definitely know where you are coming from with how people comment on you looking sickly if you lose more weight and how people think of you. I used to be very obese 230+ pounds and lost weight, people always made comments to that effect. I have however maintained a lower body weight for over 30 years [ranging…

Picked a program (AllPro Beginners) Bought set of dumbbells. Bought rubber floor mats for basement floor. Watched a ton of youtube videos for proper form. Started. Ask my MFP friends who lift lots of stupid questions. Follow the Eat, Train, Progress and NROLFW groups on MFP for tips/advice I can apply to my situtation. I…

I hear you--snow this year has been too much! During the Winter I find that by using my stationary bike (spin bike style) with various interval training videos available on youtube, I have been able to maintain most of the gains from last summer when I was routinely biking 75-100 kms at a clip. I have done a few long bike…

I weigh and record daily in Excel. Take weekly averages and set trendline to moving average, period of 2 weeks. This helps to visualize the overall trend instead of seeing all of the [sometimes] wide daily fluctuations. I post to MFP only when I have seen a stable decrease for a few days.

Simply put, if you are not at a deficit you will not lose weight. It doesn't matter how the deficit is achieved; it is both necessary and sufficient for weight loss. While weight lose may be more difficult due to thyroid and other issues, the same principle above still applies. I do not have a thyroid, am on thyroid…

I believe the calories derive entirely from the bulking agents that allow Splenda to measure cup per cup the same as sugar. If you purchase the liquid form of Splenda (EZ-Sweets for example) it is truly calorie free as far as I am aware.

Okay, I did 6 miles today. I am going to try and go for it to make my goal this month.
