  • I don't stress over them. I plan my day out, including "treats" if I want one that day, but I also don't worry if I occasionally go over my goals. Its one day, not the end of the world. I don't plan "free" days and just pig out though either....not because of the calories, but because I don't feel well afterwards and its…

  • YES!!! I have Crohn's disease, luckily in remission. Fecal transplants are a huge breakthrough for those who are out of other treatment options. For other uses, like weight loss? Nonsense.
  • I imagine it depends on the class, but it can be an awesome workout. I take a class at my kids martial arts gym too, Cardio Kickboxing....generally its alternating rounds of kicking/punching (either on the bags or with a partner, and a round of body weight exercises/ab work etc (things like burpees, high 5 pushups,…

  • You'd have to look around at what is offered in your area, and decide where your comfort level is. Things like Jujitsu/MMA/Krav Maga are very hands on, close contact type classes. My kids and I belong to a gym that offers a cardio kickboxing class, its a great combo of learning the moves as well as getting a killer…
  • There is a liquid supplement too. It tastes pretty nasty but if you mix it with juice and take it like a shot, its not so bad.
  • I've never tried it myself (hazelnut allergy), I don't think I'd try it even if I could though. My niece and nephew (3 and 5) eat it every single day, and since their mother says she only feeds them healthy foods, she must believe that nutella is in fact good for them....
  • I have no allergies, yay! But I have celiac disease, along with all 3 of my kids. And I have Crohn's disease. Crohn's came along with a ton of food issues. I can't eat: Gluten (Celiac) Oats Rice or rice products (rice cakes/crackers/flour) Fish, with the exception of canned tuna. Red Meat Most nuts/seeds Most vegetable and…
  • Did the doctor do a colonoscopy? I'd push for one, the bleeding is not a usual sign of IBS, but it is of IBD (Crohn's and ulcerative Colitis) The mouth ulcers, pain and diarrhea, and everything else are too. Not trying to scare you, it's just better to check everything, just in case. I chose not to check and ended up with…
  • My kids usually have a muffin every morning (homemade, gluten free, sweetened with honey) but they also like fruit, smoothies, rice cereal or corn flakes (gluten free ones with no sugar added) I sometimes make and freeze waffles/pancakes. My daughters will eat eggs sometimes. You can try switching bit by bit. Get rid of…
  • Not just could your food be contaminated, but if decide to pack nuts or trail mix or something in your scrubs you could cause someone with an allergy a lot of problems.
  • I've fasted for medical reasons (bowel rest, and prepping for tests) but I wouldn't do it just because. Yes, you'll lose weight because you're giving your body very very few calories, but unless you have very good eating habits when you start eating again, you'll just put it back on.
  • This really is as since as "don't buy it". If it's not there, they can't eat it. They can cry, and whine and complain, but eventually they'll get hungry enough to eat what IS there. My kids drink water. It's rare they even ask for juice, maybe once a month they'll ask for some. They've been drinking it all day for so long…
  • Jason Vale has some good books, it's a good place to start. I juice everyday, but I can't consume fruits/veggies ant other way (intestinal disease) Lots of people are against juicing because it removes the fiber, but it's an easy way to get extra fruits/veggies in your body. You can protein powder after you juice, but it…

  • When I as little my favorite things were ketchup and cheese - 1 slice of white bread with ketchup and topped with cheese all melted to bubbly perfection. And tuna fish sandwich with a melted cheese slice on top. Mmmm.
  • I'd just eat hat you can, and start fresh tomorrow. Don't worry about logging today. And remember this day the next time you decide you want a grilled cheese. Sometimes we just have to miss out.
  • You can still have eggs, meats, fish, quinoa, rice, oats (make sure they're certified gluten free though, cross contamination happens easily with them) potatoes, veggies, fruits.....lots of stuff. Adding oil to your food while cooking will bump up your cals for the day. Look for higher calories cuts of meat instead of lean…
  • I meal plan and prep 2 weeks at a time but don't actually cook much of it. I cut (if needed) and bag meat in ziplock bags for each meal, then label and freeze, that way I can take out just 2 chicken breasts, or 1/2 lb hamburger instead if an entire package when I need it for that nights dinner and it's ready to use. I also…
  • ^^^^ I'm on the same med! If you mix it with orange juice it's far less disgusting.
  • Because there has been 2 years between the gallbladder surgery and now, I doubt the two are connected. Usually it's fatty foods that set off diarrhea with no gall bladder, not salad. If you just started eating salad, it might just be too much fiber all of a sudden. Try a small amount and see what happens.
  • I feed 5 people, with food allergies and Celiac disease, in Northern BC Canada, for way way too much. Usually around $250/week, so $1000 a month. We have 3 grocery stores, nothing like a Costco, and our Walmart doesn't sell meat or produce. A loaf of gf bread is $7, a container of dairy free milk is $5, $12/pack of chicken…
  • Wendy's baked potato, side salad and a grilled chicken breast.
  • I have celiac disease (medically confirmed), so do 2 of my kids. The 3rd we're waiting on testing for. So we know all about gluten lol. I have a few theories. 1) some of us actually do have celiac. Not as many as you'd think though. I think lots of people self diagnose themselves too. 2) some people have an intolerance,…
  • Are they allergies, or are they intolerances? The easiest thing to do is to make a lost of everything you can eat and focus on that instead of what you can't. And cook everything yourself. I totally understand how you feel (I have Crohns and celiac, On a good day I react to: rice (actual rice, but not rice products), corn,…
  • My kids can have the same foods I'm having if they want, I'll make them some too, but if they choose to eat something else for breakfast and then want some of mine, the answer is No. Partly because they already ate and don't need to eat my food too, and because I'm not supposed to share with them. Suppressed immune system…
  • Brain fog was one of my biggest issues, it's so nice when it clears. If you do want to get tested, you have to still be consuming gluten (or you'll need to start eating it again) all they can test for though is Celiac, you can still be gluten intolerant/sensitive and it won't show. I've heard that both Bobs Red Mill and…
  • I use Vega vanilla, and like it. But before that I used a hemp powder lol, vega was a huge step up.
  • If you decide to "go raw", do your research first. There's a huge HUGE leap between meat eater to raw vegan. Why not try vegetarian first, and see if you can sustain that in a healthy way?

  • Did you have a endoscopy or colonoscopy to look for Crohn's? It's not really something that can diagnosed through bloodwork. (I know that one from experience) And gluten didn't affect my period at all.
  • I have major texture issues. even thinking about soggy bread makes me gag, I can't eat gluten free bread because it....dissolves in my mouth (hard to explain)....it doesn't hold together. And I have celiac, so I've been bread less for a long time lol. I gag a lot on carb type foods and have to spit them out - cereal, rice…
  • You don't need to be on gluten to test for Crohns, completely separate disease from celiac.
