You could always try lifting 2 days/week and see if it makes a difference. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm not willing to give up the running or the lifting, so I'm trying to figure out what works best. I have noticed lifting heavier weights has made me a better runner. I feel a lot stronger when running and am running…

He does mention this in the book. I think he says it's due to not resting enough between workouts and/or not getting enough calories and protein. I recently started the program and although I don't have trouble sleeping, I have been tired. I've been running as well. I have a 10K in April. I've scaled back my running a bit…

I'm a 40 year old mom of 2. I have a 10 year old girl and 7 year old boy. I've been lifting for years, but wanted to try a new program. I love new challenges. I love to run, bike, and swim too. I'm scheduled to run a 10K in the beginning of April, so I'm hoping that the running won't interfere too much with my rest time…

Hi Everyone- just started with workout A today. I've been lifting for a long time, but heard really good things about this program. Did it seem strange to some of you that the first couple of workouts seem short? And the rest periods seem a bit long. I guess it' just something I'll have to get used to. Would love some…

I like to superset when lifting weights. Do one exercise, move on to another (a different muscle group), then another and repeat 3 times. I don't rest between sets. I keep it moving fast. Then I'll jump on the treadmill or bike for high intensity cardio in between each circuit. I'll usually do 3 or 4 full circuits for a…

I love lifting heavy weights. Luckily, a lot of women lift heavy weights at my gym so there are no comments. My husband couldn't believe the amount of weight I've been lifting and he says my arms look fantastic. It's nice to feel strong, so I agree with you, if you feel good doing it, keep it up!

It sounds like you're eating too little. Make sure you get your minimum calories in.

Jeez! Unbelievable! Hang in there. I'm sure your workouts are paying off. Don't worry about the scale as much as how you are feeling and how your clothes fit. And I'm sure you feel much stronger and healthier. Forget them!

I love my gym. I really don't think anyone is there to judge. We're all just trying to get in shape and we all have to start somewhere. When I spend any time looking at other people working out, it's to get some new ideas to incorporate into my own workout. Just another reason to go.....

I never followed a specific training program for my 10Ks, but I liked to know that I was comfortable running the distance. I just made sure to build up gradually and that I was comfortable with 6 miles. If you ran that 7 miles recently, I'd say stick with it a couple days a week and you'll do great. If it was a long time…
