I love the fact that If theoretically aspartame could be the cause of headaches in some people who could possibly be sensitive to it then it becomes a dangerous substance, yet I know that eating a large portion of cake or other refined sugar and carb loaded food will make me feel awful for a good 3 hours but it's still not…

For me it involves a planned trip to the shop, buying equal (has to be equal) numbers of sweet and savoury items, then eating them as fast as possible, usually before I even get home. I usually have to stop on the way home to throw the evidence in a bin otherwise I will be found out. Usually equates to about 3000 calories…

I second it, great post :) I too am food obsessed, if I didn't put weight on I would eat constantly, lots of lovely food. all sorts, healthy, unhealthy. I can eat clean, but only for a while before I really give in to the voice in my head that wants me to eat other stuff. I am a binger when I let myself. Like the OP, this…

Thanks all of you, you're right there is no way i have eaten 21,000 calories over maintenance! I also still did 3 fitness classes and 3 runs including a 10k last week so i just need to get my head down and carry on :) It really helps having people who understand what you're talking about and point out the facts to me…

I did eat more carbs last week - I'm trying to lower carbs, but not cut them completely any more - I need a sandwich now and again! Water weight would be a godsend, as long as I haven't just retained 6lb of lard suddenly I'll be happy :)

I'm pretty much the same as you - I started at 250 and am now 223 but I don't feel any different. I have been working out like a demon, I've taken up running so I know my body shape has changed but I don't need any new clothes yet, and I'm having a bad day today where I wonder if it's worth all the sweat and wanting to eat…

For me, my daily routine of "accidentally" finding myself in a supermarket, then buying large amounts of food - always had to be the same amount of sweet and savoury foods strangely (usually 3 sweet items, 3 savoury) and the whole lot would generally add up to 3000 - 4000 calories per day. This was bingeing. Somehow using…

Surely this is irrelevant? The OP is a breakfast person who needs her breakfast! Why try to push your faddy style of eating on to her. You're not reading and answering her question, you're just trying to encourage her to do something that doesn't suit. Doesn't make sense? :ohwell:

MFP only gave you 1300? I'm starting at a very similar weight and it gives me 1800 a day to lose 2 lbs a week! I would be starving only eating 1200 calories.

Thank you for that Stef - I do eat my full 1800 calories, but I found it confusing when searching on net calories as it seemed everyone was agreeing that 1200 was a magic figure! I will carry on as I am but ignore the net and eat back some of my exercise then. I really want this to work long term not just as a quick fix :)
