  • I love my dogs! I'm a serial greyhound rescuer, and we currently have two: Piri, a little black girl who is almost 7, and the sweetest thing on four legs, and Taika, who is a big, rambunctious four year old lunk. He runs into glass doors.
  • I've suffered from IBS for years (the constipation variety), and my doctor recently suggested I drink apple juice to try to get things moving. It's worked well.
  • Have acquired Zumba for the Wii, and, as soon as I can get some time alone in the house, intend to give it a good go!
  • That looks great - keep it up! The only thing I would suggest, that has really been helping me, is to drink more water, especially on days when you are eating more sodium-rich foods.
  • I've recently been properly fitted, and was gobsmacked to go from a 40DD to a 32G, having only lost about 10lbs in weight! Just goes to show that I was wearing the wrong size bra all these years. Next up? A properly fitting sports bra... ;)
  • Nommmm... any idea on calories?
  • My friend used full fat versions of everything, so the one we had on Monday wasn't as virtuous as this version, but the difference in taste is negligible. She used Cambozola blue Brie, which gave an amazing creamy texture to it. I've used Gorgonzola, as it was all I could get my hands on this morning, and, while nice, the…
  • I've had IBS since I was a kid, and maybe I should have put the "IBS" in quotes!! In my experience, doctors like to tag any unexplained stomach issues as IBS, lobbing a variety of different chemicals at it in the hope that it goes away. Some studies have suggested that a diet high in processed foods makes it better, some…

  • MFP is fantastic! It's been a real help to me, and my weightloss is slow and steady since joining. Am in the UK, but feel free to add me as a friend. :)
  • 5' 0.00" here! Oddly, for someone so short, I carry my excess weight all too well, which has meant that I kept putting off getting fit and healthy. Now I'm losing the weight, people never believe it when I tell them how heavy I am, and how much I need to lose. Personally, I can't say I like being short. I hate being barely…
  • Welcome to MFP! Also in England, and finding this site an absolute godsend. You'll do just great!
  • Tuna and coleslaw - yum!

  • I have a history of skating-related broken bones... doesn't mean I won't try again, though! ;) I was considering starting C25K soon, but jogging has always bored the pants off me, so maybe it's time to get myself a new pair of skates.
  • Struggling with this at the moment, and I had forgotten just how ravenous I generally get a few days beforehand! Last month, I forced myself to stay on the straight and narrow, but was thoroughly miserable and teasy for my trouble. Yesterday, I allowed myself some chocolate, and I have to say, it stabilised my mood. So I'd…
  • Well done! I'm please that I am already a quarter of the way to my goal, and reading stories like this really keeps me motivated!
  • Another 65 minutes today (so far) - only 683 to go in 11 days - I'm gonna hit it somehow, despite having little time from Friday through to Monday, and then back to work next week!
  • 35, have a son, and work full time, so I know where you are coming from! Feel free to add. :)
  • I've bought extra bananas to let them go overripe, just to make another loaf of this later in the week! ;)
  • I've only just added it - it's now searchable under Anise's Banana Bread.
  • Well done - that is amazing! You really are an inspiration.
  • One other thing - the oven temp is in Celcius. If you are using fahrenheit, 350-360 is where you need to be at. If you're using a gas oven, you're looking at Gas Mark 4-5.
  • Both, I think! To be sure, and to get a calculation, use the recipe part of the food section here. :)
  • 150g or 5oz, and I think it takes the total calorie count per slice up to something like 170.
  • I know I'm late joining, but seeing as walking is my main form of exercise, I figured I'd give it a go! This month, I am aiming for an average 60 mins per day walking, as I am off work for a couple of weeks, and can really give it a good go! Netx month might be different... ;)
  • Glad to hear it! I'll have to get hold of some wholegrain flour and try it as well!
  • Thanks - I think I'll give CBC a go!
  • Weekly goal: 3500 Monday total cals. burned: 533 (stepper, walking) Tuesday total cals. burned: 413 (stepper, walking) Wednesday total cals. burned: 629 (stepper, walking) Thursday total cals. burned: 457 (walking) Friday total cals burned: 597 (stepper, walking) Sat. Total cals burned: 304 (walking, stepper) Sunday total…
  • It's just got the seal of approval from my son and husband, who didn't believe it was low fat and low sugar. It's a little differently textured when using Splenda, but no less tasty,
  • Just another practical tip... might not be a bad idea to spray the inside of the greaseproof paper with low cal oil spray... I'm having a hell of a time getting the cake to peel off!!! Tastes great, though!
  • Sorry... It was only today that I had a chance to work out the conversion from sugar to Splenda! Enjoy!
