  • A lb a week is good. You don't wind up with so much loose skin as you give your body time to adjust. I am really tired today. I think I am going to make this a rest day except of course my daily meeting with Jillian. It is unbelievably hot her. Heat and humidity sap me.
  • Doesn't it fell great? Congratulations!
  • Beautiful! Congratulations. Hard work pays off!
  • Day one logging complete and I did log everything that went in my mouth and under calorie goal. I even managed to eat back most of my exercise calories. That makes me a bit nervous b/c being of a "certain age" my metabolism has slowed. Made my 10K steps even with the extreme heat. Walked to last 2 miles after dark and it…
  • Congratulations! Your arms look especially amazing!
  • 113# in 8 months? Wow! Amazing and good for you!
  • Well done! Yesterday was the halfway point for me. I am down 3.3 lbs since I started. I don't credit shred with all the loss, as I have been under my calories goals all but a couple of days. I was getting kind of stuck, so maybe this gave me a kickstart. Level 2 has me sweating like a pig and my daughter the same. I can…
  • Its a new day and a new month. Trying to log EVERYTHING that goes in my mouth. Today starts the second half of 30 Day Shred. When I finish that I will still have 21 days til Alaska, so I am going to start over and do it as a 21 Day program with higher weights and trying to do everything more full out from the beginning.
  • My goodness gracious, you would think I was drunk when I posted that! Wow at the typos. I was at my lake house and the internet was unbelievably slow and kept kicking me out. I swear I wasn't drinking! Today I am down 3.8 lbs in about 3 weeks. We are going on our annual Alaska fishing trip August 6 so I am trying to step…
  • After today's workout I am halfway through. I too, am very uncoordinated, but I can tell I am getting stronger. Level 2 is making my abs and arms sore. I hate my arms and yesterday I could actually notice a difference. The lifts with kick without putting a leg down is very difficult. The most I have done is 6 without…
  • I am in. Going on our annual Alaska fishing trip Aug. 6 and I am really wanting to be comfortable in size 14 jeans. Am pretty much a 16P (at least am out of the Ws!) and can wear one size 14 I have although it is tight. At my age weight loss is a slow go and seeing the 180s would be awesome. That would be 6.4 lbs by Aug.…
  • My daughter is on metformin as is my husband. It has definitely affected my husband's appetite. My daughter has only been on it since May when she was diagnosed type 2 and she started trying to lose weight. She has remarked her hunger has abated somewhat.
  • I always thought I had a weight issue, but looking back now I realize I was normal. My problems really started in my 40s . I yo o dieted each time the gain was more. I lost 60 lbs on Nutri System in 2008. My oldest daughter's final battle with melanoma and her passing in August 2011 led to 2 1/2 years of mindless eating…
  • I have done something similar withe the Splenda /brown sugar mix. I cook for diabetics. I go salmon fishing every summer in Alaska. The guides recommend using a bit of brown sugar . It really adds to the flavor. You an also do this using a good pre mixed salmon seasoning. Salmon is awesome.
  • Day 3 yesterday of level 2. Am improving. I could do 6 arm lift/kicks before having to get my balance. On day 1 I couldn't even do 1
  • I, too, have an ongoing clothes purge. First I get rid of anything too big. Then I starting getting rid of things that still fit, but I didn't like. I have a closet upstairs that has clothes that are too small. Some have never been worn and I bought for incentive. Now I have purged most of the things that I don't…
  • Count me in, but I don't know how to get it rolling
  • I don't expect a 20 minute exercise for 30 days is going to take off a whole lot more weight, at most a pound or 2. I can already see extra stamina after 12 days and feel stronger, especially in my arms. Level 2 is killing me. After 2 days I can't do all the moves, but I am sweating way more.
  • First day of Level 2. I feel SO uncoordinated! I kind of felt like I wasn't doing anything but I was sweating like a pig way more than I did in Level 1. Had to go back down to 3s. Hope I can master this in 10 days!
  • Today is my last day of level one. Still can't do a regular push up, but am doing great on the modified. My arms are weak and need a lot of work. Yesterday I used 5# weights on all but the overheads and I used 3s on those. The lifts with anterior lunges were hard but I made it. I am especially proud I was able to do ALL of…
  • I am on day 8 of level one and I am 59. B/C of a lower back disc problem, I have to modify anything with impact. Before I started this I had been walking and riding a recumbent bike for 4 months.
  • Right now I use 2# weights for the overheads and 3# for the rest. My arms are weak. My daughter uses 3#s for the overheads and 5# the rest.
  • I am expecting inches lost from this, not weight. It is only 20 minutes a day and even if you were somehow going totally full out enough to burn 300 calories in 20 minutes, in 30 days that is just an extra 6000 calories which is less than 2 lbs. However along with reducing calorie intake there should be a difference. After…
  • Reporting in for Day 7 Level 1. Today I raised my weight to 3 lbs for all but the over head lifts. We may extend by a few days. Daughter missed 2 days due to work and school. I was out of town but had the video with me. I told her she needed to make herself do this. It is 20 minutes.
  • Day 4 in the books! Due to my back issues I am having some difficulty with some of the moves. I just ave to ake everything lower impact. Instead of jumping jacks I just do more punches. The last ab move with the legs really strained my back. Anyone have any ideas? My disc problems are extreme lower back.
  • Day 2 in the books!
  • I most always put the meat in frozen. Yes it works.
  • I use adobo seasoning and top with lemon slices to grill. There are also some really good salmon seasonings in the seasons aisle. Paul Prudhomme's is one I have used.
  • I make chicken salad with avocado so I am going to try putting it with tuna also. Too bad I just made lunch which was grilled leftover Alaska wild salmon made into a salad with dill relish, chopped red onion and 1T. Dukes real mayo. Don't forget you do need to have your fat macros. If I am going to make tuna, chicken etc…

  • Extra lean tenderloin is very low in calories and fat and high in protein. I always have a couple in the freezer. I can put them in the crockpot frozen with 1/4 c of water and half a packet of dry onion soup mix and leave it cooking on low for 6 hours or so. You can also add veggies like baby carrots the last couple of…
