I woke up at 3 am and read stories about 9/11. What a time of horror and heroes.

I fininished. this was a great challenge! It took about 15 min and burned about 50 calories.--and I did it after dinner and now I feel energized enough to take a short walk! Thanks Auna. :)

I already did 86 minutes of walking so I think I will follow up with 9 pushups, 9 sit-ups, 9 bridges, 9 pelvic tilts, 9 knee rotations, 9 lifts of the arms and legs alternately while on my knees(can't remember the name for that, something about a dog LOL), 9 jumping jacks and 9 squats with bicep curls, elbows out, arm lift…

Congratulation on being sober and giving up smoking! That is a great accomplishment and I hope you are feeling good. How is your diet and what is your plan to get back in shape? I wish you well.

Hello, I'm a returning member also, with 30#s to lose. I am a retired nurse and really need to get back to exercising and eating healthy. That is difficult for me and I'm retired, can't imagine how hard it must be for you. I would love to hear about the life of a traveling nurse and lose those 30#s with you. Feel free to…

I have done 16/8- which is eating for 8 hours and not eating for 16 5-7 days a week. I would have a cup of black coffee when I got up then have lunch around 11-12 and dinner at 5-6 and be done eating by 7. I felt great while doing it - I'm not usually hungry for breakfast anyway. I think my body learned to burn fat, and I…

Eggs were bad, now they are good. I always ate eggs and butter and I will keep eating sugar, a quarter of a hershey bar at a time. Balance!

How old are you? I'm 5'2" and when I was in my 30's I could lose 2# per week. I did it by eating about 1400 calories a day and exercising at least 1/2 hour a day, but I was also very active, worked full time in a job that required a lot of walking, took care of 5 kids and cooked and cleaned when home. Unfortunately I put…

Helo Lodiea, Congratulations on starting your journey. I started mine (again) 4 weeks ago. I I have lost 3#s (again) and am feeling much better. I am concentrating on finding an eating style and calorie count that will help me to lose weight and keep it off. I am exercising and trying to gain muscle so I am eating a fairly…

There are so many types of exercise not found in gyms! I like Leslie Sansone videos because she has a warm up and stretch plus she has many different types of things to do. I also like walking outdoors, biking, & kayaking. I have found several strengthening routines on line, some using weights, some body, some a…

You need to see a doctor- what you are describing is not normal.

That sounds like my story- and I have been trying to get myself into a healthy lifestyle for the past 6 years! I eat well and exercise and get into better shape, then I think I will be able to do without logging and before i know it I've gained 10#s! I just came back to mfp with new motivation and am logging daily! Maybe…

Start simple. Breakfast, a dish of cereal or greek yogurt or an egg and toast, or peanut butter toast with fruit for breakfast. A salad or sandwich with some baby carrots and or fruit for lunch. A chicken breast or pork chop or small steak with frozen veggies and a sweet potato for dinner. I generally eat the same things…

maybe you need to log your food even thought you don't want to LOL. I don't want to either----but, if I figure out what I am going to eat for the day and log it while I eat breakfast- I know when to stop eating-when all the logged food has been eaten! It's the only way for me-believe me I've tried it every other way!

Welcome to MFP. I'm a 60some year old mom and grandma. Feel free send me a message or friend request. Sounds like you have a serious problem. You've come to a good place but you are also going to need the help of a physician and maybe a nutritionist. Have you been to your doctor? I really want to see you succeed and I know…

I have been a member for quite awhile, but I come and I go, sad to say. Today I've "seen the light"- as in I am not going to be healthy unless I eat right and exercise- and I will not do both consistently unless I log daily , so I am starting again, with a new name. Hope you are both successful and if you want to share…

I wear a heart rate monitor programed with my age, weight and height. It tells me how many calories I have burned based on my heart rate and these parameters. It seems to be accurate. There are many types of activity trackers and HRMs out there. Good luck!

incognito- I believe you saw it happen.

I think Calliope said it all!---Not that I want to hear it- I make great excuses and have a little cake or icecream or peanut butter- after all I DESERVE IT- right???? NOT! I deserve better- I deserve a healthy lifestyle, but only I can do it . Believe me, I am 67 years old and still gaining and losing and making excuses.…

AWESOME! You obviously have got this! Weight loss may slow down but you have been at this for 9 months so you are in a groove! You will continue to lose and as you do your energy and ambition will increase. Don't worry--be happy!

Hi - my name is Sue and I need to get fit. I walked two miles today with one of Leslie's videos- does anyone know how many steps that is?? I like her videos as they get my heart rate up a bit more than actual walking-so ---here goes!

So grateful for waking up and finding another day!----and my coffee!
