I live in IL and we do have humid summers here. I know that can't help. I have thought about some cross training or maybe strength training. I do go to a zumba class, which I think helps. I tried biking a few times about a month ago. That made me feel outta shape fast. I was wore out!

The 25 minutes was a race, but at that time I was training at 27 or 28. My last race was 30 on Saturday.

I've been running 6 days a week. In August I ran 64 miles total. Most days were around 3 miles. 3 days were around 4 miles. In the month that I had my best time, I ran a total of 70 miles with most days being about 2 miles and 4 days were about 7 miles. I can't get in the distance in the heat that I could in the cold. The…

Great job and eating healthy is definitely the best way to go! Gotta fuel the machine!!

The longest run I have done so far is 9 miles. My best 5k race was 25:35 and best 10k race was 56:11. Typically when I am just running around home on my own it's about a 9 minute pace. I try to run about 5 days a week. Weekend are long distance and through the week shorter, like 1 1/2, 2, or 3 miles.

Thank you all! I guess I have been doing some of the suggestions, just didn't know it. I usually run 2 miles 4-5 days a week before going to work and then on the weekends I pull in my long distance runs at 6-7 miles on both days. I will definitely check out the sites suggested.

I guess the old saying about everything in moderation is a good rule of thumb.

I love Dannon Oikos honey, raspberry, and strawberry. The traditional ones have more calories than the ones with the fruit on the bottom, but I think they taste better.

Found a crock pot recipe for oatmeal and it turned out pretty good. 2 cups steel cut oats 8 cups water 1/3 cup dried cranberries 1/3 cup dried apricots, diced 1 tsp. salt cook on low 7-8 hours. I drizzled honey and sprinkled cinnamon in mine too. Good and good for you!

Kashi go lean. Anything made by Kashi rocks in my book!

My goal is to be able to maintain and not gain any through the holidays!

I say it all depends on how you feel. If you feel good, run as many days a week as you like. When I first started training for a 5K, I ran practically everyday. I felt fine and wanted to build up endurance. Granted, I didn't always run 3 miles everyday in the beginning. I'd run about 2 miles or less each time. Eventually…

Runkeeper.com and the runkeeper app on my phone are awesome!

Ugh, you could be MFP twin I swear! I started out in January with going to zumba classes weighing in at 135. Then I began running in May and dropped down to 121 by July. Now I have gained about 3 or 4 lbs. since I switched to the maintain weight mode on here. But, like you have done, I have started eating some cookies and…

Tootsie Rolls! I am a chocoholic, but tootsie rolls are just fake nasty chocolate, blah! :P

I use a little pouch that has a velcro strap that goes through your shoelaces. It can hold keys, or a small mace, and identification. I think it is made by Runner's World.

My husband and I have been together for 19 years and he notices! When he puts his arms around me, he tells me that my sides feel tighter. Thus why I've been married to him for so long LoL

Any brand of greek yogurts, a banana, Kashi granola bars, grapes, 1 slice whole wheat bread with 1 tbsp. of Nutella, an orange, Reduced fat Triscuit with Laughing cow cheese wedge, cottage cheese, string cheese, an apple, yogurt raisins, or Fig Newtons minis. I have several favorites as you can see!

WOW! I've never ran that many miles in a month. I'll give it my best shot to run more than my norm tho!

My husband, myself, 2 kids ages 9 & 5, 3 dogs, 1 cat, & 2 turtles in our house and it usually costs about 700 a month at the grocery store! It is NOT cheap to buy healthier choices. But look at it this way, if you buy a cheap appliance, it quits on you sooner....you get what you pay for.

First off I want to say that it is so awesome that he's going to run with you! I started running this year and had done a few 5K's and my 9 year old son asked if he could do one. He has finished 2 with me now! I just started out running a block, walking a block for a total of about 20 minutes and a little under 2 miles.…

Yeah, I thought the vanilla was better.

I have used her brand before. It's not bad. Lower in calories that some others are. Taste is ok. I have mixed it in with skim milk, or almond milk, or just plain old water.
