I think @AnnPT77 is spot on here. I'd think that most of these drinks have similar alcohol content, but the sugar content can vary. Craft beer can be a real challenge, because the alcohol content and body can vary so very widely, from a 3% abv gose to a 12% Belgian quad.

I found a rule that seems to work fairly well for a wide variety of beer: Calories = 2.5 * abv% * fluid oz For example a 12 oz pour of a 6% abv pale ale would be 2.5*6*12=180 calories, while a 16 ounce pour of an 11% abv RIS would be 2.5*16*11= 440 calories. This is going to estimate on the low side for richer,…

On weekdays I just have a banana or tube of Greek yogurt. I don't usually like to have a big breakfast. I save my kcal for later in the day.

Unfortunately, the max heart rate calculation (220-age) is fairly useless. My HR during routine exercise goes higher than my so-called maximum. There are other links and studies, but this one seems as good as any: https://www.prevention.com/fitness/fitness-tips/a20463570/maximum-heart-rate-formula-usually-incorrect/ Her…

- Is your calorie budget too low? How fast are you trying to lose? If you're set at 2 lbs per week, could you try 1 pound per week? - Try changing how much you eat, when. Like @ninerbuff says, I don't eat much in the mornings. That leaves me more food in the evening. - Try changing your habits. Give yourself something to…

Heh. Around here the Karens are the ones judging people who aren't wearing masks 24/7.

The 1.0 release was a beta which had a lot of bugs and a poor workflow. The 3.0 release was much faster and added new features. ;)

I find it annoying when someone bumps a thread without realizing it's an old one. This is usually done by new users. The discussion is long finished, often the OP and many of the participants are gone, and everyone has moved on. It's not that big of a deal; it's an internet faux pas. There's a reason sites like reddit lock…

I'm pretty sure @TheLegendaryBrandonHarris was being sarcastic. Also, the last post in this thread was from 2016.

Heh. I was thinking this was Tim Horton's Power Fitness. That would be an interesting program indeed. I'm not joining the program, but good luck to you anyway @vegas711!

Yes, this is totally cool. You often see comments on this forum from people who have exceeded their daily goal (with a deficit built in) and worrying, even obsessing, about what this means and how they will make up for it. I think it's best to lose weight in the manner in which you want to maintain, which means sometime…

As an aside: isn't it remarkable that in our society, for pretty much the first time in history, poor people are more likely to be overweight than affluent people? That's kind of amazing. Starvation has been a scourge of mankind since we started walking upright, and within two generations we've gone from starving to…

Takis. Had some. Beer coming up any minute now.

This sounds like a sure-fire way to get burned out and quit after a few weeks. You burn fat with moderate levels of activity, doing exercise you enjoy.

My heart rate is higher than average. When I exercise hard it goes well above the simplified 220-age formula you sometimes see, and I've pushed it up to at least 200 bpm. Once when I was in the hospital they held me overnight because they were concerned about it, but after doing a dye contrast CT they didn't find anything…

I'm a pre-logger as well. I give myself some flexibility with evening snacks, which I enjoy, so I make sure I've got space in my budget for them. Dinner is usually my biggest uncertainty, so I actually log dinner one day in advance. That is, I log yesterday's dinner for today, and today's dinner for tomorrow. I haven't…

Typically on weekdays I'll just have a piece of fruit. Too much bother otherwise. On weekend days Mrs Jruzer usually makes something more elaborate - pancakes, French toast, scones, muffins, etc., and we eat together as a family.
-
I figure that the extra bites and nibbles I don't count are cancelled out by the morsels I give my dog. I cannot be dissuaded from this opinion.
-
Mrs Jruzer had a TT about 15 years ago, so I've got a little bit of experience with this. It's good that your meds have been adjusted - the Mrs still has to have hers adjusted occasionally, although they aren't changing much now. But if your meds are good, and your hormone levels are appropriate, you should still be able…

Now I want cinnamon toast.

Nothing goes against my diet. However, our AC failed last night and I had some ice cream above what I'd budgeted. Well, a lot of ice cream. It was cold and delicious.

Calorie rarefied? Calorie sparse?

I had it once, on my first trip to Japan, when I attended a conference and chose the Japanese menu. I had some great stuff, but I also had natto. Glad I had it once - never again.
