The CHEAT meal got him into trouble! "He (Assanti) tells ABC6 he lost over 20 pounds. To reward himself for that small victory, he decided to have a "cheat meal," ordering a pizza from his favorite spot, Tommy's, in Cranston. "I mean come on, almost everyone that diets has like a reward kind of thing," says Assanti. That…

I don't know what country you live in but in America there're very few involuntary programs unless ordered my a judge like ordered to Anger Management! No one said anything about forced weight loss camps.

That's interesting. It seems like there could be some kind of blood tests that could tell a persons make up or what vitamins, minerals and nutrients are deficient. Is there? I don't understand about wheat being a trigger food to illness but many swear by it. I guess because I don't have any health issues (knock on wood) I…

They have Summer Fat Camps for kids where they have almost 100% control over them and make them exercise. They also have controlled environment's for people with anorexia. So why not have a controlled environment for the morbidly obese funded by the government?

"More than 35% of U.S. adults are obese, and more than 34% are overweight. Obesity affects 17% of all children and adolescents in the United States, which is three times the prevalence from just one generation ago. Nearly 32% of children and adolescents are either overweight or obese." Source: National Institutes of Health…

Great post I haven't heard about this one. I've watched numerous medical shows about the super morbidly obese. IMO, some of them have given up all hope for any other kind of life. The obese people that were featured in each show were very well cared for by their families and it seemed like they enjoyed the attention and…

That's interesting. Here's something else I read: "His father Steven Veilette said he cannot take his son home because he won't be able to get up the stairs." http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/610627/Obese-man-Steven-Assanti-Rhode-Island-Hospital-America-Gastric-Bypass-Surgery In my opinion, it seems the only thing…

This. OP, in my opinion, why allow someone to make you and your kids unhappy. I personally couldn't put up with the smell, I'd be out of there like a shot of light. There're a lot of fish in the sea to be had rather than stick around with a Chubby Chaser. I think because he likes chubber's he might hinder you if you…

National Institutes of Health: Healthy Eating Plan http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/eat/calories.htm "To lose weight, most people need to reduce the number of calories they get from food and beverages (energy IN) and increase their physical activity (energy OUT). Bay leaves are strong and you can always use less or none. It's all a matter of personal taste. I posted the original recipe. You can tweek it to your liking. :)

I put one bay leave in a coffee grinder that I only grind spices in. OR you can leave them out completely or used crushed bay leaves that come in a jar. Bay leaves are a bit strong and you might want to use less and experiment. It's up to you and your tastes, leaving them out wouldn't effect the nutrition part of the…

Enjoy it's really good. Of course people can tweek it they want but it's good just the way it is. :)

This, I couldn't agree more! There seems to be a lot of "Bro Science" slung by want-to-be doctor's and mean spirited diet bullies who think they know more than the OPs physician. They seem to miraculously know what she's thinking and are blurting it out for all to hear and proudly demonstrate their self- important…

"Net Carbs and Other Similar Claims You've probably seen the term "net carbs" on some food packages. Other similar claims that you may have seen are "impact carbohydrate" or "digestible carbohydrate." Many food companies make claims about the amount of carbohydrate in their products. However, none of the terms above have a…

Hi candygibbons26, "Some evidence suggests that the use of green tea preparations improves mental alertness, most likely because of its caffeine content. "Sugar, which provides mostly empty calories that don’t boost heart health, can appear several times on an ingredient list because different forms of it have been used in different amounts. The term "Empty Calories" has been around since 1955 and still used today to describe food that has little or no nutrition only calories. Most empty calories promote poor health that's why health care professionals advise people not to eat them. What are Empty Calories? Today, there are a number of foods and beverages in…

"The key to eating clean is to base your diet on foods that are as natural and unprocessed as possible. That means having a whole apple instead of sweetened applesauce, old-fashioned rolled oats instead of instant oatmeal and organic, grass-fed steak instead of a fast-food burger. By eating clean, you'll consume less…

Hi MissJS1983, I eat clean and by that I mean, I eat a plant based whole food diet. I'm exercising and losing about 2 - 3 pounds a week. I'm not eating sugar, trans fats, saturated fats, hydrogenated fats or cholesterol. Those are dirty calories as far as I'm concerned. They're empty calories and have no nutritional value…
