I am down to have surgery some point later in the year, maybe. Falling off the wagon post surgery worries me. Interesting to hear experiences. How did you fall off? Habits or was there something more specific?

Personally speaking I have bought these various gadgets in the past and they just end up in a drawer eventually once the novelty has worn off. They work for some - a friend of mine has a heart rate monitor system he still uses 3 years down the line. You'll know which type you are. Good luck with your journey either way!

I have an Android phone and it allows me to have photos on my home screens. I have photos of me at my worst and at my best. It helps every time I check my messages!

I vote an overwhelming no. Tea has antioxidants and the water intake will do you good. However, you really should consider dropping the milk and drinking it black for a while. I know, I know, wash my mouth out! But I tried it for a while and now I always have it black. It feels like a better hit.

I found that cooking everything from scratch helped loads. I was able to drastically cut down on the calories and fat by missing or substituting certain ingredients like oil, butter, etc. It also helped me understand more about what I was putting in to my body.

Even when I was very overweight I would still go through periods of shoving my fingers down my throat. Even when I stopped doing that I would yo-yo terribly, starving myself for a week and then eating like crazy afterwards. It was all in my head.
