I’ll be with you all the way! xx

I’m in too. I’m in the UK and I have 90 - 100 lbs to lose
-
Thank you — that’s amazing. Inspirational stuff. I lost 7 st a few years ago. And guess what, they’re all back with me. Feeling daunted but determined to lose them all (and more) for good this time.

I have to say, I love my iPhone as a bike computer. So feature rich. My ideal set up is thus: - iPhone 5 in jersey pocket, running Strava, natch. - Wahoo RFLKT on the bars - Wahoo bluetooth sensors (HRM and Speed/Cadence) on the bike and me - Portable Duracell charger(s) for phone (if on any ride longer than 3 hours) Don't…

Hey - congrats again on completing the New Forest Audax, fabulous effort. Shame we didn't meet up. Back to the OP - nav aids. On that New Forest Ride, my mate had the route plumbed in on his Garmin 200 (the cheapest in the range) and it never missed a beat. I also had the route on the Bike Hub app on my iPhone and that was…

Great tip on cyclemeter - I didn't know that it shared to Strava as simply as that. I use the app on an iPhone 5 (which is pretty useless for battery life anyway!). The ways I maximise the life are simple. Turn off the live segment feature and the voice feedback lady, this saves 20% by my estimation. The live segment…

Try and stop me! Our planned Peak District training camp has been cancelled (due to my riding buddy's son going into hospital) so I've entered a nice long Audax on Sunday instead. 200km in the New Forest? Don't mind if I do! Would you mind letting me know if I get in by PM or posting on my wall (just in case I don't get to…

Thanks TBY - just sorry I was late to the party: http://www.strava.com/athletes/11480 "Chris S"

I use the Endura Road Overshoe (£24 from Chain Reaction atm) and I've been delighted with the performance on the bike - can't fault them. And now I'm not such a fatty I find them easier to put on too. However, they have suffered a bit from walking damage - I guess being road models, they're on the lighter side but even so.…

I've finally accessed MFP on my PC again (after almost exclusively using it on my phone) ... So now I see what it's all about!!! Shame - I'd've like to play!

Welcome Jane! Saxophone solos were a lot cooler than they are now, huh?
-
Yep - count me in

I had an AP. Seized it twice, put a micron exhaust on it (remember those?!) but still never as fast as a fizzy on its game. 40mph on the dual carriage way with your chin on the tank!

Welcome to the topic!

Well, not ALL female types have to like Duran Duran! It's perfectly acceptable.
-
1. Riding faster on my bike. The pain is the same but the times tumble 2. Seeing my triangle shape coming back 3. Someone stopping me yesterday and saying, "Wow, you look fabulous, what's your secret?" 4. Climbing into and out of trousers without undoing the waist at all! Trousers that I could barely get done up a few…

First thing. Pee. Strip, Weigh and record if down. Ignore and harumph if not.
-
Quite right! No Saturday afternoon was complete without a bit of World of Sport with ****ie Davies and On the Ball with Brian Moore.
-
We wait with breath duly and appropriately baited!

Another bump. It is prime time UK after all.

Nothing wrong with Spandau Ballet mate. They were nearly as cool as Depeche Mode and let's face it, Depeche Mode were nearly a proper band. Welcome aboard.
-
Welcome to MFP! You've taken the most important and difficult step. They keep getting easier from here.
-
No, definitely not a heffalump any more, Sam. You're already in the club. You find the big giant suits and we'll organise the Jeux Sans Frontieres again. (Stuart Hall won't be there this time, obviously)

And yes, Brian Jacks was awesome. Used to bite the top off oranges instead of peeling them ...

I met Barry Sheene at the Goodwood Revival. Top bloke, spent ages with me then said, "Oh sorry mate, I've got a race." He then climbed on his Manx Norton and promptly rode through the field from the back to win after 15 laps. RIP

David Hemery - legend. Bow down to the mighty moustache!

This needs bumping. Come on chaps!

I'd try shoving a couple of bananas in your bag when you go to work. If you feel hungry, nibble on one. They're filling and really tasty, which should help take your mind off the other stuff that's available. Once you've started to avoid the junk food it becomes easier. And that's me talking as a complete food addict.

Plus one on the swimming thing, I totally agree with all of those points. (My face gets hot too!) I've never tried outdoor swimming so that's on the list for the summer - I assume you meant open water swimming? My absolute favourite exercise/sport though is road cycling. It is awesome. It's got all the benefits of walking…
