in my case it's waiting for the stitches/superglue to do their magic before I apply nads to saddle... and no - I haven't been for "the snip" - it was a cyst that I needed excising, owing to it's position...
it's not the most comfortable I've been, and I apologise for being a trifle grumpy at times recently.
Still - it's better than looking like a pawnbrokers sign...

Sorry about the cyst...yikes.
Already learning a lot....new phrases "CBA days" and "spitting out dummies". Good stuff!0 -

I'm one of those "walking wounded" myself to be honest. Though, in fairness, it's not walking I have a problem with, just sitting on the saddle...
/excuse
I saw a bloke on the road on one of these the other day...
You don't get many of them to the pound up in deepest, darkest Yorkshire I can tell you! :laugh:0 -
Is there room or interest for a fifth team? If so, I want dibs on 343.
Much as I hate to disappoint anyone, unless we get a full rosta for a 5th team, I'm afraid you're "first substitute" in case someone drops out mate...
No worries. If a spot opens up, slide me in. Strava is ready to go.0 -

Question re reporting:
Did I see somewhere that I should change my Strava account over to km vs. miles? Or do we just report on the form in km?
Sorry if I missed answer by not reading thoroughly.0 -

Changing your strava account to metric is the easiest way for you to get the distances and altitudes in km / m.
My account is always logged in in metric, so that's how I see everyone's data, but if you convert manually, you run the risk of either under-declaring and losing distance or worse still over-declaring and having the entire ride disallowed. So, it's easier to just change your settings under display preferences.0 -

Almost missed the sign up. Only realised when Isaw ll the new Avtars for MFP friends
Put me down please.
332 ok for you ?0 -
Did you know that there's no such standard unit of measure as a 'mile'?
There are 'Nautical miles', but not 'miles'.
There is a standard unit of measure for a Kilometre!
Wouldn't it be so much easier if everything was measured in Kilometres?
Oh an don't forget 'The Rules'! http://www.velominati.com/the-rules/0 -
Rule #24 to be specific :laugh:0
-
I agree we should all be on km. But we're not... No problem to change over my Strava acct. I mostly look at GarminConnect for my own stuff.
I like these rules better:
http://kolotc.wordpress.com/2014/04/18/the-rules/0 -
ultimately it doesn't matter which rules you quote, there's one reason why it's in Km's and Metres. Because that's how the Giro is measured, and therefore, that's how my challenge is measured :bigsmile:0

I've finally accessed MFP on my PC again (after almost exclusively using it on my phone) ...
So now I see what it's all about!!!
Shame - I'd've like to play!0 -
Weather is not looking too good for the prologue tomorrow but I will try (team 2!):glasses:0

I'd still ride and log TBH Chris, as we usually have at least one person who hasn't read the rules, and can't understand/won't comply with the logging requirements. And as one or two old-stagers will remember, I have NO qualms about showing them the door and drafting someone else in...0 -
I'd still ride and log TBH Chris ...
Try and stop me!
Our planned Peak District training camp has been cancelled (due to my riding buddy's son going into hospital) so I've entered a nice long Audax on Sunday instead. 200km in the New Forest? Don't mind if I do!
Would you mind letting me know if I get in by PM or posting on my wall (just in case I don't get to access the boards)? Sorry to be a pain.
Cheers,
Chris0 -

Time to ride, let's be careful out there...0 -
Random question,
for those of us that commute during the week to and from work, are both our rides going to be accepted if saved separately or are we going to have to keep strava/GPS open for the day so that rides are recorded as one ride with a large break in the middle?0 -

Record them separately, add the distances, times and altitudes together and declare a single line total value, but with 2/3/howevermany url's composed the total. Same goes for anyone on a big ride, who want to break the ride into a few sections if they're worried their phone is a little flaky, or they just don't want to have a big pause in the middle of the recording while they stop at the pub for lunch.0 -
I'm always fashionably late to the party. Feel free to add me to the alternates list. I will read up on the ruulz.
