Yep, I think I'll start roasting!!

70F is just about 21C.... sweater weather for me!! I'm a lizard though; perfectly happy up to about 32C/90F

I've found that men feel the cold less than we do, generally. I've also just been reminded that I'm fast approaching THAT age where hormones start to mess with the temperature gauge *sigh*
-
:) Great, thanks. LOVE hot chocolate
-
It's 20C out and I'm wearing 2 jumpers... I AM hypothyroid though, so perhaps I should just expect to feel the cold more? (I am being medicated)

Because I'm an idiot? I go over fairly regularly depending on how much exercise I do (I use a HRM) and am maintaining, which is fine. I'm just really nervous of putting any weight on after having got this far and perhaps this is my mistake? Not sure. It's quite possible that I AM an idiot ;)

Fine. Call me a liar. I know what happened. Have you ever been to Argentina? Hmm? Not ONCE has a cyclist called out to me. Not once. So what's the problem in this case? So am I a liar or what? Please read the entire thread. I have taken on board what people (cyclists and runners have said) TBH I think aiming your bike/car…

*Respect!*

Ha ha, well, horses aren't really designed for heat (great big muscles, low surface area to volume ratio), so they can suffer very badly, and need some very proactive cooling down after strenuous exercise in high temperatures..... bet you always wanted to know that (not) ;) ;) Thanks for the other info though, I might…
-
Wow! That's ... well... a bit mad, to tell the truth!! Thanks for the info, it's very interesting :)
-
Thank you, that's really interesting. I need goals as well. At the moment the goal would be to run 10km in under 60mins... long way off, but I like a challenge.
-
Do you run different distances on different days? If so, how do you alternate? thanks :)
-
Really? Nothing at all?
-
Hahahaha, wonder if you can log it on MFP? :p

Sorry ONE cyclist really ticked me off by riding directly at me. Others have been very close, but not that bad. I found this irritating because there was bags of room to avoid shaving my legs. HOWEVER, I now understand the cyclists POV better and will a) exercise more tolerance and b) endeavour to get out of the way.
-
If I could refer you to my post immediately above yours ^^
-
Aw, How sweet of you to offer :) Thank you :) :) Thanks everyone for the input; cyclists and runners alike. I shall endeavour to be a bit more tolerant and stay out of the way! :)

It was my understanding that it is correct protocol to run against the traffic so you can SEE cars coming at you. I live in Argentina where drivers pass narrowly at the best of times. I'm not comfortable with them approaching where I can't see them. Also... how do I avoid them if I can't see where they're at?
-
No, you're right, I will get out of the way/avoid in future. It was the intimidating attitude of the cyclist that angered me more than the actual yielding and wondered if anyone else had had similar experiences. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have tried to run a rugby player off the road....
-
That made me smile, but it IS very interesting, thank you :)
-
No darting required. I've explained that there is plenty of room for everyone. The road is wide and there are very very few cars. If there were, OBVIOUSLY I would get out of the way - but more likely I wouldn't even be running there.
-
Oh? LOL
-
I've explained that it's a route used by walkers as well as runners and cyclists. I forgot the rollerbladers. There is VERY little traffic, (aside from the homicidal cyclist) which makes it one of the safest routes in my area.
-
I'm looking into it. Off road kills my feet though, which is why I run on roads. FTR, If I saw there was traffic coming up behind the bike, or if it were difficult for a cyclist to pass me safely, of COURSE I would get out of the way. I resent being 'shoved' out of the way, though, when there is room for everyone.
-
No sidewalk and also masses of time and space to move 2 ft into the empty road. It's the arrogance that irritated me. I don't handle attempted intimidation well...
-
I run against the traffic because I KNOW that drivers pass to close and I'd rather see them coming than have them come up behind me. I didn't expect some MAMIL to pee all over the road when there is tons and tons of space. Especially on a Sunday. If they shouted that they were passing then that would be great, but they…
-
This is a very long, straight, uninterrupted stretch of road with very little traffic and no traffic lights. They had tons of space and time to move. I didn't think they WOULD aim for me until they were right THERE.
-
People walk along that stretch of road as well. I'd have to ask them if they've been at the receiving end of a stroppy cyclist
-
Nope.
-
Yes, they really do! I couldn't believe it myself. I don't think it's assault unless they actually hit me though, is it? Not keen to find out what that feels like and surely retaliation if they haven't hit me is also assault? :(
