Rochester. I used to love to bike but have been away for a couple of years due to an illness. Now I want to get back into it. So any easy riders beginners south side I would meet up with if interested in groups.

Feel Free to ad me also. I am kind of staring over again also. Did very well the last time here so hoping the same results this time.

After almost hitting 1000 days in a row I fell off the wagon, gained weight, lost friends, and need a kick start to get back on the wagon. Add me if you don't mind a gentle old guy who use to do a lot of bike riding.

Rochester here too

Spend no time reading this post or even thinking of this. The advice is worthless when she has no idea of your family nor is constructive You just kep a positive attitude going forward.

dang it. You just had to say it didn't you?

Well don't take this wrong but from the pictures I think you are doing just fine. :blushing:

You can do it. My first ride three years ago was about 6 city blocks. When I realized it was all up hill to get back home I had to walk it. Today I am 60 pounds lighter and have done 3 100 mile trips and last year I rode a total of 4200 miles. Just ride

What's that saying, "Anything more than a handful is just waste" :)

I use the Cliff Shot Bloks also. The amount you take should correspond with what you are burning. Carbs is equivalent to the fuel tank in your car. I don't care how strong you are you have to refill you tank on longer rides. Me thinks you are light on how many you take. Do some research I wish I could find an article I…

Gee I seldom take bike rides less than two hours. Some mornings I get up and Kick box for an hour and then in the evening ride my bike for 2 to 3 hours. I have been on my bike over 6 hours at a time. I have never ever thought I was being hurt by going over two hours. And I am old.

This, in fact she snores so loud I have gone to a different level of the house

If I know it is going to rain I usually won't go out on my bike. However I have gotten caught in some pretty good storms including a bad hail storm one time. It's not that bad.

Very good advice given above. Get a nicer bike and make sure you get a fit included in the price. You will enjoy it more and eventually be able to go on much longer rides. As Zoom said I also run with a Garmin FR60 and bike with an Edge. You can upload much of it to many different programs out there I use Garmin Connect…

Keep it going and don't ever ever ever give up. You loss is just a start and while you have a ways to go you can do it. Don't give up. This is from a good friend of mine here on MFP. Since getting this link a few days ago I have watched it about ten times. If this guy can do it so can we. Don't give up.…

No don't lose any more weight. As others said continue eating healthy and find some type of weight training. If the big weights scare you I have found the resistance bands do a pretty good job. If you have a Farrell's extreme body make over in your area it is a wonderful program that also includes eating.

Riding my bike last summer I found my troubles related to wearing bib biking shorts. If I wear the shorts I don't have any issues. So my bibs hang in the closet.

I used to carry the pepper spray that you can get right at your local bike shop. And I have used it it twice. I always use my water bottle firt but if they don't quit then I used the pepper spray. One dog was on a pre ride and when I came back a week later instead of chasing bikes he was up on the lawn just watching all…

Have an idea on how much you want to spend and then visit two or three of your Local Bike Shops. Tell them what you are planning on doing and they will help you out. Make a list of questions to ask each and plan on going back to each of them. Eventually you will learn to like and trust one of them dealers over the others.…

You can pick this brand up at Target. Comes in a couple of flavors and larger containers also. An extremely good source of energy before and after my long bike rides. http://www.justinsnutbutter.com/

As was mentioned above is the bike the right size for you and then having a proper fit.

Firm is better and no bolt ons

Awesome well done. You look amazing

Might be mostly due to being a new runner but stretch before as others said but even during your run stop and stretch every so often. Then ice paks a couple times during the day. Massage with a milking action also as recommended above
