  • Welcome and hope you enjoy this website!
  • Congratulations on a great start! How great to have all the support of your employer and friends! This website is great--if you look through the success stories you will see that there are a lot of people that have lost over 100 pounds and are maintaining it successfully. Just stick with it. There will be ups and downs but…
  • Be sure to take a starting photo and make yourself some mini goals--5 or 10 pounds at a time. There are some amazing people on MFP that have lost over 100 pounds, read the success stories. Make some friends on MFP to chat with and share problems and successes. Try to log on everyday and log your food regularly. If you…
  • Great job. Your smile says it all. Keep up the good work!
  • That is amazing! You are an inspiration to all of us!
  • I usually think things will last 3 or 4 days in the refrigerator, so I would freeze half of them. Then you can take them out and unthaw whenever you need them. They could last longer, but I would do that just to be safe.
  • I originally joined in 2007 and while I logged my food, I didn't realize that there was a whole community of people here to help keep you motivated. When I came back in 2011 I added some friends, made a commitment to log in regularly and exercise regularly. Reading the success stories is also motivating! As far as how to…
  • The Macy's in our area has a "professional" bra fitter there most of the time. I went there after I had lost weight. She not only measured me but she went and picked out several styles for me to try. I get a little overwhelmed trying to find a good bra so this was really helpful. You can also try on some with padding and…
  • Very funny story! I would love to see the before and after pictures in the swim suit too! You have worked hard and you deserve some new swim suits!
  • I would try to add a few more minutes every time you workout and it should get better. If not, you could try to get either a padded seat cover at a bike shop or some padded bike pants. Both of those would help. I have been taking spinning classes for over ten years and remember being sore when I first started but I got…
  • Very cute! Kids will love them, too!
  • I think I would rather bring a bag of protein powder to work and put in a scoop to get the protein. It would be easier too!
  • You look great! Keep up the good work, it really shows!
  • I love making Chocolate Chip Chick Pea cookies. They actually taste great: There are lots of recipes online. Here's a link to one: http://leahsthoughts.com/deceptively-delicious-chocolate-chip-cookies/
  • My Mom used to like to go to McDonalds so I would have their $1.00 cheeseburger and a diet coke. (Skip the French fries altogether). When we are traveling sometimes I have the Southwest Salad, I think it is about 550 calories and have a diet coke.
  • Just want to say, don't be down on yourself. Take small steps to get to your goal. I weighed 180 at one time so you are not too much more than I was. Take small steps to get to where you want to be. Here are a few things I would do: 1. Subscribe to a healthy magazine to get some ideas of good food and exercises. This will…
  • This reminded me of when I was working. My boss loved donuts and would bring them in at least three times a week. We knew we shouldn't eat them but couldn't resist. I am sure this contributed to my weight gain when I was in my 40's. My boss ended up not making it to his 65th birthday. He had diabetes and a heart condition…
  • Thanks for sharing. I bought some Tahini last week for an avocado wrap recipe that I made.I This looks yummy--I am going to try it!
  • I have a smoothy every morning with 1 cup of a combination of berries--strawberries, raspberries & blueberries, 1 scoop of protein powder, 1 cup of almond milk (unsweetened 30 calories), 1 Tbsp. chia seeds, 1 Tbs. flax seed. 1/2 banana. Add a glass full of ice cubes and mix together. Sometimes I have a pumpkin smoothy, add…

  • My daughter's sister in law has been on it for a while and she has lost about 80 pounds. She isn't on MFP but she is very happy about the program. Good luck!
  • I made Black Bean and Pumpkin Chili from Taste of Home Magazine a few weeks ago. It was so good. Here's the recipe: http://www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/black-bean--n--pumpkin-chili I also make a Crockpot Beef Stew often. I just purchase one of those seasoning packets for Crockpot Stew. Chop up one onion, three or four…
  • Way to go! It is a great feeling isn't it! You should be proud of yourself!
  • That is an awesome story! Congratulations! That dress was meant to be yours. Now you should post the photo.
  • That is such a wonderful story. I am so glad that the two people said something to you. You should be so proud of yourself. By the way, have you taken measurements. I bet you have really toned up. Congratulations!
  • You look awesome! The dress is adorable and you look so proud! Keep up the good work!
  • I am 5'5" and currently weigh 143. My goal weight was 140 and my highest weight was 180. I am 64 years old and am wearing a Chicos size 00 or 05 which Is like a size 6 ( I think). I was thrilled to get to the size 8 and would be happy if I can just stay at the weight I am now.
  • Welcome to MFP. It is a great site. Logging your foods and having friends really works. I am 64 years old and have lost 24 pounds since last August 2012. I plan to keep logging even though I am close to my goal. I am a mom of two daughters and grandmother of five (three boys and two girls). If you would like a friend, feel…
  • What a great idea. You will not only be giving your husband a nice surprise but what a nice gift for yourself. If you can afford it try to get a personal trainer or try to join a gym and start going to some classes. That will not only take up some time but help you lose the weight faster and lose more body fat. Keep…
  • I have been doing this for 10 months now. I remember that when I first started, I couldn't believe how slow the weight loss was. I was keeping the calories low, logging everyday, exercising two hours a day (most days) and still it was slow. I just kept going because I knew something had to happen eventually. I finally…
