  • SO close! My goal was 80. I did 78.23 miles. Still, pretty impressive for the former couch potato.
  • I set my goal at 80 miles, and checking my Fitbit today, I am at 73.17 as of yesterday. If I do 3.41 today and tomorrow, I'm good. Heading out to walk!
  • 3.64 yesterday, added to 13.47 previously logged 17.11 miles so far this month. Average 2.44 a day...right on target!
  • I'm in! 6/1 1.63 miles 6/2 1.56 6/3 1.41 6/4 4.03 6/5 2.14 6/6 2.70 Total this month 13.47 miles. Goal? 80 miles- I'd better step it up!
  • That's fabulous! Loose clothing is always a reason to celebrate! And go shopping- which will be fun, I bet!
  • ^^^^THIS^^^ You know, when I first started here, I was horrified at the replies given to some seemingly innocent questions. Now, not so much....same old, same old, OMG how many times have I heard this!!!! If you're not counting calories and WEIGHING your food then why are you here?
  • I don't weigh my food but I try to always choose the option in MFP with the most calories. Maybe I am underestimating portion size. But I don't want to weigh my food - I don't have time for that. [/quote] ^^THIS^^ is the reason.
  • OMG....laugh out loud funny.
  • Man Candy? Where? Seriously, can someone go make popcorn? This is such fun!
  • We have truly become sisters of the scales! I look forward to your entries- you add a little bit of yourself, which makes it SO interesting. Stay the course, my friend.
  • Good morning! I'm pretty happy- still a lot more to do, but I'm almost half way there! Stay the course, MFP! Starting MFP weight 254 on January 19 Challenge start weight 240.8 Current weight 217.6 Challenge weight loss 23.4 Total loss 36.4 lbs.
  • I received two free bars (FB offer, I think- signed up because everyone was raving about them)- cookies & cream and choc chip cookie dough. JMO...I thought they were thoroughly disgusting. Are they supposed to be sticky and pliable, like play dough? And what is that taste- is that the stevia? I threw it away (cookie…
  • "Counting calories is quite easy. If it isn't a liquid, it shouldn't be measured, it should be weighed. I used to measure my foods with spoons and cups, and when I finally bought a scale, I couldn't believe the difference. A cup of cereal for example, is no where near the real serving size in grams. Kitchen scales are…
  • All of the above! It's a staple of my prepper pantry, and I try to rotate it - I use ONE can a month. I open a can, cut/weigh it into 1 oz. portions (12 portions/can; Spam Lite has 55 calories/oz., regular Spam is 70/oz.; it's kept in the refrigerator in a baggie), and I use it diced in scrambled eggs, sliced on my version…
  • 27 lbs. in 11 weeks. Started at 254, 64 years old. I LOVE MFP!
  • I'm still here- thanks for the reminder, Charlie! I'm down 27 lbs. Hoping That I will hit 30 lbs. at this Sunday's weigh in :-)
  • I don't get over here to the message boards very often, and am so glad that I did today, to read your post. You really are FABULOUS! Keep doing what you're doing- it's working for you! I'll see you at the finish line!
  • WOWZA! Your pictures are such proof positive of your progress (say that 3 times fast LOL!)! God bless, keep up the great work- your results are very inspiring.
  • Thank you, my fitness pals! I love feeling so good...oops, time to go for a walk!
  • This may seem like a silly question, but do you need to change the battery in your scale? When mine needs changing, I can weigh myself 10 times in a row, and get a different reading EVERY time. With a 10 lb. spread between high and low!
  • ^^^^ I was going to suggest these! (Anything pre-portioned/single serve is a good thing). And these really are yummy!
  • Great message! Congrats on that impressive month of weight loss. With your can-do attitude, I have no doubt that you'll be successful. Good luck on your journey!
  • WOWZA! What a wonderful success story. Thank you for sharing- it gives me a little push this morning!
  • No secret, really. But, if you want to know what I do.... I weigh/measure/log EVERY single thing that goes in my mouth. It is amazing what makes a "serving" size! I don't have a "cheat day", but I do fit a candy bar into my day occasionally :-D A single Tic Tac has 10 calories. A handful??? I drink water. Lots of water.…
  • I'm in! And I WILL do it!
  • Eat chocolate. And whatever else you want. Measure and weigh (or use the nutritional info), LOG that food, water and exercise, don't go over your caloric goal, and MOVE!
  • Don't know- I'd ask in the tech support forum, rather than have it buried in this thread. :-D
  • BRAVO!!! Isn't it GREAT!!! I swear, I could have written your post. Started 1/19 at 254. I feel so good. Keep weighing, logging, moving- and I'll see you at goal!
  • I'm 64, live in NH, and have been here for 5 weeks. After trying every "name brand" diet out there, I'm here, doing it the old fashioned way, counting calories! I am loving this life! My FitBit Zip is arriving Wednesday- yeah! I walk daily at the grocery store- my bum hip screams at me if I walk long distance without…
  • Honestly, I don't see how anyone can do this w/o a food scale. I measure out, for example, cereal. The box says 3/4 cup (31 g.) is a serving, for 130 calories. Well, (I just tested this out) my 3/4 cup weighs 45 g. 45% more. So my "serving" is actually 188 calories! Same with meats, cheese, veggies, fruit, nuts- I weigh…
