I maintain around 1500-1800 calories a day and I've been doing so for over six months now. It it enough for me, I feel better than I ever have, and for me that makes it pretty easy. Also, as my body has changed so has my appetite. I do not feel deprived at all in fact! Of course there are days I far exceed my usual intake,…

Favorite pre workout snack for me is always a banana.

I go to the gym but I also have dumbells that I use at home when I can't make it to he gym for whatever reason. No excuses. :). I recommend the JEFIT app. There are lots of workouts you can download and they all have instructions. The one I use pretty often right now is called " Dumbell-Only Full Body Home Workout".

I ran into someone I had not seen in a long time. He came up to me and said, "Wow! I almost didn't recognize what's left you!"

I stumbled on your post a few days ago where you were asking if you looked too skinny. I was somewhat concerned, especially after reading further and getting confirmation that you are in fact recovering from an eating disorder. I suffered with anorexia as a teen and relapsed once as a young adult so I was worried if people…

I totally understand the sentiment that long term relationships make you fat! It's really easy to slack off and develop bad habits when you have a "partner in crime" so to speak. It's exactly what happened to my husband and I so you're not alone, not at all. I've heard people say you find someone to get fat and happy with.…

I read once that sweating more is a sign of fitness. Like if two people roughly the same size do the same workout the one in better shape sweats more. I have no idea of its true or not and it seems to me like there are an awful lot of variables to account for but it could make sense.

I'm somewhere between 5'2" and 5'3"... I though I was taller, lol, but I guess my dad just shrunk.. My goal is set to 124lbs but I think I'd really like to be around 120 but that's subject to change I guess. I care more about bf%. My profile pic is me at about 130lbs and somewhere around 29% bf when I use a measuring tape…

I worry about loose skin too... I have some below my belly button. I don't know really if anything can be done to prevent or shrink loose skin other than surgery or time. I prefer time personally. I look at it the same way I do stretchmarks, being that it likely has more to do with genetics than anything else. But when I…

Don't get discouraged and give up! I'm just chiming in because that's the biggest mistake I made when trying to loose weight. I figured why bother even trying if my weight will just stay the same. Keep at it. :)

8 or 9 years ago I lost a lot of weight on slim fast to get ready for the beach. The problem was after my vacation I stopped using it and all the weight came back. And I'm not sure but I think I was worse off than I was to begin with because I lost muscle as well.

I used to be a runner. This was back when I was a teen on the cross country team. I loved it. If I didn't go for a run I felt antsy and trapped. Running made me feel free. Perhaps this is why some feel that real runners run outside. It's different now that I've doubled my lifespan. I'm struggling mentally and it doesn't…

I wouldn't touch sardines so there's that. I use protein shakes on days my intake is low. I'm not sure if it really has a benefit over other proteins but I just use it to supplement.

I looove ice tea, I drink it every day but I prefer unsweetened so I don't even bother logging it. Yesterday I accidentally grabbed lemon and it took up almost 200 calories. Try making the switch to unsweetened ice tea. No artificial sweeteners, no carbonation, and no calories. I have to have my cup or two of coffee in the…

I was still over weight last time I received a compliment from a family member.

Just do it! I wish I hadn't waited to lose a few more pounds before starting strength training because I'd be further along. What are you waiting for?
-
It's just not my style. I'd rather spend that kind of money on something else. But I do suggest a camisole. Have fun wearing your shirt.

Thanks for all the replies and clarification! I think I have DOMS so often due to years or poor nutrition and fitness. I was a squishy weakling but I'm trying to change things.
-
I should have clarified what I meant about waiting 48 hours or until all muscle soreness is gone. I was asking about weights for that bit. Sorry, I had questions about DOMS for both weights and cardio. :p

I'm 5' 3.5" and my goal weight is currently 124 because when I started using MFP I thought a 20lb loss was a good goal. The highest weight I saw on a scale was 156 but that wasn't my highest weight, I just stopped stepping on a scale. I honestly don't know what my goal weight is. I will probably adjust my goal down to…

Thank you! I did a search on running psychology and it turned up this wonderful link: http://www.runnersworld.com/race-training/tips-harness-motivation I don't dread running, I have no problem lacing up and heading out the door. My body feels fantastic afterwards. And as much as I might want to stop while I'm running I…

There are honestly not many forms of exercise I would actually consider fun. Zumba is fun and I go to a class about once a week when my schedule allows but as much as I enjoy it I do not get the same bang for my buck no matter how much I throw myself into it. I consider at home strength videos (like Jillian) more fun than…

Treadmill sometimes (that's how I figure my pace) but mostly I'm outside now that it's warmed up. I'm running for cardio, for charity, for endurance, and to lower the deductible on my health insurance. Someone who understands!

I tend to get really hungry after I work out so I just plan on it. I hate exercise in a fasted state so I just split up what I'll be eating. For example, scrambled egg whites before a morning work out and a bagel after. If I go to an evening class I just plan on eating a late dinner that night. I might end up eating an…

*edit* Noticed you had the dates going back from most recent... I do this too around a certain time of the month.

I don't know for sure because I did not actually weigh myself until I noticed a visible difference. In the past I always gave up because I was dieting and the scale wasn't moving. I used to tell myself that I'd rather not diet and weigh the same than diet and weigh the same. Logging helped me get over this. Even if I…

I have the same problem with too much fat and too little protein. I ditched my coffee creamer for skim milk and started eating more egg whites. Not that the yolk is bad, but removing it did help increase my protein without the fat. *edit* Just saw that you're eating a protein bar for a snack.. I do that too but make sure…

Ugh, that reminds me of prom court in high school!! I simply wouldn't want to participate in it at all. If someone is loosing inches they're loosing inches and it shouldn't matter if it's 1 or 2 or 3... Everyone making progress should feel like a winner. I would feel better if someone I hadn't seen in awhile complimented…

When I see someone overweight I have never never wondered if it was from eating out or eating in. Lifestyle or medical condition maybe.
