@MarziPanda95 I'm trying to find this post where MFP are asking/talking about gender identity, but I can't find it! Do you know where I should look or which search terms might work?

My weight has been going up a bit lately! I've been busy, which means chronic illness prevents me from using my spoons for good food management and exercise, bah.

@Byronic_Ryu Thank you for the congratulations! Surgery has been a huge relief to my physical and mental health, and I'm glad of it every day. I'm sorry you have to deal with horrible dysphoria, blaeueueuegh it's rubbish. :(

I had endometriosis, a little bit in my cervix. I hope this is not too disappointing but for the year or two before I had a hysterectomy (uterus and cervix gone, overies still in) I used MFP and ate healthier. I can definitely say that diet and exercise had no effect whatsoever on my endometriosis. Edit: I should add that…

I can relate to this a lot. After I got top surgery my weight stopped bothering me nearly so much. I'm now just trying to lose so I can fit into all the clothes I own! For some reason even having a hysterectomy reduced my physical dysphoria. I also hear you so hard on the gender thing here on MFP. I'm set to female because…

@wikkidwanda @zeroh13 I've been vegetarian for quite a long time, so I am... *reasonably* aware of what's proteiny, though I am not amazing at it. Inspired by your comments I just looked up grams of protein per 100g for some things to put into my magical spreadsheet: Chick peas: 364 kcal, 19g protein Kidney beans: 333…

When you exercise your body needs more fuel, and that means you get hungry. Being hungry a lot or going "over" on your calories do not make for a happy brain or a sustainable food-exercise situation for many people (like me). If I work out and then don't eat some protein and aim for my calorie goal, I feel terrible for a…

Thank you, @annemmr and @wikkidwanda. :) My daily check-in is... I just woke up! For the first time in a few weeks, I have been eating at a calorie deficit for three days running. I'm pleased with that but half-expecting to go over again today. The weird part is, for the entire time I was consistently eating over my…

For the past week I have been feeling really down, and using sweet treats as a lure to get me out of the house. Good for the whole fresh air and exercise, not so good for the calorie goals. ;) I'm also investigating my inability to ignore sweet stuff in my cupboard, since I have excellent discipline in every other aspect…

I won't. :) There will be plenty of questions that work well in the international places, I'm sure. I just like to take the more local approach a lot.
-
@KarenJanine Thank you, good advice. Also I've joined the group you mentioned - thanks!

@999tigger I don't have a question yet, but a lot of the things I'm curious about are things where UK-specific answers would save a lot of time, and I'm getting a bit fed up of asking questions and having a bunch of USians say, "well, I'm in the US and we have blah blah equivalent, and we get it from blah blah shop that…

That is really cool. :) I am currently pondering on how I really struggle with your third point, stopping at one mouthful of tasty-yet-calorific things. It really is like a total lack of self-control, like I think one thing and my body does another. "I don't need another truffle!" *reaches for truffle* ... y'know? I'm…

@shiftynj Ahhh, so it's not a very easy question to answer for an individual then. I'm not a woman but I've got a lot of oestrogen, so I'm guessing there would be a lot of similarities for me with women when it came to measuring whether it's fat loss or muscle loss or both. For me, I have noticed that my arms and legs are…

I didn't know this thread was here but I like the idea, so I'll try it out. Here I am. :) I've got chronic illness stuff going on of a vague and unhelpful nature, and the past few days have been something like a flare-up? So I've had to sleep in the day a lot, and I've not been able to move around much. 1,000-3,000 steps…

@annemmr - how do you know whether you're losing fat or muscle? I'm losing about 1/4 kg per week, maybe a little less, and I have no idea whether it's fat or muscle!

I'd be interested to know if we actually do burn more in the week leading up to menstruation, and I'd love to know why! The hunger itself must be a hormonal thing, because when I was on hormonal birth control I was constantly hungry for a good few months - plus, I no longer menstruate (no uterus) but I still have cycles…

Post-op nonbinary person here. :) (Agender, they/them pronouns.) I'm working off some weight that I put on after my surgeries, and it's going... reaaasonably well!
