sorry, posted in wrong thread!

sometimes when i go clothes shopping as a reward, i'm frustrated if i'm the same size as before (like- i've been doing this for x weeks, i should be tiiiiiiny by now!) so i think a good alternative for those times is a new accessory- a pretty scarf, an inexpensive piece of jewelry, etc. i also reward myself by getting a…

cool profile pic by the way. do you often thrown money out of buses?

why would you want to take the question down? you had a legitimate question, you got legitimate answers. the answers just happened to be 'no way would i try that!'

make some for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

ha this was my thought exactly. people are always saying something like, "it's not a diet! if you're dieting, you're bound to fail. all you have to do is eat fewer calories than you burn!" lol. i call eating less food than i want- a diet.

i can't stand tuna, but i make tuna patties for my husband. mix 1 can tuna with 1 egg, and enough bread crumbs to hold a patty together. add whatever spices you want. form into patties and pan fry.

i don't think about food all day, but i think that's just because i work many hours and am always very busy (not just a desk job... then i probably would eat all day!) maybe make a list of activities you like to do (doesn't have to be active ones, just ones to keep you busy) in order to keep your mind off food.

cool idea! i'm gonna go find 24 pounds worth of stuff...
-
you look waaaay less than 180! i'm also 5'2" and i looked nowhere near as good at 180...

Thank you! I can't stand when people use the "muscle doesn't weight more than fat" line and think they're so smart. It's even worse than people who pick on grammar all the time.

that happened to me in the way beginning as well. i think i was just on adrenaline from the feeling of "hey! i can lose weight!"
-
i was doing really well without external motivation, when i became pregnant and gained it all back. it was so hard to find the motivation to do it all over again! so i decided i would reward myself with a prize for every two weeks of logging. NOT even keeping to a calorie limit, JUST logging (wanted to really break things…

before: let me quickly eat that before my mind tells me not to during: and me quickly eat THAT and THAT and THAT before my mind tells me not to. oh, i am going to regret this. well never mind that now. quickly eat it, before you get a hold on yourself. after: i did it again??!

in for the lego.

i keep shabbat too, and this is hard. (especially because you can't use a computer or even a pen to log anything!) i eat at a higher deficit from sunday-friday. that way i "bank" calories for shabbat. i'm losing a half pound to a pound a week, so so far it is working (just gotta have patience!)

I also lost weight and then gained it back. I realized I could be frustrated or disgusted with myself, or I could say, "hey, I've already done this once, so I know that I can do it again!" take it as proof that you know you can succeed. good luck the second time around!!

That's not what she meant. Read it in context. She's saying she was bad for not weighing it accurately. Whether that thinking is also unhealthy is another story...

this may sound weird, but i take really ripe avocados, mash them, and mix it into pasta. it's like this creamy sauce and it's so good!

ok, i am orthodox jewish, and i'm just wondering... why is everybody giving passover recipes?? i seriously cannot fathom why. do people think jews eat matzah all year round? (that's like saying americans only eat turkey and stuffing all year round...) ETA- there's a cookbook called "spice and spirit" which is basically…

you salute your vegetables? cool.

me too, for the past few days only! so strange.

Hey! Sorry I'm not looking for friends but I wanted to wish you luck. Just wanted to share something that may or may not relate to you- I also tried to diet when my baby was only 6 weeks... which turned out to be too much for me. I lost a bit but my body was not ready for such a step! I kept eating way more than I allowed…

START TODAY!!! seriously... start now. it's the only way! tomorrow is forever a day away... (now i got annie stuck in my head)

haha i definitely use it to replace food! (but only to replace food i would have eaten out of boredom, not hunger.) i love a good hot cup of coffee!
-
i was in the same boat. lost weight easily, then had a baby, and suddenly had to lose the same weight (and then some) over again. it's disheartening! i tried to start a few times, unsuccessfully. then i decided to pick out some "prizes" that i would get myself, and give them to myself after every two weeks of successful…

i have a cheat day once a week and i love it. i still lose during the week. if you really want to have a cheat day, i think the trick is to switch your thinking. these 24 hours are your break from logging, from dieting. after this day you will feel NO guilt and get right back to logging like you did before. it took me a…
