  • Thats a great suggestion, thanks! I adjusted it before and it went up about 400cals, i don't think i could even eat that much on a normal day now! will work my way up and see how that goes :)
  • At the end of the day... its 1 week, you're on holiday! Okay don't completely gorge yourself but i wouldn't be so harsh on yourself either its 1 week, it didn't take you 1 week to gain the weight :) Hope you enjoy your cruise!
  • Thats huge for 10 days! are you sure your scales were correct when you first weighed yourself?
  • I once fell off a treadmill backwards! i have stupidly long legs and it wasn't one of the big ones, very embarassing! :) so i def feel more comfortable running on solid ground! though on days where its too hot/too cold to run outside i do wish i had one!
  • hhhmmm thanks for the advice guys, might stick to my tape measure (i don't like the scales anyway, they're deceiving little things!) I was wondering for the ladies, do you notice a difference if you are retaining water, ie that time of the month, on the water % reading?
  • Thanks everyone! I've seen the weightwatchers scales, might have to go and buy them I'm just curious to see an increase/decrease over time more than anything ;)
  • Unfortunately i'm not that game to attempt a triathalon yet! But if you're looking for info on events i find the HBF fitness website helpful Looking forward to the next HBF run in May 2012 :)
  • This is what you should be measuring!! the scales are off putting, there are actually quite a lot of people on MFP that have thrown theirs out all together Get a tapemeasure and start tracking your measurements instead :)
  • Also anything by Eva Cassidy! I'm thinking of walking down the aisle to Fields of Gold and i love songbird and somewhere over the rainbow, she has a beautiful voice :)
  • I agree with the above, i would only use for motivation as well i'm not sure how accurate it is.. as i've never been able to achieve the same as what it says you will weigh in 5 wks And everyone loses/gains at a different rate I find it helpful when i think i've had a really bad day, and then it tells me if everyday were…
  • Have just started today myself! 30 days in November so perfect to complete it this month :) I've done 30DS before but wasn't commited, i know i've only done one day so far but i REALLY like this DVD! The music seems better than 30DS, and i've noticed the camera angles etc have improved so its almost like jillian does…
  • Have just started Ripped in 30 today :) i've done 30DS before but didn't stick to it religiously Today i'm determined to make a change! 30 Days in Sept, 30 days to set a healthy habit in place!
  • I am soooo hearing you! I need a big giant boot to kick me up the *kitten* and get moving!!!!! I was so motivated before i went on holiday in sept (thought of wearing a bikini made me do it!) and now i just can't get back into it So tomorrow is my fresh start... apparently it takes 30 days to make a habit, tomorrow is the…
  • Ministry of sound do some pretty good albums called "Running Trax" has x3 discs, first one Jogging, then running and sprint :) i don't know what kind of music you're into but those albums are perfect for when i go running
  • Maybe try eBay, or amazon? (or, if your cheeky like me, download it online)
  • i wouldn't say active... get yourself a pedometer and see if you are doing over 10,000 steps per day i recently did the global corporate challenge and walked to the train and back, walked my hour lunch break and went for an afternoon run or walk, most days i was only just classed as "active" as i have a desk job On…
  • Thanks for sharing, that was a nice easy read :) makes me laugh how some people just want to nit pick it apart, when we know you didn't write it so whats the point in whinging!
  • I have a Staffy x Bull mastiff, he LOVES coming running with me and is my lil running buddy :) he pulls ALOT which can sometimes really irritate me on my run when i keep having to tell him off, but on the plus side he drags me up hills and keeps up my speed when i would otherwise be lagging i went from never having run in…
  • I feel your pain! Playing basketball a few years ago i suffered really bad shin splints! a combination of the sport (sudden stopping and starting) and not wearing proper shoes was to blame i started running earlier this year, did my first 5km charity run etc and never had a problem once solution... good shoes! worth every…
  • My staple work food is cottage cheese on crackers, with canned tuna and baby spinach leaves :) simple, easy to make and great for you!
  • Sounds like you might be weighing yourself too often? we all go up and down in weight on different days, and different times of days Try sticking to just once per week, OR even better... forget the scales all together and use measurements! i know from my clothes, people comments etc that i have lost weight but sometimes…
  • I definitely feel your pain! I just started running earlier this year, completed my first 5km race and then not long afterwards put my back out and was literally on the living room floor for two days! whilst it was extremely bad the chiro advised walking would be my new friend, it does help and can still help you reach…
  • I stick to all the same, as above it definitely helps with cramps as it gets the blood circulating though i never ever use pads, i can imagine if you did it would be a different story (yay for tampons!) :)
  • Yes it is a Joey :)
  • There must be a reason why you are here.... and think of that reason to keep you motivated keep your targets short and acheivable - eg do you have a holiday coming up soon and need to get into your bathers!? (thats my current motivation - Bali in 3 wks and wearing a bikini eekkk!) think of going shopping for clothes,…
  • I've done it before, and still use it now though i mix it up with Banish fat boost metabolism and No more trouble zones (to be honest i tend to use 30DS when i don't have as much time or energy as i know its only 20mins and it works!) :)
  • you have just hit the nail on the head for me! i get the same thing at work all the time, i'm not a show pony so don't appreciate the extra attention! its actually started as an inside joke between the few people who work close by to me who hear it as many times a day as i do! though that does make me look at the funny…
  • i was once told by a personal trainer: warm up with 5 mins cardio - then weight training - then cardio - then stretches :)
  • My diet is COMPLETELY MESSED UP on the weekend!! And i'm so good during the week! But drinking with friends, going to out to restaurants, watching movies etc etc... i just cannot resist the temptation I used to beat myself up over it on a monday, but have sort of come to the conclusion that my diet is 5 days on, one or two…
  • no dramas! :) There are 92 calories per 100g serving (though i doubt you would have this much in one serving as its a 500g tub) and its pretty much the same wether you go "creamed" or not, though i prefer the texture of the creamed one as its not runny/sloppy and stays on my ryvitas! haha just checked weightwatchers and…
