  • Hi all! Please add me! I've been away from MFP for quite awhile. I so desperately need to get back on track! I am really trying. I can use all the help and motivation I can get because I am weak!
  • Not sure what your age is since I can't see your profile....but I'm assuming I'm older that you. But I'll send you a friend request anyway. when your losing weight you need all the buddies you can get!!
  • I'm right there with you guys. I will get ready at home and think " i don't look to bad.....then I go shopping and see myself in the florecent lighting and i think I just look sick!! It's the same with photos. I think I look ok, then see the pic and think to myself " you are one ugly ,fat person. Other people say I look…
  • You may be replacing fat with muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat--this could be one possibility why it seems you are not losing any weight. Sometimes you need to shake things up and do something different your body isnt expecting. (If you get in a rut, your body does too.) Try eating some (healthy) foods that you havent…
  • Sounds like you are doing great and are well on your way to a thinner, leaner you!! (Of course I would think that with 3 little ones running around that would keep you lean and mean! LOL!) I'll send a friend request and you can add me if you want. I'll try to encourage all I can. Good Luck!!

  • Just stick to it!! Even when you don't feel like it, log in your food. I leave MFP website open on my computer all day, so if I need to log something in I can just do it without having to open the browser, pull up the website, log-in, and yada yada......(I have dial-up so this can be a test of my patience.....) I know…
  • I agree with most of your post, but I don't think these foods need to be completely avoided. I eat cereal every morning with 2% milk. I have a frozen meal almost everyday for lunch. I don't drink soda or fruit juices (except cranberry juice occassionally), and I have lost 10 lbs. I think the "everything in moderation"…
  • I drive a '99 Jeep Cherokee. It's the first Jeep I've ever owned and I love it!! Would buy another in a minute! I have always wanted a Jeep, but I had to talk my hubby into it, because he is a Ford guy. I wanted the older "box" body style Jeep Cherokee....don't like the Grand Cherokee body style. So we searched and found…
  • If you build the chocolate into your calories for the day, then have one. I eat cookies a couple times a week, but I put them in as part of my calorie allotment for the day. Then I don't completely blow my "diet" becaus of my sweet tooth! So enjoy, and don't deprive yourself. Just stay smart about it. HAPPY EASTER!!
  • have you tried incorporating more fiber into your diet? I have diverticulosis ( affects the intestines) and i have to eat alot of fiber. But what I found out is the fiber keeps me fuller longer. So i try to eat as much as i can in my meals. I've tried slimfast in the past, but it never satisfied me. So, now I just eat what…
  • I had mine removed in 2003, and it took me about 6-8 months to get back to normal. I just had to learn what foods to avoid. (other than the foods that gave me the attacks in the first place!) But other than that, no problems.
  • Good Girl!! You made the right choice! We all have those days, but we can't let them bring us down.
  • I eat 3 times a day....Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner. I try to incorporate alot of fiber into my diet to keep me fuller longer. If I do get hungry in between meals, I just eat a piece of fruit and drink some water. But I normally just eat the 3 meals.
  • Feel free to add me as friend. I will help you anyway I can!! I need accountability myself! I have been using MFP for about 2 1/2 weeks. I really like it. It has been a great tool for me!! Good Luck!! You can do it!!
  • Welcome!! I too have a huge sweet tooth! Passing up chocolate, whether it be cake, ice cream, candy bar...ect , is very hard for me. I just have to make myself do it. But the feeling I get when I step on the scale and the number is a bit lower helps me to keep things in perspective. I still eat chocolate, but maybe only a…
  • That is AWESOME!! You go girl!!
  • My suggestion would be to increase your fiber intake as much as you can.
  • I'm 5 ft 4 and 3/4 inches... I just went with 5'5". I rounded up. It didn't seem to make that big of a difference.
  • Scroll back up to the top of all these posts and where it says >home >recent posts >my topics >signature >search click on signature, and you can type in what you like. To add your ticker, go to top of page and click on the "tools" tab, then click on "tickers". You can customize your own ticker however you want it. Hope…
  • I think you will love MFP!! I have only been using it for a little less than 2 weeks, but have gained alot of knowledge in that time. Logging food is the key for me. It was a real eye-opener at the calorie intake!! Also, I like you, have the portion control problem. But I am trying really hard to nip it in the bud!! I've…
  • I'm new too...been using MFP for almost 2 weeks. I've lost 3 pounds in 10 days. Logging all my food has really made me see what the calorie content of alot of foods I was eating really was. Quite the eye opener. I already am making new and better choices. This site also has alot of supportive people that are very helpful.…
  • A cup = 8 oz. Plain old measuring cups will do. ( you can get them at walmart or a dollar store pretty cheap if you don't already have any.) Just remember to use appropriate measuring cups for dry and liquid measuring. Those glass Pyrex or Anchor-Hocking measuriing cups are what I use for liquids. I just have some cheap…
  • I have the Sketchers Shape-ups. I don't wear them for the toning, I wear them for the comfort. The soles are so thick you get a big cushion. I love that. I have worn them while walking outside, and on my treadmill. I don't really feel any difference in my muscles. But again, they are very comfy.
  • I agree! I have only been using MFP for a little over a week and have lost 2 lbs. I think it is a terrific tool to help achieve your weight loss goals. Congrats on your weight-loss!! Keep up the good work!
  • Hi! Welcome! If you use this site and log your food and exercise, I believe it will help you. All the ppl on here are very supportive and will help you with the motivation. I know MFP sure has helped me. I've only been using it a little over a week and have already lost 2 pounds. Good Luck! (Will send a friend request...I…
  • I bought a digital one at Walmart that can store weight numbers for 2 people. It wasn't very expensive, around $25 or so. I weighed on it and stopped in at the docs office and weighed on their scale. Both were very close in readings, so it seems to be pretty accurate.
  • Awww.....it is awesome that you and your husband are on MFP together! I have only been using this site for 7 days, and I feel it has made a big difference with the food I eat. I actually enjoy logging in my food!! I also really like all the support and encouragement everyone offers. I've lost 2.2 lbs already!! I hope you…
  • Don't get discouraged!! You did it once, so you know what to do. Just keep at it!! I've lost and gained back and forth over the years, and this time, I'm going to make it work. I' don't "diet"....I eat what i want, but if it is a fatty food, I just eat a small portion. Then I know I'm going to have to exercise....so that…
  • Hi Wanda!! I, like you was skeptical about using a website to help me with my weight-loss, but my doctor recommended it and I decided to try it out. I must say I have been pleaseantly surprised!! There is so much support and encouragement!! Also, I find that I actually look forward to logging in my food. I like to see the…
  • I weigh myself on Mondays , Wednesdays and Fridays. Every other day. But I usually record the Friday weigh-in because it's the last one before a new week. Once i get farther into my weight-loss journey, I may go to a daily weigh-in, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. You are doing an awesome job!! 87…
