  • Congratulations Tammietifanie!!! You should be super proud! The southbeach is a good guide for sure. I wasn't able to stick to it completely but I still lost 3lbs so I am really happy. Will continue to use SB diet as a guide!!!!
  • Good morning! Hey Tammietifanie I thought I would put my two cents worth in. I agree with you about Southbeach Diet and making better choices. I did a modified version of Phase 1 where I wasnt quite as strict as the book but definitely cut back on carbs and simple sugars. I lost 3-4 lbs which is about what I was hoping…
  • I too worked extra hard today on my workout!! YAY! this is a good way to challenge ourselves. If i am off on Saturday from work it is always hard for me to exercise - not sure why cuz I exercise the other days that I am off.. but I am happy with the amt of time i worked out and pretty happy with my food intake =D congrats…
  • count me in.... planning on a workout tomorrow am...wanted an extra long workout tomorrow anyway so this will challenge me to do it..also planning on going out to eat for dinner - hopefully I won't blow it haha!!!
  • Thank you Tamietifannie - I'm only on my first day and just not sure if i will be strict with myself with it or I might just kind of do a modified version. I tried the almond ricotta cream tonite and didn't really enjoy it too much...would much rather have plain soft serve from dairy queen haha!! I do like the recipes…
  • ah good point Coronalime.... i will definitely check the sodium. Thats a good idea about making a batch of chicken breasts for the week...I could grill up a bunch. Thanks for the suggestions!! I need all the help I can get with this SB diet hah!!
  • Hi there South Beach gang! I am late so maybe I can't join but today 2/8/10 I am starting the SB diet. I am not sure how this will go for me because I do get shaky if I don't have my carbs but hopefully I can hang in there. How is it going for all of you? Have you all gotten through the dreaded first two weeks? I have…
  • Hi Saraketner, Can I add to the research? I am looking for a Treadmill....and I have been researching quite a bit but boy there are so many brands and types. Like you, I don't want to spend a fortune but don't want a piece of junk either... I would appreciate any recommendations! Hope you don't mind my tagging along on…
  • I'm so very sorry.... thats horrible!!! You have the right idea in mind though - take care of yourself and get healthier... The gym is the best place to start. Find a class that you really like and stick to it. This site is amazing for helping to keep track of what you are eating and how much exercise you should get each…
  • I am in the same predicament... I will be starting night shift on Wednesday after being on day shift for 4 years. I am nervous about eating during that shift because I remember that last time I did nights I had stomach issues when I ate lunch at midnight.... It's such a strange way of life, isn't it? So I think what I'm…
  • Thank you all for your encouragement!!! It sounds like the general consensus is that it works and to not get discouraged.... now those of you that use the treadmill to run on - is 5.4 a decent speed or no? I'm just hoping I don't get discouraged by my hyperinflated lungs LOL !!
  • Welcome! Happy Birthday to you... tomorrow is my birthday too !!!
  • Yep, I've noticed it too. I sometimes am unsure of portion size so I usually put in a little on the bigger side since I probably forget to add things too!
