  • From someone who actually has used one, I can tell you that, yes it will cinche your waist, but I didn't find it permenant. When you take it off you will go back to normal size. I only wear mine if I've got a little dress to wear for the night and want to 'tuck in' my excess skin. It's probably best used just for tight…
  • How long did you eat at the extra 100 kcals for? Sometimes your body will retain water, giving you a few extra lbs and a bloated look. It takes a while to subside. I've just upped cals by 300 a day and initially I jumped 4lbs up and looked blobby. Fastfoward 3 weeks and its calming down and the weight is slowly decreasing.…
  • So glad I read this. I can totally relate to what you're saying. Sometimes I wish I'd never found MFP, its like a curse and a blessing in disguise. I never obsessed about food before I started MFP, I wasn't even overweight to start with. After reading what you wrote, I'm going to take a break from logging food and just see…
  • Sounds like your wanting to recomp. I've spent a year doing that, with pleasing results (20%BF down to 15%). Your calorific needs depend on height etc. I found the calorie calculator on scoobysworkshop to be very accurate for me. I've seen people carb cycle, eat different calories on different days etc. I've not really…
  • Hey you sound like me 8 years ago; aged 25, busy constantly and weighing 83lbs and not feeling good. Do you actually make time to eat meals? What's your current cal intake?
  • I started a dry year on Xmas day 2014, due to hangovers affecting my ability to weight train.....5 months in and still going strong. Good luck people who are doing dry May. I've still got another 7 months to go
  • Sijomial is right, protein doesn't need to be that high. I've been doing a recomp for a year, no weight loss, but seen a decrease of 5% body fat. Yes 2200 kcal is waaaay to low for your stats. I'm a 4'11, 100lb woman and I am maintaining on 2000 kcals. I'm aiming for 100g protein a day. I've read in plenty of places that…
  • A year into my recomp, I have seen pleasing results. I haven't been particularly 'exact' with my calories and it still worked for me. I felt the biggest struggle was having patience to wait for the results to show...but they did.
  • 4'11 102lbs and 15% bodyfat, maintain on 1850-1900 a day with 3.5 hours a week weightlifting and 1 hour of boxing sparing a week.
  • @lisag0109 I started properly (actually eating enough to encourage muscle growth!) in May last year, but I would say it was around January this year that I took my first comparison photo and saw a huge difference. I have a before and after pic on my profile that is 8 months apart.
  • @Emilia777. I used the calorie calculator in scoobysworkshop.com to find my appropriate intake (it says build muscle, lose fat). Which worked out at around 1850 per day. I did the Allpro beginners workout 3 days a week plus 20 mins cardio and was patient. The scales would sometimes go up but I resisted temptation to drop…
  • 250g of low fat fromage frais with 25g of chopped up grapes - 20g protein and tastes good too.
  • I would say do your re-comp now. You're at a good weight currently, I would eat at maintenance and lift. A year ago I started a recomp at 102lbs (I'm 4'11) and I ate just above maintenance. A year on, I still weigh 102lbs, but have shed 5% body fat, 3 inches off waist and have a lot more visible muscle. Like you, I tried…
  • I like All pro body workout. Being doing it a year and its transformed my body. Good luck
  • Yes its called recomping. I've just spent a year doing it, with good results. No weight gained or lost, just reduced body fat and increased muscle mass.
  • I'm 102lbs and 4'11 so the most I would expect to see is 1-2lb tops.
  • It can be done. A year ago I weighed 101lbs with a 26.5 inch waist and around 20% BF. 1 year later still 101lbs, a 24 inch waist and 15% BF. Its taken a whole year and a lot of weight lifting and eating a little over maintenance.
  • I am the only woman that uses the weight section. In 3 years of my gym memebership I've never seen another woman venture in there. At first, I was nervous and paranoid that the blokes would be sniggering at me behind my back. None of them really spoke to me and I felt a bit isolated. Then one of the male instructors said…
  • I drink alot of water throughout the day, generally i'm a thirsty person. Haven't had an eye test for about 3 years, Defo worth booking one. I actually have a gift voucher for a chiropractor so will get that booked too. All great suggestions thank you guys.
  • No tension at all, I wake up the next day and feel like I've worked out (slight ache in chest) but once I'm up and about it disappears. I've been really lucky so far with muscle aches/tears etc.
  • @mhseaver670‌ - my routine includes deadlifts and squats, although I haven't gone up in weight on either for a while.
  • I've been doing an all over routine (All Pro) for 8 months. I have a massive bowl of porridge with fruit and protein shake before workouts and a bagel and protein shake immediately after workouts. When I leave the gym at 10.45am I feel amazing, By 3pm I'm feeling terrible and it lasts all afternoon in to the evening, even…
  • I don't have these on my food diary, but I'll have a look into what it should be and see if I'm getting enough. I'll try anything to make these headaches and fatigue do one! Thanks
  • Generally I reach my sodium allowance most days and occasionally go over, but not by a lot.
  • Only whey protein shakes.
  • I have a small pouch of skin at the bottom of my stomach, its not massive but its enough to prevent my bottom abs from showing no matter what I do. There are people who have it much much worse than me, I know. I can honestly say that doing weighted exercises on my stomach and weightlifting has lifted the skin slightly.…
  • Just ride that stinky wave my friend. Its nature and not a lot you can do, but embrace it. I'm sure divorce papers have nearly been served by my husband over my awesome protein air biscuits, since I've started weightlifting. But that's the price he pays for me having abs!
  • @Wills820‌ - Thank you. I did 20 mins of cardio at the end of my session. 10 mins running and 10 mins on cross trainer.....I hate cardio. With regards to your goals; do you know your current body fat%?
  • I'm 4'11 (so an inch too short for this thread!). The Pic of me and my husband was taken 1 month after having my son and weighing around 120. I'm now 100lbs. Which I achieved through an all over weight lifting programme, 3 times a week. Going as heavy as possible with free weights. Goal now is to get totally shredded.
