  • bump...would like to know too
  • there is growing research that shows if you conusme even a few grams of whey protein following a hard workout (becasue there is lutein in it) helps speed the process of muscle rebuilding faster than if you had none. since muscle does indeed burn more fat, anything you can do to optimize your workout is best. (why workout…
  • I am in the exact same boat.... been at this for over 5 weeks now, at 141lbs and havent lost a pound despite all the same things and I run 3-4 x a weeks for over an hour. I too want to be 125... and I cant understand why I havent lost even 1 pound. its very frustrating.
  • damn girl!! you are already crazy ripped!!! tell me you go tthat way from doing Insanity the 60 day program!!???
  • what I do is time myself for intervals....so say i will do 5 mins at a slow pace, then 5 mins at a super fast pace, then 5 slow again for a pre-set amount of sets, it makes the time go by fast b/c you are only concentrating on that 5 minute segment AND its a better work out than a steady pace.
  • I tried the Dannon vanilla today, it wasnt that bad...much thicker than the Light & fit I love... I could get used to it. I tried another kind weeks ago and like everyone else had a hard time even taking one bite it was that gross....so Im sure the brand and kind matters. I will have to try the Chobani everyone says is good
  • there is an A.M. and P.M. yoga video with Rodney Lee....its a pretty awesome beginners video. Typically any of the GIAIM series are good enough to feel the stretch but not so hard you want to die and throw the DVD away! :ohwell:
  • I would like to know as well. as I run about 3-4 times a week but really want to do the insanity as well...
  • I am not sure but my treadmill has it too, let me know what you find out.
  • for me, when I am sick, I skip the workout, your body is already in a weakened state when you are sick, if you stress it more with a workout, getting better takes longer...
  • simple light carbs before...like toast, a bagel, oj, cereal with skim milk....anything easy to burn durning your workout...then within 30 mins of your workout eat some protein for muscle repair...peanut butter, nuts, an egg...whey protein in milk...some people swear by chololate milk! the important thing is to make sure…
  • ok thanks all. we were just considering the pudding/shakes to suppliment one meal to help with weight loss, like breakfast or lunch...I wasnt thinking of going full boar with it. just wondered if the shakes and pudding tasted good. I have done slim fast in the past and I like those for quick/low cal snack or one meal…
  • Thank you - I am checking out this site right now.
  • I have been training for a half marathon, running about 70-80 mins 3-4 x a week, I have done circuit training 2-3x week of push ups, squats etc..and I typically do a brisk walk during my breaks at work for about 30-40 mins a day too...I dont know why I am so focused on the weight, I know alot of factors go into it... but…
  • I drink two cups of coffee each morning and tea at night, I drink zero water all day cause I hate the (non) taste of water and the zero is 0 cals and tastes awesome...you should be fine with hydration and I dont beleive in sacrificing everything (like your coffee) is necessary...just make sure you drink enough fluids…
  • have you also tried Nutella? almost the same nutritional content as PB but its cocoa/hazelnut!!! super delish especially if you add a bit to PB, then its like reeces toast!! decent protein fix and filling.
  • I usually have yogurt and friut with whey protein powder added, milk, or toast with some peanut butter on it,... those are good to replenish after that kind of workout
  • I still hit the Mcdonalds drive through and choose lower calorie healthier options on the go, sometimes making food at home just isnt an option no matter how cheaply it can be done....I usually get a grilled chicken chipoltle wrap and the fruit and yogurt, both come in at around 440 calories and fill me up.... dont beat…

  • awesome! Running my first full in Oct, currently training for a half in May and another Aug..live in Chillicothe about an hour away, always looking for new running contacts. friend me if you like
  • its the same as interval training where you raise and lower your HR, so I wouldnt think its an issue, if anything you are going to see better results. Good Job!!
  • I am on here to initially lose some weight, but overall I have always enjoyed being active and fitness, so I love the community of meeting others with the same goals and hobbies...I love to run and bike, and its awesome to bounce ideas off of others who think about the same things...like types of shoes or cool races. I…
  • I had to manually change mine to 60g a day which is the recomended 20% for someone who is working out and doing any kind of weights or circuits. I agree MFP is set too low
  • if you gradually build up speed, you will improve and your overall endurance will also pick up. try doing one speed workout a week (then 2 slow, easy runs and one longer run for endurance) I do speed pyramids for example: start out with a nice 10 min warm up, then do 1 min at an easy pace (say a 4.0) then do one min of a…
  • so I could potentially just track the amount of good fat versus the bad and have a more accurate reflection? I hate that the total fat makes it look like I was a hog if I had one serving of good nuts or avacado etc...
  • Ill try harder tomorrow...

  • thanks everyone for the input!! I think the consistent mesage is to take it slow and break them into slowly so your feet can adjust, and apparently to wash them!!
  • as I was sitting here this morning trying to make my 80 cal yogurt for breakfast seem filling my coworker walks in with mini cheescakes from sams club....ugh, seriously!? and they are offended when you decline! I feel your pain too.
