Hardboiled egg and some cheese? Nuts? Greek yogurt? Banana or apple and peanut butter? -those are my main go-to snacks.

Yep. You don't get to decide which calories count and which don't. If you eat it, it counts.
-
Have you tried just drinking a glass of water? Could you be thirsty and not actually hungry?

I had a plateau after the first 10-12 lbs I lost. I was only trying to lose about 15 lbs but I couldn't seem to get the other ones off. I tried lowering calories, up-ing calories, taking a few days off to just whatever, changing my exercise. They ultimately came off after calorie cycling for a week or two.

Honestly, I wouldn't. But if you are eating back workout calories.. feel free to add them in.

I started out losing weight for myself and got a BF somewhere in my weight loss journey. I fell a little into that trap. We went out to eat all the time and he liked me the way I was.. so who cared. But, I had to learn to shift my mind set arond and realize that I wasn't doing it for him, I was doing it for ME. I like…

Hi all, Age: 25 Before weight: 140 After weight: 124-126 ish. I like to sit anywhere in there. Start date: January 2011 Goal reached date: May 2012 Best strategy for removing weight: crossfit. I counted calories, did a lot of HIIT and heavy lifting. I saw a bigger improvement in my body in the 6 months I did crossfit than…

Yes, you will lose weight from diet alone. But, bear in mind that's where a lot of us end up looking "skinny fat."

You cannot burn fat AND gain muscle at the same time. You have to decide which is more important. I would recommend eating at a surplus, gaining muscle and then cutting fat after while trying desperately to keep all the muscle you put on.
-
Yep. We don't get to pick the body type we have. So learn to accept your body and work with what you can.
-
Do you ever post your workouts? I would love new ones to try. I heavy lift and do some insanity, spinning and running. Not super exciting but if you're looking for friends :)

I usually buy something out. I live right next to a whole foods, so I go there and get something pre-made. I also go to chipotle, noodles and company and panera a lot. I don't tend to make the best food decisions if I don't have a planned dinner.. so whole foods works for me.

I use a salux cloth for exfoliation.. works well enough for me.

*looks lovingly at my chipotle burrito*

For "fast" food I really like: Panera, Noodles and company, chipotle, qdoba, jimmy johns and 5 guys.

So much this. You don't get to choose when/if he decides to exercise/become healthier. He obviously doesn't want to. It's either ok with you or it's not.. but pushing him isn't helpful.

First, that two lb gain is probably water weight from working out. Additionally, it is totally NORMAL for weight to fluctuate. Being up a lb or two is really not a sign of failure or that you've gained any real weight. This is why it's generally a good idea to weigh in once a week and look at the trend. I.E. am I losing…

I lift much lighter with front squats than back squats. I think like 75% of the weight I do on my back. It just always feels awkward to me even when I have the proper form..

Try youtube. Zuzkalight is amazing, super short and only does body weight exercises.

The most helpful thing I learned along the way is that the only person who can be held accountable to motivate you.. is you. Don't rely on everyone else to help you lose weight. You have to want it and you have to motivate yourself. If you really want to do it.. you will. You said yourself, you're finding excuses. When you…

Really? It's incomprehensible to you that other people crave/like fast food? Have you never been to 5 guys?

^this. You have to make time to work out. Many people on here work full, go to school and/or are parents. You have 30 minutes somewhere in your day that you could fit in a workout. Watch one less tv show, wake up 30 minutes earlier, go to the gym on your lunch break, etc.
-
Same. I pack my lunch for work the night before.. so it's easy for me to pre-log at least up until dinner. Weekends are a bit unplanned for the most part.. so I have to wait to see what my plans are.

You are not eating enough.. I think you know that. I really can't imagine you aren't hungry eating only 800 calories a day. Most of the people on this website, including myself, did not join because we don't like food/aren't eating enough. My suggestion would be to look into more calorie dense food if you really can't hit…

Yes and no. He goes through periods of being super good- crossfit, eating healthy, you name it. Ends up over-doing it b/c he wants to lose weight or get more muscles ASAP. Then he quits for awhile, puts back on the same 15 lbs he lost and starts all over again. I've tried to teach him about moderation and losing more…

These are all great suggestions. I also use a protein powder some days to give me a little bit more protein. I use milk, protein powder and greek yogurt in a shake.
-
Same. A late dinner really helps.

You should eat back your calories from working out. However, if you are just using MFP estimations and not a heart rate monitor I would only eat about 50% back since you don't really know what you're burning. You can definitely eat more than 1200 calories and still lose weight, so I would recommend calculating your TDEE…

Same. They're really yummy too and don't need too much flavoring (creamer, sugar)
