They've evidently been "updating" that article but none of the wording has changed.

This is still not working for me. I did change time zones recently thinking it might change the hour at which everything resets, but that did not work, and so I changed it back. ARG.

Ugh! So annoying!

that's why I posted it! I needed a boost!

My boyfriend's mother swears by those tapes! I might have to check them out...

haha, aren't these the same thing?

I agree with what everyone is saying about moderation. There are some things I enjoy that I have really cut out (if not totally, then at least very drastically), like greasy Chinese food, any fast food really, and anything with MSG. Knowing (or not knowing) all the crud that goes into that food isn't really worth the…

I can't believe no one watched the bacon video. I also forgot to mention that my boyfriend made me bacon-flavored vodka for Christmas. It sounds crazy, but it's @#%@$# DELICIOUS!

For all you bacon lovers, one of my favorite comedians on the subject: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaK9bjLy3v4

Vodka soda. Or vodka Diet Coke/Sprite. An ounce of vodka has like 70-90 calories. Plus, you'll be walking around Manhattan a bunch! Don't forget to log that. Also, text me.

These are some great ideas. Thanks Mom2M, I love those ideas (and gummy bears :) )

I just asked out a guy I work with. Told him we should hang around and watch a show we both like. He said yes, but I asked when, and he didn't respond....I wonder if he was placating.

What an inspiration! Congrats! You look fab!

Gawd, I used to eat some 1100 calorie burritos from that place...with steak. Good thing NYC has the rule where chain restaurants have to put calorie counts on the menus. Boy did that change my mind fast!
-
THanks so much for these great tips everyone! I will definitely be using them!
-
I will definitely check all of this stuff out. I also have a weighted hula hoop, I hear that does wonders. I should also use my free month of yoga I just got :)

Rice milk is a good alternative as well, especially if you're mixing with protein powder. It's also got far less calories and you can buy it in flavors.
-
Yeah, I've been using lots of 0 calorie olive oil spray. I guess I'll have to give up some of the full flavor for a while :)

I'm so sorry for your loss. A friend of mine recently was found dead after a couple of weeks too. Apparent suicide. I just wish I had been there more..
-
Yeah, I suppose you're right, but sometimes there are days where these are the only things I get to use as workout, and I do things for more than an hour or 2.
-
I'm more concerned with if something like folding laundry or cleaning dishes...light chores, would even burn enough calories to qualify.

Ahhh, no, I did rince and dry thoroughly, but did not boi (the microwave has you just 'nuke 'em. Yes, they are incredibly low-cal, but also seem like a lot of maintenance seeing as I end up hungry again not soon after eating them. I'm willing to give them another go, though.

Totally fab!

Green tea is preferred, as it also boosts metabolism and has antioxidents, but I just recall the book saying that the acidic factor of coffee hindered fat burning. I don't have the book anymore otherwise I would quote directly, but I do believe that book was more trying to get people to go vegan than lose weight...

Thanks everyone for the supportive words. I'm definitely going to try and quit binging. It can be so hard sometimes. The last two weekends have had birthdays EVERY DAY. I count my alcohol calories too, but I think I might need a break from booze altogether. I need to do this!
-
Yeah, I used to weigh myself only once a week, but then I kind of wanted to check more frequently so I could see how my body fluctuated based on my exercise and eating habits. I still only record once a week. I guess we'll see what tomorrow says :)
-
Thanks everyone for the wonderful responses! I had a wonderful lunch and there are enough ideas in here to do something different the next few times!

Yes! I am 6 feet tall so my walk is normally about 3mph, and my "rushing to work, I'm late" walk is about 4.0 mph.

Lorina, I just have a feeling that the sedentariness of my work still isn't enough with the 'lightly active' category.
-
Thanks so much, I've been looking online for an inexpensive one that works well. I don't like the one I currently have because it makes me choose the activity level and I'm not sure I'm doing it right. Can you recommend a good brand?
