  • Not that this could be a viable option but the protein powder they use at Starbucks contains no artificial sweetners. I can double check but I'm almost certain it doesn't.
  • Sorry, I should've made it clear that the sit ups were just an example. I'm mainly referring to the schedule itself. Same example but pretend I said doing bicep curls with a dumbbell weight which you can hardly do 10 reps with.

  • Aww man. But I hate squats :( Sounds like I just need to push harder instead of go to the gym more frequently. I'm not any any type of program really.
  • I love it when I'm really low on energy but I tell myself that I need to at least get in a 15 minute run . Then I end up zoning out and look down to see I've been running for 25 minutes.
  • You know you've got an inner fat girl when the first thing you picture is a cake with icing abs. Which isn't even a real thing. And now I just want to eat some icing. EDIT: Oh wait, I forgot this was the internet.
  • Whichever gym you go to, I would see about getting a free training session. It's one thing to see and read about lifting weights and a whole other to have someone correct you as you are actually doing it. I took an introductory course crossfit and, while not free, our coach caught me making some mistakes which I don't…
  • I haven't laughed this hard in a while. OP is obviously a troll but man, what a ride.
  • I'm going to do that annoying thing and tell you that under 20g of carbs is a little extreme. Not in the sense of dieting but mental state. I was keeping to around 50g. Within a week, I was ready to murder everyone. In terms of meals, I stick to a few basic foods and simply mix it up as far as preparation. Meat : Chicken,…
  • I think that this is something which occurs when uninformed people manage to lose weight. They don't anticipate the motivational lows for one. Just because I'm fairly in shape doesn't mean there aren't days I can't bring myself to go to the gym or I'm unhappy with what I'm seeing in the mirror.
  • I really began to focus on fitness since February of this year. Think I've missed 10 days since then. There are days when my body needs a rest but then I just end up stressing that I've broken the habit.
  • Oreos are the devil.

  • I just saw this movie last night. I have yet to see Spiderman and Captain America, but I really liked this film. It was a lot more plot driven than any of the other X-Men films, I found. The ensemble cast gelled well together in this one as well.
  • Okay well my original post was a bit tongue in cheek. Although I do feel that at times my diary reads a little like a 12 year old who's parents have gone on vacation. I don't always feel guilty or worry too much. By the same token, I do agree that for some people this is a beneficial pressure. Some people have really great…

  • Wow, I totally forgot about that. I lost my initial big weight when I was heading to university and it was a time when I took a lot of busses. I remember coming onto a bus, sitting down and just being absolutely uncomfortable from my tailbone and spine pressing into the seat. I miss baking. I miss getting good deals on…
  • That's a good question. I find that I usually consume most of my carbs between lunch and dinner. I find that I can't eat too much before my workout and I tend to workout either very early in the morning or just before dinner. I average about 40 - 60 grams of carbs a day.
  • For me the main difference is I have more energy for the workout and I get it out of the way which is good since then I don't spend the day stressing about squeezing it in later. For most people I would imagine it boosts energy levels and suppress appetite though.
  • So I've learned two things from this challenge. 1. Official burpees include a push-up portion. 2. I can't do burpees.
  • I'm glad you're taking a more proactive approach than just machines. I have known a few women who I couldn't even convince to step into a gym, let alone do free weights. Planning a session with a trainer is a great start. Have fun!
  • This. There are times when I just end up lying and saying that I have an upset stomach already so I'm not sure I should have junk food. And it's not just at the work place. 'What? I am making dinner for you as your friend but you don't want to eat the fries? What about just potatoes? What about rice? Garlic bread? Okay,…
  • Putting it off will build up anxiety, yes. But so can being forced or pushing yourself into doing something you're not ready for. Everyone is different. If I had to go from never being in a gym to crossfit lifting, I'd probably decide that the gym is just not for me. I took crossfit classes, a police prep test and want to…
  • To be fair, I may have used the wrong word. I didn't mean advanced as in hard or difficult. I meant intimidating. A lot of people who don't go to the gym a lot tend to get put off by even the free physical assessment which most memberships will offer when you first join up. My advice was geared towards getting a certain…
  • Depending on your metabolism and existing muscle mass, you should include between 20 and 45 minutes of cardio. Doesn't really matter what you do as long as you are sweating. Lifting like what DevPul is suggesting is absolutely beneficial but it is advanced. Start out on the standard machines just to get used to working…
  • Yes. That's the point. Girls can be dirty! Don't judge us! On a serious note though - so the time span between the two pictures is about 1.5 years?
  • 6 minutes and 20 seconds. Although I didn't do a push up on the way down (didn't actually know you were supposed to do that until I looked it up) and I only jumped for the first 50. Will attempt again with better form.
  • Not neglecting. I think that person was trying to say it can be easier to get into shape as a celebrity. Celebrities tend to have quite an income therefore if they want to get in shape, time is usually not an issue for them. They can hire a house cleaner, gardener, chef, pay to get renovations done as a pose to doing them…
  • I hate you for suggesting this.
  • Right, this is what I suspected so it's nice to have it confirmed. There's nothing more discouraging than working your butt off and then not being able to do a workout which doesn't appear to require that much strength. That's a really good point as well. There are some workouts which you either do or don't and there's not…
  • Son of a B! I'm glad that I just started eating these bad boys and was under for my caloric intake that day. Well that's disappointing. I'm more concerned with carbs than calories right now but it is still unfortunate. As well, it just makes me more paranoid about inaccurate labels of other products. Gees, I'll just like…
