One of my favorites is from Old Yankee Wisdom - "The only way to get on your feet is to get off your a**."

20,000 - 25,000 steps on a work day. 13,000 - 16,000 on a day off. On my feet and doing barn chores at home and at work.

<<Picked up a kettle bell of roughly what I've lost, for reference. Ya'll. I couldn't even walk around with that thing. No one tells you HOW HEAVY the extra weight is. Losing 50 pounds slowly (especially when you have more to go) seems like a matter of fact thing but realizing that you were walking around with that is…

I am finding the scales can be discouraging but the fit of my clothes and energy level are improving…

I'm grateful I am alive and able to work on becoming a healthier person. I'm grateful for the energy I feel after working out. I'm grateful for the will to keep going one day at a time.

My bike is fast becoming my best friend! :) I ride it because my feet ache when I am on them too long so the treadmill isn't such a great option for me. Years ago I had them looked at and the x-rays showed arthritis. I'm really trying to stick to logging in MFP. Working on week 3 now and feel much better physically…

On days that I work on the farm, I get 10,000 easily. :)

I'm starting out (again) and your success story is very inspiring to me. I've tried and failed and find chocolate to be evil as well. I'm back and this time I am determined to put my stubbornness to good use.

Thank you for the feedback. After reading the article I think I understand the exercise calories a little better. I've been reading through some old messages on this board and enjoying the support shown here to others. K
