Yes, I do varied cardio training already - every week includes 1 day of HIIT - 1 day of XT - 2 shorter runs - 1 long run - 1 speed run (repeats or hills) and 1 active rest day (yoga or pilates) - then I repeat!!

Thank you - I appreciate everyones advise and I think I really do just need to up the weight training - it is tough because I am training for a marathon but I will see what kind of weight programs I can fit in! Thanks!
-
My dairy is open and I try pretty hard to eat well balanced meals and plenty of protein, guess I just need to shape it up even more - thanks for the advise!
-
I am with you - no matter what distance I set out for 5k or 22 miles it takes me at least 3 miles before I hit my stride and feel ready to rock and roll
-
OMG I run soooo much cardio - I am currently training for my 3rd marathon, I think my problem is I either do too much cardio and not enough weights or my diet but I would rather have my loaf of bread than give my my beer, pizza or sweets! haaa

I find it very sad whenever anyone is a successful athlete or really excels and people are so quick to say, they are doping - when did so many people stop believing that with hard work we can achieve great things? Now, I don't know all the facts in the Armstrong case but after it has gone on for this long and they still…

OMG mine too - have a border collie and a border collie mutt, they are too smart, they recognize my running clothes, garmin watch and shoes and start warming up by running in circles in the house before we go out! P.S. love this whole thread!!

I understand feeling better some days than others when you set off for a run but I try to think that the only bad run or workout is the one that didn't happen!
-
I love this post and all the comments / suggestions - I recently started Bodyrocking - I have seen others with great success and am really excited to see my own results after putting in some hard work. I am very glad though to see it wasnt just me who was crazy confused - I follow them on facebook now and try to do the…

I do HIIT on the tread also - I hear of a lot of peeps who do it on the elliptical and am actually going to be giving that a try tonight only because I am so prone to stress fractures in my feet and I feel like HIIT on the tread is so tough on them... My actual workout is: 5 min warm up @ 5mph 60 sec @ 9mph 120 sec @ 5mph…

You need to do this for you - it sounds like this is what you really want and that if you don't just go for it you will regret it. I did a fair bit of traveling when I was in college down under in Australia / New Zealand and Fiji - if it weren't for the fact that I played lacrosse for my University I probably would never…

I am about ready to quit my scale too - only reason I don't is because it measures body water percentage and body fat percentage - but keep up the good work and I hope to be doing the same and increasing lifting to lose inches and not worry about the lbs.

I have been looking at the Brazil Butt Lift DVDs for a while - just trying to decide if they are worth the money??...

old school but: Nelly - Heart of a Champion Eminem - Till I Collapse Linkin Park - Bleed it Out Van Halen - Right Now
-
I think I need to go get this DVD and some of her others - I have heard so many positive outcomes from this 30DS and 20 minute workouts are great! - going to buy tonight and join in!
-
this made me lol - that was a very elequent way of putting it haa

You both look fantastic, great job and glad all your hard work is paying off! I am thinking of increasing my calories from 1200 to 1500 but is that what you net or is that your gross calories after eating back exercise calories? Just trying to figure out what might be the best way - I burn roughly 500 calories a day but…

I am 5'8" 132lbs and trying to get to 125, but lean - I am a runner and usually training for one race or another so cutting back my cardio isn't an option but I am hoping to increase my lifting to 2-3x a week of heavy lifting (any suggestions of programs would be great). I try to stay around 1300 calories a day in order to…

Thank you all so much for this feedback - what is everyone eating that they get their protein up over 100g every day? Until I became consious of increasing my protein my usual intake was really low, maybe 60-80g a day, now with trying I just reach about 100g...

So true - I have gotten a few good protein bar recepies from friends on here and plan to make some of my own this weekend - looking forward to seeing how they come out!

I think it depends on how much endurance running you do and how seriously you would look to compete in the tri. I am a longer distance runner so I felt comfortable I had the endurance to finish when I registered for my first tri - granted it was a sprint tri series and all females (SheROX series / .25mile swim / 12 mile…

I don't go to bed as early as I should (11ish is typical) but I still drag my butt out of bed at 4:45/5am to hit the gym by 5/5:15 - depending how cute my puppies are being trying to snuggle when I am trying to get out of bed haa - no matter what it is hard but after a few weeks you get used to it and start to look forward…

Love my morning workouts - feel off when I miss them!

I also have goals of qualify for Boston in the next 1-2 years and my first marathon was 4:55 and my second is hard to judge, the official time came in around 4:50 but it was the Goofy in Disney so I had run a 1/2 the day before plus stopped and waited in line at all the characters along the course for photos...my next…
-
you sold me - checking out group now and will try this starting Monday!
-
I was really hoping there was a way to do this as well - I am a long distance runner and am usually training for a marathon - I am currently training for a marathon where I am trying to increase my speed and also trying to include more weight lifting as well - guess I am going to have to figure out a nice balance to make…

If you are lifting 5x a week are you doing target lifting each day and working certain muscle groups with heavy weights, or light full body toning? I am a runner and probably do cardio 5-6x a week but I am what some would call skinny fat because I have hardly any muscle definition so am really trying to work on that...any…

I ran the Goofy this past January - ridiculous amounts of fun and I'm pretty sure I wore my medal for the next three days, my husband finally had to tell me, it's enough haa
-
Same here - love my bare skin (not to say I dont love certain tattoos on people either)! Its cool to see so many people reply that they dont have them, I felt like everyone I knew ran out to get one when they turned 18. Now, my husband doesnt have any either but he wants one...well see if that happens because he changes…
-
Haa ditto - I did the Goofy in January and cannot stop talking about it - it was the best time ever and I wish I could do all of them but it's so expensive especially since we made a mini vaca out of it. I think I am skipping marathon weekend this year and going to do a long weekend for the Princess half, been saving my…
