  • Hello there. I hope you all don't mind me sneaking into your group. I'm 41 and I have diabetes and Pros. I start LCHF about a couple of weeks ago and I'm really not seeing any weight loss. I'm seeing the non scale benefits like much lower blood sugars, little to no cramping during my TOM, way more stamina during workouts,…
  • I'm still wide awake. In the past i would have been in a carb coma, but today (now officially yesterday) got in over 19000 steps on my fitbit. That was from house cleaning, running errands, my zumba class and walking the dog. The other big NSV is I managed to talk two of my girlfriends into doing Zumba with me and they…

  • Low carb is best. I'm diabetic and low carb seems to be the only thing keeping my blood sugar levels in line. I do incorporate some fruit on days that I do extra long workouts. I try to stay around 100 or less carbs a day.
  • My highs for this week: My fasting blood sugars have dropped dramatically since I started this way of eating. I made up to new recipes a bacon stuffed portabella mushroom and a stuffed pepper with cheese and Italian sausage. Yum ! I did my first power workout an hour of Zumba, then weight training and the an additional 25…
  • I guess I would call this an unplanned cheat day. I went out with my mom for lunch to a really nice and somewhat expensive restaurant. I've been there before for dinner and was allowed to make substitutions, but today the waiter claimed that he couldn't make any substitutions. I wanted grilled asparagus or collard greens…
  • I'm really just starting out and I'm sticking to 50-100 carbs. I am feeling a lot better and it gives me a little leeway. I'm planning on monitoring for a few weeks to see how much weight I lose then I can start stepping down my carbs.
  • I drink Lacroix off and on quite a bit. I'm trying not to drink as much diet soda, bit I still want the bubblies that carbonation gives you. I have had the grapefruit and the on the begins with a p.
  • I just realized how Carb sensitive I am. I'm a type 2 diabetic and I just started back on low carbs. In just less than a week my fasting BG has dropped from mid 300's to about 144. I've been sticking around 50-100 carbs a day. I've discovered that any thing above that is trouble for me. I grazed up to 133 carbs and I feel…
  • I went to Golden Corral to day and stayed completely on plan. I stuck with meat and vegetables. I even had 3 strawberries for desert. I also did Zumba today. I'm still way under my calories and carbs!

  • Good Lord. I admire the dedication.
  • Thanks for the advice. I'm going to take some cashews with me just in case I need them after my workout.
  • My hair dresser recommended bioten tablets and an omega 3. I've also added some Marine Collagen Peptide. All of these are good building blocks for hair, skin and nails. It does take a while for it to build up in your system, but once it does your hair should start to thicken up and hopefully grow back.
  • You have described what it's like beautifully. I couldn't have said it any better. Sometimes when I snap out of it I feel sick, exhausted and ashamed. It really is a "what the Heck just happened?" moment.
  • I have the Charge HR and I love it. It's light weight, I forget that I have it on most of the time. I like that it syncs up with MFP with relative ease. It has a long battery life and a short charge time. I find that if I wipe it down with a wash cloth and occasionally go without it at night then I avoid the skin…
  • Congratulations! You have done such a great job.
  • Yes, you can have an addiction to carbs. I have been in a binge cycle many times and it's very hard to break once it starts. It is just like any other addiction. You have to figure out what your trigger was so that you can be more self aware. Intense stress, certain people, or just the environment that you're in at the…
  • Thank You for sharing. You story was the kick in the but that I needed keep me motivated.
  • I tend to by meat from stores that have a butcher on site so, for me it's Meijer, Fresh Thyme and sometimes Kroger. I also buy from Costco if I need larger quantities, Plus Costco you can return it if it doesn't taste right.
  • I'm diabetic as well and I've been debating going back on a similar diet. It does work and it seems that I can only lose weight when I drastically restrict carbs. The stress on the kidneys from eating this was scares me a little. Congrats keep up the good work.
  • Congrats! Keep up the good work.
  • I've gained all of my weight back, due to injury and stress but when I was smaller I noticed the following things. People listened to me more and cared about my opinion. Definitely being able to shop in more stores and not just plus size. Not having to take so many meds for diabetes. Not being fat shamed. My mom does this…
  • You'll warm up once you start walking or running.
  • Confession: I love my job, but hate the management staff that I work for. I have one manager that just talks all the damn time. Most of the time it's the stupidest stuff that comes out of his mouth. It's to point that when I hear his voice, I just want to stab him in the throat with a rusty knife. I would never do that of…
  • Yes Daredevil is awesome. I binged watched the whole season over a two day period. ;)
  • My Confession: I have been completely off the reservation as far as diet and exercise goes for about 3 weeks. My diet had basically consisted of jalapeno cheese bombers from hardees and iced honey buns.
  • I'm excited that I will get off of work early enough to watch The Flash and Agents of Shield. I'm really a teenage boy trapped in a 40 year old woman's body.
