  • Today was a total bust. I wasn't feeling well Stomach issues. I thought that if I a ate some good old fashioned bread I would feel OK. It sent me I to a tail spin. I just finished off a individual package of jelly beans and a jumbo pretzel. I also bought a Coke Zero because at this point why not. Once again the low carb…
  • So for today. 2 out of 3 64 oz of water finished at around 80 plus oz Workout: total bust. The day just slipped away from me. Running errands and studying for tests. Plus, I think my body needed to break, it's cold rainy and my plantar fasciitis is flaring up pretty badly. Stay under a 100 carbs I'm under without looking…
  • It was a struggle but I managed to get everything in for March 5th. 1. 64 oz, I managed to get 85 2. Workout. I got in my walk plus weights 3. Stay under 100 carbs. I think I finished out around 60. I was prepared to go off the rails. I was craving fried chicken and mashed potatoes. I went to KFC and they were out of…
  • Wow! Just an amazing transformation. Good job!
  • Another day down. All 3 goals in. Water: almost 80 oz Workout. 1 hour and 20 minutes of walking Carbs: 54 the goal was to stay under 100. I may eat some yogurt before midnight. I will still be way under and I have plenty of calories left. On a NSV note I noticed that my favorite walking path used to take me between an 1hr…
  • I just realized that I haven't had a soda in over a week. I normally drink a diet Dr. Pepper or Diet Mountain Dew.
  • I know it's easier said than done, but sometimes just putting the scale up for a few days and just focusing on meal plan and fitness puts things in perspective.
  • I monitor my calories. My weight loss is slow going, I'm at 100 carbs or less, so I definitely have to keep track. I actually have been forcing myself to eat more calories I don't think I was getting enough in and my weight wasn't moving. Keeping track of your calories allows you to make the necessary adjustments.
  • I would say maybe slightly more. I don't eat out hardly at all anymore, but since I'm doing low carb I do spend money on good quality meat. I buy bacon from the meat counter, bison, lamb and sausages. I started off with eating a lot of deli meat and beef, but since I started eating more of a variety of meat my cost has…
  • I made it! I got all 3 of my March goals. I got my 64 oz of water in. I'm going to try and drink more before bed. I got my work out in. Cardio and weights. I'm under 100 carbs. I must say that I like this challenge. It's forcing me to just focus on my goals. I am making more of a conscious effort to stay on track.
  • Day two I met two of my 3 goals 1. Get 64 oz of water in made it over 80oz 2. Work out. I actually ended up working out twice today. I'm sore beyond belief. 3. Stay at 100 carbs or less. I went over do to dinner with friends so 1 finished out the day at 135 total carbs. It's probably less of I go by net. Tomorrow, will be…
  • I would like to join as well. My goals get in 64 oz of water Get in some sort of fitness at least 5 days a week. Work to stay under a 100 carbs a day.
  • My snack faves right now are spicy Buffalo pork rinds, hot and spicy pickles, cashews (weighed and measured out of course), and sweet and spicy turkey Italian sausage with a couple of tablespoons of tomatoe sauce.
  • Thank you for all of the advice. Until I can get in to the doctor. I've decided to just keep taking the metformin and cut back on the levemir. I am still taking my fast acting insulin as well but a lot less of it.
  • I had a kitchen sink of a salad and turkey Italian sausage with tomatoe sauce and grilled onions. I would post pictures but I don't know how from my phone.
  • You might want to try Vega protein powder. It's plant based, certified vegan and it has 20 grams of protein per serving and 110 calories per scoop. It's a great base for smoothies. I know you can pick it up a Costco.
  • I'm starting back up to and I've noticed that when I eat more protein I tend to do better. For me higher carb days = hunger. Low Carb High Fat = fullness Try adding a little more protein and fat to each meal it will probably help a lot.
  • I can always tell the difference when I eat more carbs and less protein. I just restarted my journey and my daily goal is just under 1400 calories. I find that if I limit my carbs to about 100g a day and up my protein I'm OK. You would actually be surprised by how much food you can eat just by making a few tweaks. Ham and…
  • Last week was great I managed to get my 30 plus minutes of fitness in. I was actually getting in an hour on most days. This week has been a little rougher and tougher battling a bug. I think that this is an awesome challenge. I'm getting in a lot more gym time than I have in a very long time.
  • My step up goal is to do at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day. In the month of September. I have a weekend getaway coming up in Oct, so this is the perfect opportunity for me to get my fitness on. :)
  • I've just discovered hummus as well. I'm trying to stay at the higher end of the low carb spectrum, around 100g. Hummus is a great pre-workout snack.

  • Good to know. Thanks for the feedback everyone.
  • My goals are to stick with weight training, Reduce my A1C, stick to 100 grams or less in carbs, and to make it to on-demand!
  • I don't know how to post pictures yet, but I had 3 BBQ ribs and a salad made of lettuce, tomatoes, fried bacon and shredded white cheddar/gruyere blend cheese. The salad was drizzled with truffle flavor olive oil and acv. It was delicious
  • Thanks for the support everyone. I truly appreciate it. This was the second time I was robbed. The first time was when I was on vacation a few years ago, the dog was with me, they literally had taken everything. The police eventually caught the guy. He ended up murdering someone during a botched robbery. The second time…
  • Thanks for the advice. I am diabetic so I'm a little afraid of fasting, but I am going to try to-go longer between meals. I'm also going to hopefully get a workout in today.
  • I caught some good deals at Costco this week. I'm really into scallops fried in garlic and butter and marinated lamb loin chops right now. Also asparagus drizzled in olive oil and thrown of the George Forman grill, then finished off with butter and lemon pepper. I want to try Bison and zoodles soon.
  • That's great! :)

  • That wonderful that you were able to lose so much weight. That gives me hope. I've been contemplating drastically slashing my carbs even more until things get moving. I'm staying under my 1600 calories so maybe I should cut back on those as well.
