  • Shin splits are usually a sign that you have worn out your runners and you need to invest in a new pair. No harm in getting a new pair of runners, trying them out and see if the shin splits disappear.
  • Live in Ireland. Caught the travel bug 3 years ago. Have been to the west coast of the states, New York, Italy two times, Croatia which is my favourite county that I have visited, Madrid, Valetta, Athens and Corfu, the last 3 of which I went to in the last two weeks of August this year. Heading to Iceland in 2 weeks for a…
  • Issue started with Asics runners and I had those runners fitted by a running shop as with the next pair of Asics. However I used to always run in Asics runners before the issue started. I've changed now to Nike zoom runners so I'll see if the issue persists with that.
  • Thanks for that. I wouldnt be gone on going up a size in running shoes cos like with you, the shoes would start slipping on my heel and I dont want that. I'll go on Amazon and look for those toe caps. On both feet, its the toe beside the big toe.
  • As I mentioned before, porridge/oats for breakfast, the highest calorie bread I can find to have a sandwich with and for dinner chili con carne, Bolognese or chicken curry with a good helping of rice, spaghetti, pasta, potatoes or whatever carb source you like yourself.
  • This is not the first time I've seen eggs mixed with porridge. Dont think I could eat that. As for cottage cheese, I tried it once or twice but its not for me. Even thinking about it makes me want to gag.
  • Would second what @jdog022 mentioned re peanut butter and ice cream. Mix peanut butter in with porridge/oats after its cooked as its delicious. Also agreed what with he suggests about protein in or around 140 grams. Halo Top ice cream if you can get it where you are is not bad ice cream. While Breyers is better, I doubt…
  • I put the goal weight on here which was 70kg as well when I did my first bulk. It was something to aim for so no harm in putting in it. Dont get too stuck on it though and like I said in an earlier post take it slow. Your protein for bulking and actually maintenance seems quite high. You dont really need that much protein.…
  • No problem. It will take time to get over the mental struggle of gaining weight but think of less in the short term & more in the long term about how stronger you will be.
  • No problem. Yeah its around that 600 mark or higher on some days. I find it the best breakfast to keep me super full till mid morning and high in calories as well. Good luck bulking sir.
  • Gotcha. If 45-50 grams of dry oats is equivalent to 1/2 cup, than my suggestion of 3 scoops of oats which is in or around 90 grams when I weigh them would be more or less nearly a full cup.
  • When you say scoop, are you talking about 1 tbsp ? - hmm good question. Probably but cant be 100% about that. When I refer to a scoop I refer to a scoop that comes with a tin/bag of porridge.
  • Great. What I suggested is a great way to get a high amount of calories into you first thing every morning. Another addition would be a scoop of grounded millseed, flaxseed, sunflower seeds that you should be able to find in shops.
  • Do you like porridge/oats? 3 scoops of porridge/oats with 4 scoops of full fat milk with a banana or whatever fruit you like, a spoonful of honey or peanut butter or both and you have nice filling calorific breakfast. If you want to go for a more protein based type breakfast, scrambled eggs or however you like your eggs on…
  • What @sardelsa said is spot on. I was 55kg when I first started on here and I'm 5 foot 4/5. It wasnt until I hit 4,000 calories daily that I started to gain weight. Like @J72FIT said, increase the calories slowly 200 - 250 a week until your weight starts to go up. I'm not saying you will need 4,000 calories to gain weight…

  • Another reason why I do them is similar to you my PT recommended I do them when I had the rotator cuff issues and due to sitting for most of the day at work.
  • Past rotator cuff injury person here and this is why I do facepulls. I quite like them.
  • Exactly. I just need to get myself back to Pilates classes. The best Pilates instructor in the gym I go to went and had a baby. The cheek;)
  • Regarding your tight hip, you should consider taking up Pilates or Yoga but go to an actual class where the trainer show you how to properly do the moves. Cant help on ankle mobility I'm afraid.
  • I havent really done the whole bulk/cut (hate that word) cycle malarky. I've gone for bulking and recomping. Patience is a big requirement while recomping but if you can get over the slow process of recomping, do that over cutting. Also nothing worse than a shoulder injury.
  • Would highly recommend to take up pilates or yoga to help improve flexibility but go to an actual physical class over someone showing you on the Internet who isnt physically present with you, where the instructor will show you how to properly do the moves as your form needs to be good doing some of the moves, especially in…
  • When I was going to a PT, he was so surprised by the noise of my knees during squats that he was shocked that I never heard the noises myself. He got me to use fish oils which have helped to a degree but thankfully the gym I go has loud music so I cant hear the noise.
  • My knees used to do this quite a lot and while they still do but not as much. Try fish oils as that helps reduce the clicking and popping.
  • @patrickrea2002 I dont know where you are based but Halo Top is quite a nice ice cream or if you are on this side of the Atlantic as in Ireland and England, Breyers is better than Halo Top.
  • Not from Australia but I've heard about the heat down under at the moment. Dont know how you all arent melting over there. Eek
