Yes that's what I was thinking, I'll give it a couple more weeks. My job is pretty sedentary so when I have time after exercise too I'll try to go on more walks and what not
-
Why is that? I have the one that straps around the body, for 30 minutes its about 100-200 depending, when I do my legs it's higher
-
Yes that's true, I am just glad I took measurements before I started otherwise I'd be very disappointed lol
-
Can you explain a bit more in depth what you mean? I can easily maintain my weight it seems without tracking but losing weight steadily is what is difficult for me if I dont stick to a regimented meal plan it seems

I tend to cook indian style dishes with whatever i have in the fridge so there can be a lot of variety. But I guess I could really try to hone in on several and make standard recipes with them. That's another thing I don't like to be so calculated when I cook, I'm very much a creative cooker using different ingredients,…

Wow thanks this is all great information! I appreciate it all! As for my work I do henna outside at a booth, but I may have to get a portable device for electricity and the small crock pot idea is a good idea. For summers i'm outside 6 days a week for about 10 hours (I know crazy but worth it) but since I sit most of the…

Ah darn! Seemed like a good idea in theory but thank you for the info @3dogsrunning

Thats a good idea, how often would you eat at maintenance while you were losing? Yes I did notice the next day I had cravings too, another reason I would want to stay away from such an occurrence. lol But eating at maintenance, here and there like you said could help metabolism. I obviously don't know the science behind…

Yes, I think slow and steady is good for me! (:

Yes, I will log if does happen again!

Yes living it up every now and then, I guess "cheat" isn't the proper word. Yes I agree I definitely don't want to make it a habit. The whole inspiration for this thread though was the fact that I had lost more than average, it seemed interesting to me, but like I mentioned before, perhaps it was just more of a deficit on…

I plan on it, it's just good to see that if I go to a celebration once a month or every two months, easing up on the strict numbers for a day won't have any adverse reactions lol.
-
On average I eat about 1400 though when I exercise, about 1200 on non-exercise days. Stature should have something to do with it, right? I'm barely 5 foot, I don't think I should eat the same for a 5'6 person.
-
it gave me 1265
-
Ok I was curious, perhaps I just had more of a deficit on the other days which mitigated for that one day.

It was a social gathering with friends so it was more the atmosphere that sparked it, and I was expecting not to lose anything for the week, but it was actually a little bit more than normal. I don't feel 1200 is too low for me on non--exercise days. But I have heard a little of the whole leptin idea, where eating high…

I've been vegetarian for 8 years. I've always eaten rather healthy but in just way too large of portions especially for being short (5 foot) haha My diary is public, feel free to add me I am always looking for new veg friends as well to stay inspired!
-
We have very similar stats! What was your calorie goal during the 12 month process? Did you increase/decrease anywhere along the line?
-
Nice! What kind of things did you do to lose the weight?
-
I'm veg too, i'll add you!
-
Ah ok that makes sense! thanks for clearing that up

If you were new to lifting, then it's not out of realm of possibility to gain muscle as well - as newbie gains. For anybody else you were likely losing fat and preserving muscle mass - or at least trying to preserve some muscle mass. Because in deficit, you will lose fat and some muscle mass. [/quote] @biodigit I am…

I commented last time but I don't know if you got it since you had to repost. Did you notice the changes before you saw your before/after pics next to each other. Im on my 3 week of Insanity and am waiting to finish the 4th week before I take an after shot, but since I see myself everyday it's hard to notice so much…
-
@rugratz2015 I opted to lose 1 lb a week so it gave me 1500, I'm not very active at work, but I have been doing the Insanity program 5-6 days a week for 3 weeks and have only lost a pound, I have been eating back half or most of my exercise calories so this week I am trying 1300 calories and eating back only half or none…
-
Yes this is all very helpful! For three weeks of eating at 1500 plus some exercise calories I was feeling that my height calls for an even lower calorie goal, so I will be trying 1300 now and from everyones input I think I will try to eat back only half the exercise cals or none at all! Thanks for all your feedback :)
-
@KimmydeJong I was doing 1500 plus eating back half or sometimes all of my exercise calories if I was super hungry because I am doing Insanity right now as well. I am on my 4th week and have only lost about a pound so I have just decided to drop down to 1300 and eat back half or all my calories and I'll see if that has an…

@AshleyCMoody I'd love to see your blog on that topic, and definitely I like to add yogurt to my diet as well. Raw milk too if I can find it! I've used MFP on and off, and it definitely works, this time I am super determined about making this lifestyle permanent! (:
-
@bodyzen Yes! And wow it looks like you've had a beautiful transformation! Very inspiring (: It's definitely true, quality counts. And through MFP I can see how I can also over-eat even if it's good foods!

Nice! I wish I would have been so lucky to have been veggie from birth! And yesss kichiri is one of my favorites! Lately I've been cooking with coconut oil, but definitely ghee is super healthy too, I should make more!
