I eat oatmeal made with water, then add in home-made granola, sugar free syrup, freeze dried cranberries, and cinnamon. It keeps me full for hours!!

Thank you all for replying! It's such a pain to restrict things, but knowing that there are still lots of delicious foods I can eat helps!

I'd love to add all of you...and I think I will! or you can add me. Ottawa gal here!

It can be very difficult when friends don't understand what you're trying to do. 'One dinner out isn't going to hurt'...oh yes it can. For me I need to keep my momentum going! I've had to decline going lots of places with my friends, or just going and ordering a small salad (or a big one) or something else that will fit…

I made a huge delicious taco salad...mixed lettuce, roasted peppers, extra lean ground beef, salsa, guacamole, goat mozzarella cheese, nom nom

Anyone can add me, I'm always looking for more friends! We all need help getting motivated sometimes, and the support of fellow dieters/healthy choice makers can help!
-
Add me too! I can always use more friends--who doesn't need more support and encouragement?!

Thanks everyone! I'm not too worried about the calories, I plan my meals the day before so can adjust things. I can't eat beans or cheese due to allergies, but I'll try cooking rice in broth & add seasonings and barley and the other suggestions! Thanks again!

Ottawa, Ontario Canada! Hello world!

I'm having the same problem-he talks the talk but won't walk the walk so to speak. I don't know how to motivate him, since I've always been the kind of girl who lets people be themselves and not nag about things. I think I may have to start the nag though-I don't want to wake up in the morning beside someone who's had a…

Don't get discouraged. That's the main thing-keep working at it!

Weekends are always hard for me also-partly because there aren't any set times for meals like we have on the weekdays. This will be my first weekend taking this seriously, and I'm already nervous about it. I'm planning on tracking still, even if I get a little distracted from the healthy eating. I think it'll help with…

I'm also looking for new friends, I'm 33 and need to get back in shape!

I have often felt the same way; but there's a reason there is that set limit-it'll help you eat all the food groups, get the nutrition you need to stay healthy. That's how I think about it, so I try hard to stay within that calorie goal. There are lots of little things you can add for extra calories that are still healthy,…

Yes, exercise is so important also-even just a walk around the block is helpful. I am terrible with this though- I don't want to leave my house and go out in public most of the time, but I recognize that I need to give myself a little kick in the butt to do it. It can turn a day around for the better.

I had a roasted chicken breast in garlic and lemon juice, roasted spaghetti squash, and steamed broccoli. It was SO delicious!

I am starting new again, but I suffer from depression and it has been an obstacle in weight loss in the past. I think that having friends and their support will help, and being open and honest about things and how we're feeling also. I have been learning about expressing myself, and I find that it is helping a lot. I'm…

Thank you! I am always hungry, so finding food that's filling enough has been a challenge. I've finally discovered that oatmeal, walnuts and a touch of sugar free syrup is the best breakfast to keep me full until snack time.
