I hear ya - it's a sad state of affairs! :noway:

I think feeding trolls is a bad idea regardless of their size or the number of children they have had.

Be prepared for the caffeine withdrawal headaches you might get if you cut your caffeine consumption dramatically. The headaches usually come a couple of days into the changed regime. If you drink enough of it that you think you are addicted then consider cutting it out slowly. One drink at a time. So, substitute one or at…

Isnt the first year 'paper'? For our first anniversary years ago I bought my husband lots of tickets (for paper) - to a hotel, to a concert (Red Hot Chilli Peppers in Hyde Park - yay!), to a show (The Lion King on stage in London) etc etc - lots of different places.

I think there will be a fair few ladies who have had children (me included!) who belong at least to the 'junior' section of this society! Maybe not a whole apron, but, well... I won't draw you a picture! I wish I had some ideas about how to diminish this feature :embarassed:

"Actually one would hurt - you see my self esteem is tied up in me doing this! To have one of those chocolates you are offering me I'd need to spend another 15 minute on the exercise bike at the gym to burn it off. That would make me 15 minutes late home to my family... Can you see where this is headed? No need to bite…

It's so great to hear you talking about gaining self-esteem and I'm glad you are loving your exercise - for me the exercise is what motivates me and I'll tell anyone who will listen how wonderful it is to get moving, there are simply too many physical and mental benefits to exercise to list!

My maintenance is 1940 (with a 'lightly active' lifestyle), I'm 5,5 and 156 (I still have 10lbs or more to lose) and I'm using only my exercise calories as a deficit. I burn around 400 a day and I've been losing more consistently since I ditched my deficit and trusted my exercise cals. It takes all sorts but some of us…

I'd be interested in the answer to this too: I usually maintain my heart rate at 155+ and it's a long time since I knew my best workout figures. I asked at the gym but the trainer I asked wasnt particularly helpful. He just said working at 120 or below with my resting heart rate would be a waste of time and that anything…

On your profile you say you want to focus less on the scale and more on you. This seems so sensible given your back-story and how much work you've put into your body  If you do want to think for a few minutes about the scale there are several reasons why you might only have seen a 10lb loss in two months. This is an…

I only log 20 mins or more since fat burn would happen around this time. However a 5 min jog might be 40 calories? Were you carrying your toddler? That would raise it somewhat - perhaps to 60 calories.

What kind of carbs is she choosing? Are they wholegrain? Sweet potatoes? Cereals? Or fruits? 'Carbs' are not all built equal

Change one thing every few weeks. Just one thing. Pasta to wholewheat, rice to wholegrain, bread to wholewheat...

I used to think yes, a free day is fine. From recent experience I'm coming around to the idea that it's not a great idea. I know it effects my weight loss that week. If it were for a wedding, or a family event i had no control over and wanted to enjoy - it would be worth it. If it were just to have a day out from healthy…

My personal trainer warned me this week not to expect weight loss at the start of strength training. She said it may happen quickly - it may not - but it WILL happen, just be patient while my body adjusts. I've yet to weigh in since beginning strength training but am enjoying some great NSVs

How many servings are in the can? Is 55ml a serving? There is a lot of air in spray cream - even a bowl full will be mostly air.

Congratulations on your metamorphosis - you've come so far and lost so much!

Charity shops (I think you call the goodwill or thrift stores?) and clothes I used to fit once upon a time ago

:flowerforyou: Sweetheart. From my experience of the school yard waiting to collect my kids, playgroups, and kids birthday parties, if other mums asked for your phone number you have NO reason to be worried about what they thought of you. More often than not, if they thought any less of you for your size, those type of…

I had a look at your diary: I think you are being harsh on yourself: Yes, the choices you've made sometimes arent the healthiest they could be but I think 90% of the people using the site are in the same boat. And where you have made less healthy choices (pizza, take out) you seem to have chosen healthier options or cut…

Beware of this though: The calories that will be added to your daily allowance when you change your activity level will be less than if you log the walk. Things to consider: 1. If you are regularly doing the same walk your body will be used to that pace and activity - so unless you are using a heart-rate monitor to track…

Why specifically cottage cheese and cauliflower? If both make you gag, there are loads more healthy foods out there  Tell us what you DO like and I'm sure we can come up with something...

I know you don't want to hear this but... 2lbs a week is the most you should try to lose. Your weight loss is slowing down, I suspect, because your body has had enough of being starving. To sustain your weight loss you will either need to exercise more or eat less OR take the sensible long term approach that most of us…

Hiya  Do you eat your exercise calories back at all? Perhaps you need to eat some of those back if you are not already. So, sticking with your 1500 goal and eating more calories if you exercise.

From looking over your diary for the past two weeks or so I wondered if you had considered cutting out all alcohol and eating more clean food? This would mean cutting out more junk food, such as crisps, takeaways etc, swapping white grain foods for wholegrain foods (rice, pasta, bread), eating more fruit and veg. I do…

I don't agree: As people's success with zig-zagging calories has shown, being over one day and under another should not adversely effect your weight loss as long as your weekly average is at your goal weight.

Turkey chilli - serves 4 adults comfortably, I freeze half of it for another day. I calculated this is 440 cals per serving - it will depend on where you buy your ingredients though. One pack of turkey breast steaks chopped into 2cm pieces or pieces (about 400g give or take a little) One red/green/yellow/orange pepper -…

Hello and welcome! I've been using MFP since March this year and have lost 12lbs since then. I'd lost a great deal more than that before I joined though... I use a Mac computer, this usually qualifies you straight away as a geek
