  • I drink seltzer water that's flavored. No calories, no sugar, no artificial anything.
  • I eat pita bread with a dollop of hummus and fresh baby spinach. I heard that protein is good after a workout to heal muscles.
  • I make myself eat it, and eat one with protein to give me energy.
  • Don't push it off. Get going! :)
  • Get better soon!
  • Those types of shows make me want to eat! I avoid them. :)
  • I think I'm going to do Sunday, too. I do work out that day normally (one of my 5 days a week), but I can weigh myself before the snack.
  • Way to go with starting the gym. The hardest thing to do at the gym is start it, and second hardest is continuing. I work out normally about 5x a week for an hour each time. It's true that the more you do it - the easier it is! As far as MFP, stick to it, as it does work. Record everything you eat, make good choices and…
  • I just found Bolthouse Farms blue cheese with 35 calories. :)
  • Hi. Think about losing weight a little different. You're not trying to lose 125 lbs (that number may seem too big and can be hard to visualize). Instead, say that you're going to lose 1 pound - 125 times. Good luck!
  • Try the Bolthouse Farms ranch (found in the refrigerated produce section.) I think you'd like them. The salsa ranch isn't spicy, just adds a little tomato to regular ranch.
  • You're right, shoppingdiva, we're not on MFP only to lose weight. When the weight is off (and it will, with your dedication), we should continue with this so we don't gain it all back again. This is our LAST weight loss diet!!!
  • Aw, thanks! The more you exercise, the easier it gets! For the last 3 months, I've gone to the Y 5x a week for an hour each time. Even though I belonged to the Y before then, I went once a week (if that). Now it's crazy - on the days I don't go, I miss it!! Yes, you do get sore (especially in the beginning), but it's a…
  • I've also heard that bananas help.
  • Yep, it's this time of the year. I suffer from SAD, and and get panic attacks from it. I have found a few tips: 1. Take Vitamin D 2. Get enough sleep, but not too much (I want to turn into a bear and hibernate during the winter) 3. Walk outside, even if it's cold. 4. If possible, use a light therapy. (Mine is…
  • Excellent answer, thanks Gerri! Btw, Gerri is the one who got me motivated. :flowerforyou:
  • Well, my name is Nanette, and I've been steady on MFP for about three months. My problem isn't sugar, it's snacks. At night time, a good day can go down the drain with salty chips (Doritos Sweet & Chili Nachos, to name it.) After a month of snacking on Doritos and not seeing the scale go down (even though I met my calories…
  • Just like gas for your car, you can't operate without proper fuel (note that I added "proper" - make good choices.) Anything worth needing isn't easy. I think we're all good at the easy part - now it's time to push ourselves a little further. :)

  • Thanks Gerri!
  • Feel free to add me as a friend. I'd be glad to help you stay motivated.
  • A food scale.
  • Hi. Add me on as a friend. I'll help motivate you.
  • Hi John, I saw something that may help you. Don't think of the big number you have to lose - that can stop you in your tracks. Instead, just try to lose 1 lb - 300 (or whatever the number is) times. It's easier to achieve. Hang in there and feel free to add me as a buddy. :) I'd be glad to help you keep motivated.…
  • Hi Michelle! You can add me as a friend. Yes, this does work. I've been on it for three weeks, and with working out 5x a week, I've lost nearly 7 lbs. How about instead thinking "this may work," how about saying to yourself, "this WILL work!"
  • So true!
