  • I'd love to join in! I've hit a point where enough is enough and want to get healthy and would love some buddies
  • Haha... I just added you before seeing this as I saw your post first looking for fitbit users.
  • I'm not sure when it starts to feel good exercising but it sure feels great after you've exercised. Every week you get stronger and stronger no matter crappy or weak you feel starting out. While I have a long way to go, I can do things now I couldn't do before (like a pushup) and it feels fantastic seeing these changes.
  • I'm 44 hoping to lose 50lbs with 4 kids 5-25yrs old.... hmmm....I think that's pretty close to where you are in life ;) No critic or food police here, I love good food and wine and am trying to be healthier while still enjoying my life. Feel free to add me or other posters cause I'd love more friends for encouragement here…
  • Thanks. I don't think we have Jimmy Dean in Canada though, at least not where I live :(
  • I'll join! Starting over again.
  • Me and my child have been sick :( so only two workouts in although I cleaned liked a mad woman yesterday instead and lost 1.2 lbs this week. I'm not doing the kickstart because I think I gave up last time because of how much I hated doing cardio 1 daily. I like the workouts but have always hated cardio classes. I'm not…
  • Added you :)
  • Your pics aren't showing up but great job! Did you follow the diet plan too?
  • Great to hear. I tried to do the kickstart but really only semi-did the diet and exercised up until Thursday with the double work outs and burnt out. I lost 2lbs though in those 4 days so impressive but put some of it back on with too many functions/parties this weekend. I'm going to try it again during the week this week…
  • Great job! We have very similar stats so very inspiring to see.
  • I never had knee problems, ever, but I pushed through some knee pain during her jumping jacks because she says she has 400lb women that can do these. Five days into the Shred I had to take a month off exercising because both my knees got misaligned and went to see an osteopath. So I ordered Jillian's Body Revolution which…
  • I just started today too!
  • Hi, my name is Carol. I am a 42-yr old stay at home mother. I weigh 169.2, about 46lbs overweight for me at 5'4" and am going to do something about it now. I am starting Body Revolution 7-day kickstart tomorrow although I tried workout1 already to see what it was like and loved it, although I am quite sore! I really want…
  • Great job! Thanks for the pics, very inspiring.
  • Thanks everyone. Lots of great advice :) I was just curious what a little weight loss and exercise would look like in a couple months. Got a great email from one girl who only lost 12lbs but had a great body transformation pic from working out with similar stats as me. So if I did manage to lose 20lbs, that would put me at…
  • Thank God I have some MFP friends in my profile or I would be feeling very alone right now.
  • I second the watching your knees. I had to stop the Shred on day 5 because I threw my knees out. I went to an osteopath and my legs were badly out of alignment and he said to not be going that hard at it (for me). I felt pain doing the exercise but pushed past it because you hear Jillian say she has 400lb women that can do…
  • We had a non-traditional 5pm cocktail wedding at our house. It was a lot of work to pull off but I loved it. We have a victorian home and rented a clear party tent with a dance floor which was awesome to see the stars at night especially with a candle centerpiece hanging from the top. The bar was open on everyone's arrival…
  • Congrats on your weight loss. You look great - no need to have low self-esteem. As far as being attractive to other girls I would say it's not just the body but also the confidence too. Confidence, not cockiness. Confidence plus a little modesty will take you further than a six pack ever will on its own. Just be a kind…
  • I'm sorry you have to deal with some unhelpful information. My first thought too was to enjoy it cause you get old faster than you want but I totally appreciate your situation. Dark coloured glasses, the frame itself, helps to give a Librarian beyond your years look. Office attire like you are uptight can help. It's a…
  • Thanks for writing this. It helps.
  • I hit the same wall, but I hit it at going over 170lbs. I know how you feel. I felt this way my first 10 lbs, then 20 then this and if I didn't do something now it will only get worse. Every year more climbs on. I know I don't have as much weight to lose but I have the same problem and I'd be happy to help support you in…
  • No amount of exercise can undo too many bad food choices. I'm still working my way to getting cleaner with my health and food choices and am now exercising daily. Feel free to add me. I am not as regimented as you are likely after your years of service but I am trying to treat my health like a job now.
  • This is my fourth time around here and *finally* getting my crap together. It's not how long it took you, it's that you are trying again :) Congrats on your 6lbs. I'm adding you.
  • Congratulations for the beginning of your new healthy self! Bingeing is a hard one. I stopped doing it when I thought of my overall week instead of just the day. If I want the scale to go down, I can't blow my whole week because oops I went over and gave myself permission to swallow the fridge lol. You can do this. It's…
  • I'm adding you. I have some great people here but it always helps having more. I'm 41, mother of 4, with around 50lbs to lose. I've tried MFP a few times and failed. This time I connected with people more than I did last time and I'm doing much better.
  • Thanks for your reply and congrats on your weight loss! She is 3yrs old. I should mention I do have access to daycare sometimes to go the gym. I am just trying to figure out an at home routine with my daughter and am probably ultimately just struggling with the anxiety I feel of balancing her needs and making time for…
  • I hated brown rice but somewhere I had read that short grain brown rice was tastier so I bought some and love it. I had tried the brown long grain and brown basmati and threw it out. The short grain brown is so much better.
