Going to lose weight in a healthy way!

Hi there! I'm completely new to this website so I still have to figure out how everything works :)

Let me introduce myself:
Growing up I have always been very skinny and athletic, but from the age of 14 years old I started to gain weight. I think I felt overweight long before I actually was, but I have never been very happy with my body, because it was either too skinny or too fat in my opinion. Being 23 years and almost graduating from college I feel I am ready for a change. I hope I will be able to loose weight by keeping track of what I eat and exercising regularly. I am 1.76 (5'10) and weigh 86kg (189.6 lbs). My goalweight would be 70kg (154 lbs).

Binge-eating is my biggest problem, and something I would really like to stop. I know my binge eating is triggered by stress, and in a calm state I can make the right decisions and buy and eat healthy food. Whenever I'm stressed out this common sense seems to dissapear and the only thing I care about is eating lots of sweets and chocolate, until I literally feel sick. When it comes to eating I see things very black and white: something is either good or bad, and there is not really a grey area. I would love to be able to enjoy sweets from time to time like a normal person would, without thinking I can absolutely have no sweets at all, or might as well eat the whole bag at once because I already ate too much anyway.. Even typing this I think it is childish to think like that, but it is just the way I experience things.

Looking at the succes-stories I'm already very inspired and really hope to make a lifestyle change.
Hopefully you guys can help me keep track of my goals!
Any tips or comments are much appreciated :)

Congratulations for the beginning of your new healthy self! Bingeing is a hard one. I stopped doing it when I thought of my overall week instead of just the day. If I want the scale to go down, I can't blow my whole week because oops I went over and gave myself permission to swallow the fridge lol. You can do this. It's just all about educating yourself and changing what you say to yourself in your head. I say the stupidest things to myself sometimes and am finally learning how to say the right things to myself to create a healthier lifestyle. Good for you reaching out for help now and save yourself a life of being unhappy with your weight before it gets more out of control :)
