  • I can but it depends on the diet and exercise level. I lose very fast on Keto (2lbs/day for the first 3 Days), but it’s usually water weight. I lose very slowly on calorie counting, likely due to salt and resulting water retention. I never watch my sodium intake. I am trying the Pasternak reset now, and I’ve lost about…
  • I don't see why a calorie free beverage would cause any issues. Caffeine is a case-by-case scenario. For example, I can't have caffeine while fasting because, for some reason, it causes my blood sugar to drop. That doesn't happen to everyone.
  • I'm new to this group and just started 16/8 IF two days ago. I eat breakfast around 8am, and lunch around 12-1 PM. Lunch is my last meal of the day. I do have calorie free unflavored sparkling water when I used to have dinner, around 7 PM. The bubbles fill me up (though I'm usually not hungry after exercising anyway). I'm…
  • My husband tries but doesn't understand. It's either one extreme or the other. I did Lindora and the first day he brought home Popeyes fried chicken. Then he got over enthusiastic. When I started losing weight he told everyone I was on a diet (it was embarrassing) and he'd be irritated with me if I so much as looked at…
  • People who sit on the machines and text longer than the standard break between reps. People who scream very loudly while working out (I always look to see who dropped a weight on their foot and it's usually just some person who picked weights that are too heavy.)
  • Everyone is different, some folks lose weight faster by calorie counting. I'm not one of those people. I lose weight faster on low carb. In my first round, I could stay in ketosis and have 45-55 carbs per day. If my ketostick measurement came out a bit light, I could just hop on the treadmill and that seemed to fix that…
  • I can relate to your wife, unfortunately. The anxiety part caught my eye. Anxiety is exhausting because your mind does not shut up. The thought of getting up to go to the gym is not just throwing on clothes and going out the door. This becomes a mental battle of "what do I do when I get there? What if people judge me? What…
  • 1 ounce is 28.3495 Grams. Just type "ounces to grams" in Google and a converter/calulator should come up.
  • If you happen to have Amazon Prime/Instant Video there are some free workout videos. I felt awkward stepping into a Yoga Studio so having that on my smart TV was a nice start for me. I also enjoy a series called "the Gymbox" that is on Amazon Prime. I haven't been able to find anything on Netflix, and I'm not familiar with…
  • Yes, you are. Though I try not to focus on other people at the gym, sometimes something will happen that is so outrageous I just can't help but watch. If I'm on a cardio machine and whatever is on the gym TV isn't to my liking, then of course something will catch my eye if it's out of the ordinary. Here's what you're…
  • Don't just weigh yourself, take measurements too. The scale can lie. I did a really awesome bootcamp in January and I thought I wasn't getting results (it was only a month, and I was happy that my weight was maintaining). I went for a dress fitting in February and learned that, although my weight had maintained, I had lost…
  • Hello, I have questions on how lap band works. Does lap band inhibit the body's ability to absorb calories? I read through some lap band literature and it mentioned that patients must eat a "well chewed" 1200 calorie per day diet. I'm just curious if it helps if you're already on a 1200 calorie diet? It's my understanding…
  • Maybe Carob chips are an option? I'm also a chocolate junkie; I could eat it every day. I've used chocolate flavored protein bars as a meal replacement which seems to help curb that craving. I'll still have a piece of chocolate once in a while (especially if i'm having a good week)…
  • It wasn't meant to be offensive. I get it too.
