Hello! Nice to meet you. First, don't beat yourself up. Basically, you stumbled. Occasionally, we all stumble and sometimes fall. The important thing is how you talk to yourself and what you do next. You could very easily sabotage yourself by beating yourself up. So, forgive yourself and let it go. Second, Woohoo! Good job…

Hi! I can relate. It is a rough journey. But, you have to stay determined and stay focused on your goal or goals. Be realistic in setting them. Remember to set a few NSVs. They help keep you motivated. Progress comes in different forms. Also, get a good support system. (If I had done all that ten years ago I won't have bad…

Also, the more I tell myself I cannot have a specific food the more I want it. Since I figured that out I came up with some strategies. For foods that I have absolutely…

Hi! I wish you success on your journey to your goals. I too have just returned to MFP after a few years away. My current goals are: 1) to log my food every day 2) Focus on reducing carbs Hopefully, by being mindful of what and how much I eat will help me release weight and lower my A1C. If you would like add me as a pal.

Hello, Debra! I am disabled. I am also a returning member, who wishes to get my A1C below 9.5. Recently, my doctor has added more medicine to help control my blood sugar. I am unhappy about that and I want to reduce the amount of medication I take to control my A1C. Maybe we can be pals and cheer each other on to our goals.

Hmmm . . . My answer is yes and no. Yes, because what ever I eat is going to be something I wanted to eat cause I am not going to eat stuff I don't like or don't want. No, because I stop and think about the amount of calories I am putting in my mouth. So, that usually means choosing a smaller portion or version of what I…
