HAHAHA. There's nothing to debate!

Oh, I like that image too Diamond!

it got cut off a little

You are amazing! This story just hit home with me. Thank you for sharing your journey with MFP. You are an excellent writer and an inspiration!

My stats are very similar to yours! I started out just about the same weight. The heavier you are, the more calories you burn. So you could be doing the same activity as a woman who is 175 lbs, and she'll get less calories for it. As you lose weight, you'll see those numbers drop too. You lose calories to eat, and you burn…

This! Exactly.

That's an awesome feeling and great motivation! Keep up the great work! WOO HOO!

THIS! Exactly. Slow and steady is what will help you. Don't get caught up in the "Biggest Loser" hype where people lose 8 pounds per week with extreme diet and exercise programs (that they are being paid to do 24/7, without interruption). You are doing AWESOME work and making huge progress. Stop and look at what 40 pounds…

Yikes! I think this will give me nightmares. It's like watching a mutant being born.
-
Ditto to this! Congratulations on all you have accomplished. Stay with it, and love yourself. You deserve it.

The MFP database isn't always accurate either. It's very generous at times!

Eggs are a staple in my house. Also, whole wheat pasta, brown rice, canned beans, canned tuna, canned tomatoes, etc. - stock up when they're on sale. They are great staple items and you can make some great easy meals. Generics are every bit as good as name brands. I've started going to BJ's or Costco and purchasing large…

I'm so sorry to hear about your struggles. Don't give up on the mental health component. Keep at it until you find someone who will listen and work with you. Use Google to find specialists in your area and reach out to them on your own. Have you tried Overeaters Anonymous? That might be a great place for you to get…

Ex Fat people are a lot like ex-smokers! All of the sudden they are superior and wonder why everyone else doesn't "Just stop smoking" (or overeating), because it's just so simple to do!
-
As you well know, we all find motivation in different ways and at different times. Everyone knows to lose weight you have to eat less and move more. If it was a simple as that, we'd be a nation of fit and fabulous folks! But we're not. It's so much more than all of that, and people have to work through their own emotional…

BUMP! Thanks!

I had the same opinion of Chobani plain. I switched to the vanilla flavor, and find it very enjoyable. I mix it with my fresh fruit all the time. I've used it in smoothies and in baking and it works well.

Aspartame is toxic in any form, hot or cold. Sad that it's so prominent in "diet' foods.

The fact that you are compelled to ask for relationship advice on MFP tells me you really know the answer and what you need to do. Sorry you're dealing with this.

While I commend you on the lifestyle change, I would assume that perhaps you are still taking in too many calories if you've seen no significant changes in a month. Are you being careful and weighing/measuring and tracking everything you eat and drink? If not, try doing that for 2 weeks. Be painfully careful and measure…

ALWAYS coffee. :) I like portable things I can eat in the car. This morning I had a whole wheat waffle with 1 TBSP almond butter, 1 tsp honey, and banana sliced on it. And a cup of coffee. If I get up early enough, I like to make an egg white/veggie scramble and put it into a Joseph's flax/wheat pita pocket. Sometimes I'll…

There are some awesome recipes and creative ideas at this blog: www.kalynskitchen.com. She focuses a lot on South Beach Diet friendly foods (aka. lower carb). I love it. It helps shake me out of my same-old-food-funk.

Fantastic! You did this so quickly. Great job! I hope the rest of your journey goes just as well. You're an inspiration

L-O-V-E! Can't wait to get out there. I bring plenty of water, sunblock, a hat, umbrella, blankets, books, and sunglasses. If I'm eating lunch on the beach, I pack easy things like grapes, cherries, cut up veggies, and some type of sandwiches or wraps.

Welcome! I, too, am a WW convert. I hope you find what you need here. It sounds like it's time to make a "get moving" plan. I also have a sitting/desk job during the day, and often find myself glued to my computer for HOURS before I move. Seriously, we have sensor lights in our offices, and after a while without movement…

We're all going to die of something. May as well be from running. Anything "excessive" is bad for you. If you trade a food addiction for a running addiction it's still going to get you. Moderate.

You look like your own younger brother! Seriously, took at least 10 years off your appearance. Great job!! Keep up the hard work and motivation. You're a real inspiration!

Agreed! The MFP calories burned for activities is a little inflated.
